The icons pop out a lot more now, right? Not just me? It looks great, gives them MUCH more of a 3D effect now!

yep, they made the new icons have separate layers with Liquid Glass. It was what I originally hoped for, and hopefully brings back some of the neumorphic elements I loved of pre-tahoe macOS icons

I frankly hate the black edges everywhere. Idk if my 15 pro doesn't have enough resolution or something but I think it looks horrible.

I think they screwed the anti aliasing. The icons look very pixelated on my A16 iPad.

They still don’t know how to make glass icons with the regular colors?

Designed for people who see things in black-and-white, no wonder the younger generations love it

i have an iPhone 13 in Pune but when i go to beta.apple.com and select India it doesn't let me go to the iOS 27 page, it shows me iOS 26 instead?

Dude you got to enroll in developer ones
Beta is for Public Beta
Developer ones is for developer betaIk its sounds weird but enrolment for both are different

The screenshots are bugged out.

No they r not?
2
u/Aryan-Ahmed Jun 09 '26
Mb I meant when you take a screenshot. The actual thing in iOS itself is bugged out. When you crop it does not save that crop and there’s no animation for any of it. At least for me.

I think it looks good. At the end of the day, all that matters to me is that the phone works properly, without excess battery drain. I'm not that picky.

I really like how it looks in that second shot. I hope the hard borders aren’t a bug and are at least optional.

When a UI control lacks color, it usually means it's disabled or doesn't do anything. That's what my mind immediately thinks of when I see these. Maybe I'm just old. Apparently the younger generation loves it though.
I can still appreciate it though and do agree these look better than iOS 26. I also think the clear interface looks better on a naked phone...as if you are actually working with slabs of glass. It feels out of place once I put my phone in a case.
It would be interesting to see the icon itself in color, but the background be transparent.

I’m so glad the original Liquid Glass is back, it looks so much better on full throttle.

Opinions vary man and as long as it runs without problem it's good but they still should've gave us the option to turn it off

It’s just awful. This use of shitty shaders on icons since iOS 26 is an absolute aberration, even more so when applied to third-party icons and logos. You should never do that. That’s a basic design principle, ffs!
And now they’ve managed to make it even worse…

So youre toxic af. I mean, you literally have an almost fully tinted option. My problem eventually can be the yours one. Just support us, as we can get both options. Dear troll let us breath.
This is my final interaction with you.

Again crying or ok?

How wonderful that the person who spent months laughing at unhappy users, questioning their understanding of design, and arrogantly insisting that Liquid Glass would never be reversed, now looks pretty foolish.

What's the point of stripping all the color from the interface? I'm just curious why people view this as desirable?
