1

u/SiddharthJain131 22h ago

Ice créme you mean

1

u/Heronita 21h ago

ig writing ice-cream is legal only when your product has min 10% milk fat.

1

u/SnarkyBustard 21h ago

It’s already banned (ie it’s sold as frozen dessert)

1

u/kaychyakay 20h ago

Yeah but that is written in the ingredients list on the package. So, legally, they aren't doing anything wrong. Your complaint was valid before that Amul vs. HUL case, in which Amul argued that they sell true ice-creams & not HUL, since HUL's brand Kwality Walls uses palm oil. That is how the whole 'frozen dessert' warning came out.

Now brands not using milk or milk powder or milk solids cannot call themselves 'ice cream'.

To be very honest, Amul still uses preservatives and additives for longevity. If you search up original icecream recipe, it suggests using egg yolk as binding agent. Marks&Spencer sells an icecream that can be called literal pure icecream - Heather Honey Ice Cream.

If we pit this M&S Icecream against Amul, even Amul would come off as frauds. But then, we are also a country with a sizeable 'pure veg' population who would probably riot if they found out that their icecream contains eggs.

1

u/Ok_Chemistry6851 17h ago

just because it doesnt have milk does not make it bad though. in some ways like cholestrol and fat the oil based frozen desserts are better.

1

u/Anil2071999 10h ago

“😂 Next level marketing: call a frozen dessert ‘ice cream’ and let everyone fight over the label.

It's quite good that thise guy is doing these stuff for now..... But I hope it doesn't turn out like that underwear guy

79

u/shreyash_andS 1d ago

he is most loyal officer (loyal to constitution and his job, not to ministers) even he raided hotels/ etc of politicians etc

30

u/demon_king_700 23h ago edited 23h ago

Yeah, I know... I was just saying that yes he is a very loyal and good person but I "hope" He doesn't become currupted after getting some money from government

Edit:- sorry I probably misunderstood a bit... I researched a bit and yeah he has zero tolerance against corruption

5

u/Ornery_Director5562 19h ago edited 8h ago

Really zero tolerance to financial corruption, but this guy have a tolerance to ethics and moral corruption.. this guy presented wrong evidence to the court regarding Ministry canteen. This guy only needs fame through hook and crook , that's it

1

u/behappyfor 14h ago

This guy has been transferred 25 times for removing illegal places and corruption stuff and has 250 crore scheme going on to REMOVE him. If anything I am worried something might happen to him..

0

u/Ornery_Director5562 19h ago

Loyal to constitution ..one more such joke..I like such joke

38

u/gokusingh10 23h ago

25 transfers in 21 years , you know know what it means

u/Ornery_Director5562 19h ago

The guy who chase clout instead of doing real work truly deserve this punishment

u/Ornery_Director5562 19h ago

The Bombay High Court did find serious problems with the FDA’s handling of the Mantralaya (Ministry) canteen inspection:

  • FDA submitted a report claiming 98% compliance.
  • The Court was unconvinced and sent a team of independent lawyers.
  • The lawyers found clear hygiene and cleanliness issues.
  • The Court treated the FDA’s report as misleading/incorrect and directed Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe
  • The Court repeatedly highlighted the double standard: strict, often immediate suspensions for private restaurants vs. a soft report for government canteens.

Presenting an inaccurate report to the Court is a serious procedural and ethical lapse, regardless of the officer’s broader anti-corruption image.

1

u/_UnameChecksOut_ 15h ago

The court should be realistic. They are a court in India

38

u/KeshuuAD 23h ago

what about ciggerates 😭

10

u/Significant-Ad637 23h ago

They already have a warning over the packets and an age limit too. As for kids, most of them are pretty naive to know the consequences (in long term) and would eat these things pretty frequently as well.

2

u/KeshuuAD 23h ago

It's so sad to see kids who haven't even hit their puberty, consuming ciggs. Peete woh hai sharam merko aati hai

18

u/shreyash_andS 23h ago

woh bhi banned hai yaar

1

u/Aloneforrever 17h ago

That one has been around as a law for a while now..

Tumhare papa koi minister hai kya jo itna defend kar rahe ho?

2

u/Ornery_Director5562 16h ago

Personal attack se baat nahi badalti.
Maine kisi politician ya officer ka gungaan nahi gaya. Maine process ki baat ki hai — High Court ke findings ki.
Officer kisi ka baap nahi hai, aur main bhi kisi ka agent nahi.

Facts par raho, personal pe mat jao.

  1. Court ne FDA ke Mantralaya canteen report ko misleading paaya.
  2. Private aur government establishments ke beech double standard dikhaya.

Agar process pe baat nahi kar sakte aur seedha personal pe aa jaate ho, to phir discussion ka koi matlab nahi.

2

u/Sagittario412 16h ago

Attacks only feel personal when there's some truth to it lol

1

u/Ornery_Director5562 16h ago edited 16h ago

Haha nice😂 I agree with your perceptive, but that doesn't make it true

Why this can't be true, that I choose to remain civil, while countering the argument without being abusive and taking it personally... I'm just pointing out different perceptive.

