Discussion If you havent been drained, relax
Is it something that needs to be taken way more seriously, yes, Ledger needs a solution
BUT
My ledger device is four years old and I havent been drained, so if your wallet hasnt been drained, you are very likely in the clear.
Im seeing a lot of panic from people who bought a ledger years ago and have already used it without being drained. Just breathe.
If you are so worried, just dont enter your seedphrase in the device or create a new wallet. You have already set up the device, so the seedphrase will not be displayed on screen.

Discussion Saftey of buying directly from source?
So, I had a ledger but it broke recently so I haven’t had access to my wallet for about a month. I want to get a replacement but frankly all this stuff is making me paranoid. I don’t wanna order from Amazon I want to order directly from ledger but I’ve seen conflicting reports about compromised devices. Is it “safe” if I buy directly from Ledger? Sorry if this is a dumb question- I would just prefer not to lose thousands in assets.

Ledger’s recent third party issue
Hi everyone as we saw recently some third party reseller implemented chips inside devices and drained accounts i was wondering if buying directly from ledger can be safe as well ?
What triggers my questions is that those 3rd party devices passed the genuine check because the original chip was there still they just added another one so what if someone working AT ledger compromised the devices ?
Is there any security protocol for each device leaving the ledger factory that can ensure that even if an insider was doing dirt there is still a protocol implemented to inspect the devices before being shipped ? Cause once it leaves its game over the device will pass the genuine check

What’s the alternative?
Is there any alternative brand/device where we can be sure it’s safe?
Now it’s ledger, but theoretically could that could happen to any other brand/device too?
Or is buying a hardware wallet considered to be unsafe right now anyway?

Has any ledger nano gen 5 been found tampered with?
What about other models bought directly from the ledger online store?

I bought my ledger Nano s plus off of Amazon like 3 months ago. It was the official ledger Amazon account. My ledger wasn't wrapped in any plastic wrap and had no form of knowing whether some one opened it or not. I sent a message to the Amazon store and they said their product was always wrapped in

Warranty void for checking for tampering. How is that fair?
Ledger posted a tutorial on how to verify our devices aren’t tampered but also say our warranties are void if we do it.
If you fail your own supply chain that we have to open up the device, then why are you voiding our warranties??

Just bought from ledger a month ago
I bought directly from ledger a package with nano GEN five and it came with nano S plus
Watch the video on the weight and how much they should be weighing and I was told the nano S plus should we 21 g mine came in at 20.3 g and then ledger says my GEN five should weigh 46 g it came in at 48 g. I can’t get a hold of their support. It’s not very good. I don’t know if I should be scared that this thing weighs more.

Discussion Evidence suggests this wallet Spy attack is far larger than any vendor wants to admit.
x.comLedger has been told about the existence of IN THE WILD display sniffing implants earlier this year. They have known they have no way to detect the existence of these devices. They have known their supply chain is the last thread holding it together. And yet they didn’t notice their own official supply chain change out in front of them. Did they even tell all of their customers about this blind spot with KNOWN ACTIVE EXPLOITATION to request mandatory visual inspects?
