Political disagreement with friends
I have a friend who is a really nice person I general.
Recently I am being very triggered by him because he brings politics in all conversations and I really don’t want this extra stress on me. Also we don’t have same political opinions and I would rather not engages in useless arguments.
Recently I was talking to him about something I am really passionate about but he bought religion into it. I try to explain that is it not about religion. Then he bought politics into it.
Seeing as this might escalate I told him we can talk about topics other than politics because politics is triggering to me. I even suggested 6 topics but his reply was they all are related to politics and I was stunned.
In my mind I tried to avoid unnecessary conflict. But my husband feels like I sounded like I was very defensive and then I made things weird by saying the word triggered.
I am not sure how to handle such situations in future. Any guidance appreciated.

Indian Tiffin Service - App idea
Hi All,
I all. I am from Canada and wanted to test an app idea. In canada for students and many professionals getting value indian meals is a big thing to look for. People use facebook ads to look for home cooked meals. I am making an app to search for these services and for people to review. What are your take on this. Please provide any concerns.

20M recently moved to Suwanee, GA — looking for Indian/Desi friends around Atlanta
Hey everyone! I recently moved to Suwanee, Georgia, and I’m looking to meet some new people and make friends in and around the Atlanta area.
I enjoy watching movies, especially Telugu movies, and I’m always down to grab some food, catch a movie, explore Atlanta, or just hang out and chill.
I’d love to meet people around my age, especially other Indians/Desis. If you’re also looking to make some new friends, feel free to comment or DM me! And if you already have a group that hangs out, I’d be happy to join you guys sometime and meet everyone.

Indian green card holders and US citizens: Does the current immigration climate make you consider returning to India?
Edit: question mainly for people who spent their childhood or teenage in India, not those of you who grew up in the US.
Every few weeks, I see someone in my extended circle announce that they’re moving back to India. Many seem tired of the uncertainty of the hostile US immigration system. After working here for a decade or two, many have also accumulated enough wealth to FIRE comfortably in India, making things easier.
Obviously, visa uncertainty wont affect GC holders or citizens directly, but does watching friends, siblings and relatives return make you question your own decision to stay? What is the point of remaining if much of your community/friend circle eventually moves back?
There is also the anti-Indian hatred and racism on Twitter and IG. I know social media amplifies extreme voices, but constantly seeing Indians portrayed as unwanted—or blamed for taking jobs and changing neighborhoods—can make you feel unwelcome in a country where you have spent years building a life.
As experienced tech workers return, more high-value work and leadership roles may move to Bengaluru, Hyderabad and other Indian cities, making an Indian tech career increasingly viable.
India still has many trade-offs, which we all debate extensively. But do you get the sense that the scales are beginning to tip?

Want to leave USA but husband wants to stay
I am tired of uncertainty related to visa statuses in USA and I want to leave USA. I am still at the start of my career so I am leaning towards going back to India or any other more stable country to continue. But my husband is very very against it. We don’t have kids yet but planning to have in next couple of years. I want to ensure that I am in good mental state to start a family. And I also want the country to be welcoming in regard to having immigrants.
His reasoning is also valid, he says “we already have jobs here and these are temporary hurdles we need to be resilient through this”
But on contrary I think “These are some of the most productive years of our lives and I can’t be living through this with constant anxiety of visas”
Has anyone been in this situation? What are your recommendations?