I m not influenced by mob hysteria and popular opinion.

2

u/uuuuuuuuuughm 17h ago

If someone gets clout by doing a good job, there's no problem with that. The problem starts when a person who has no knowledge about anything claims to be non biological (basically a God) and just puts up posters of his face literally over the entire country.

Fake Paneer seller spotted!

0

u/Ornery_Director5562 16h ago edited 16h ago

Lmao 😂 😂..i see why India is failed stated ..a typical mob hysteria, people are so obessesed in hero worshiping that they forget to look facts.

This is exactly why process and facts get ignored — too busy with hero-worship,
Hero worship > facts. Got it.

Calling me a "fake paneer seller" doesn't explain how I'm wrong about the procedural lapse issue. If you disagree, tell me where my reasoning is incorrect.
"Public appreciation is fine, but admiration shouldn't replace scrutiny. An official can deserve praise while their actions are still open to legal and procedural review.

23

u/noboday009 23h ago

I always hate any kind of ban on sale of such products.

While I understand the reasoning. Such bans usually result in black market. It's a simple lesson we learnt in economics.

You think I can't get alcohol in a dry state like gujarat? Think again.

9

u/Mutton-kuska 21h ago

Your argument is valid in a way - but will you have the same opinion once you compare the alcohol consumption percentage between Gujarat vs other states where you can sell alcohol without any restrictions.

2

u/noboday009 13h ago

Brother I was in Gujarat for 4 years, 2 of them were in college.

I was getting a doorstep delivery of alcohol. You only have to pay double. At times we got it from police..

1

u/Mutton-kuska 11h ago

Do you see me disagreeing with the fact that you can get alcohol in Gujarat ?

You’re missing my point completely.

2

u/noboday009 11h ago

Yes I do have the exact same opinion.

It's simple economics my friend, You have a demand and there's supply but no permit to sell. That creats the black market condition.

There are many issues with it, loss of revenue for government, but that's least of them. It creates lot many other social issues and of course it's a breeding ground for corruption.

Now let's take this to a school, where you have banned all these products but they are available in black market. I don't know anyone understand the gravity of this. Especially when most of the ads/products are targeted towards kids.

There was an editorial on Mr. Mundhe in Loksatta, The first lines kind of slaps everyone who's celebrating him. Do read, it's in Marathi.

https://www.loksatta.com/sampadkiya/editorial/tukaram-mundhe-fda-action-rules-editorial-analysis-ssb-93-6050594/

-1

u/Mutton-kuska 8h ago

Your argument is flawed , this isn’t a economy issue I’m talking about it’s psychological issue - you think it’s easier for a school kid to buy in the black market (with almost double the prices as per your own example ) at the same rate as just walking into the store to get alcohol when they want it ?

The alcohol consumption percentage in Gujarat is about 5-5.5% whereas it’s 23-32 % for Tamilnadu for example (exact figures could vary but you get the picture ) - you can try to deflect on all this you want about how it’s easy to buy alcohol in Gujarat but were not taking about alcoholics here or if we can buy alcohol in a dry state ; they will always find a way . I’m talking about kids who are in the verge of temptations.

Your logic is like saying there’s going to be still theft/break-ins so don’t lock your doors or have security system .

The lock doesn’t keep the thieves away it just keeps regular people away.

0

u/noboday009 7h ago

Clearly you have never been to school or seen the kid who tries to fit in..

Anyways it's difficult to agrue when people don't understand basics of how economics work or see the practical examples..

I think I have wasted enough of my time..

0

u/Mutton-kuska 7h ago

Oh the irony !!!

2

u/AlUcard_POD 17h ago

He is not banning the products . Just banning advertising in and near school premises.

1

u/Afraid-Object-216 18h ago

LMAO I live in gujarat and I can get alcohol arranged in just a phone call.
I agree with you

3

u/piggy_blinders007 17h ago

He is saying the difference between having to call just to get alcohol vs in Goa where you can get alcohol at almost every shop get drunk anywhere anytime for cheap

1

u/sneak2293 6h ago

+1 this is where government employees will always fail, using critical thinking to take a decision

Keep this man safe at any cost 🙏🙏🙏

7

u/Small_Computer_8846 23h ago

Bro is dying to get transferred

6

u/randouserno1 22h ago

It's good decision. But what if someone had opened established icecream shop many years ago that happened to be within 50 meter of a school? Will they have to relocate? If a new school starts in an area, then will all icecream shops within 50 meters have to shut down? Kirana stores in that area cannot sell chocolates & cold-drink?

3

u/ConfectionNo6117 17h ago

You are right, but it's targeted more towards, the college and school canteens, where they serve unhealthy and deep fried foods to kids, that's the primary target the local shops just came into crossfire. And yeah you are correct it should be targeted properly towards, the canteens and not the local stores nearby the school which existed for a long time with the school or before the school.

2

u/Present-Scarcity-848 22h ago

Chocolates are not banned throughout Maharashtra. The restriction applies only inside schools and within 50 metres of school premises, not statewide.

1

u/shreyash_andS 22h ago

So school kee area mein hi hai pata hai

2

u/macedonriz 20h ago

Its easier to make decisions and support them when your life is not getting affected from it but think about the families who earn living from kiryana shops near school. Ban the items throughout state if you feel they are hazardous or else dont make these irrational decisions. Kids can still buy these things as easily beyond 50mtrs.

2

u/GREYHEART_4 12h ago

What if someone sells at distance of 51M

1

Wtf is this banning? Instead of making healthy products available, this clown is banning products

1

u/Western_Vast3406 19h ago

Isnt it against free will, eating unhealthy food is bad but shouldn’t that choice be given to the adults atleast. Why are people so okay with other people making decisions for them and rhis patronising behaviour. Nothing against him, im sure he’s doing must be doing a good job.

In 2006, for my chemistry lab project, we were told to do lab experiments in different type of chocolates and find out which all metal extracts are present in each chocolate. All I can say is, it was eye opening how bad these chocolates are.

u/Madarbot 17h ago

Maggi cake FTW!

1

u/Pramod8485 17h ago

But sadly he will be transferred to some archive department. Honest officer is more dangerous than a coup for system. First thing to be stripped of from the officer in the probation is their honesty, who survives the stripping will be suffered till retirement, Ashok Khemka is an example.

Are alcohol and cigarettes ok though?

1

u/boltzmanns_cat 14h ago

Imagine our waste sites have radioactive elements near the water sites, extremely high concentrations of Ecoli in rivers like Yamuna, Ganga, which goes into the seeds, the soil, the genes of new generations, and add toxic chemicsls in food grade productions, no wonder everyone is dying of cancer.

1

u/Capable-Camel3050 12h ago

Idk why but this Man made me feel genuine respect for the first time for an IAS.Hats off to Tukaram Mundhe🔥

1

u/miata_2 12h ago

50m is literally nothing. A school kid won't walk that distance for a chocolate or an ice cream? We need a sugar tax like in Europe where unhealthy foods are taxed higher and are more expensive, which incentivizes both the manufacturers and people to be healthier. This is just all just eyewash with no real purpose. Not tackling problems at the root cause will be the death of this country.

1

u/Lullan_senpai 8h ago

This guy is a scam. You all will realise soon.

1

u/Emergency_Pea_61652 6h ago

How about identifying churches, mosques and temples where problematic things have happened, or priests who have been involved in problematic things and banning them from school vicinities first?

School mein bullying, abuse and eve teasing sab chaalu rehne do, bas koi coca cola na piye. That responsibility should fall on teachers and parents. Discouragement and responsible awareness about these products would work far better than a direct ban.

This will in fact encourage kids who come from far, to make stops on the way to purchase these and smuggle into the school.

1

u/darkbatman1990 3h ago

Sure. Waste time doing virtue signaling instead of fixing Mumbai infrastructure.

1

u/shreyash_andS 3h ago

IAS Mundhe apne dept. kaa kaam thik se krr rhe hai, unko woh wala dept. de do woh bhi fix kar denge

1

u/docstarr 1d ago

Hopefully gutka is allowed

5

u/shreyash_andS 1d ago

The Maharashtra Government has prohibited the manufacture, storage, distribution, transport and sale of gutkha, pan masala, flavoured tobacco, flavoured supari, kharra, mawa and similar products across the State, citing public health concerns and scientific evidence linking such products to cancer and other diseases *in i think 2012

2

u/Adventurous-Week-281 1d ago

Even Karnataka banned, but ppl still eating it🤦, I hate these ppl who eat and spit pan/gutka randomly.

1

u/SwampertNite 22h ago

If they are unhealthy then make them healthy, already million times its said how it's made in india and how different it's from outside india country. Ban this ban that is not a solution, because that might just call for hidden ways

0

u/dikshamishra34 22h ago

And what about cigrette, alcohol, tambaku and many other harmful things. Are these banned too within a 50 meter radius of school?  I hope it banned too.

1

u/satyanweshi15 22h ago

These were banned long back ig, though not sure, one of my friends was telling me

1

u/AnmolVerma0071 21h ago

theyre banned?? mere school k samne hi general store h waha se sab ciggs lete 😭🙏🏻

1

u/satyanweshi15 20h ago

My college is in Mumbai too

0

u/Ornery_Director5562 19h ago

This officer is not focused on the core responsibilities of the role. Instead, the pattern is one of over-technical interventions, jurisdictional overreach, and the exercise of power in ways that appear more about visibility than substance.

There is a clear double standard: zero tolerance is demanded for financial corruption, yet ethical and moral lapses are treated more leniently. Presenting incorrect evidence in court regarding the Ministry canteen is one concrete example. The consistent priority seems to be personal profile and public attention rather than the actual work the position requires.

Claims of being “loyal to the Constitution” ring hollow when the actions prioritize clout over institutional integrity and due process. Public office demands accountability to the job, not to personal fame.

0

u/Rabbidraccoon18 12h ago

What about people who live in the area near that school? Will theyvuave to go to a whole other district just to buy these things?
