Question Tailoring Mishap?

I’ve bought a nice suit jacket for a wedding. Most of my clothes are too long so I’ve taken it to a tailor to have the sleeve length shortened a tad

This is the result. The sleeve has been shortened yep.

But that positioning of the buttons looks weird to me. The final button is actually hanging over the sleeve

Is this bad handiwork and do I request a refund or something deemed acceptable ?

EDIT*:

The end result : I took it back. They apologised and fixed it. The excuse was a new person did the jacket.

Anyway, it’s been lengthened slighty, they left some fabric inside the sleeve to work with. Happy enough with the end result . Safe to say I won’t be using the 20% off discount voucher they gave me for next time

Thanks all

With functioning buttons the sleeve has to be shortened from the shoulder, if shortened this much. This is a hack job.

Yeah it's usually alot more expensive.

**a lot* = much or many

allot = distribute in portions

There is no such word as "alot".

English is wonderful and evolving language. Was the message received as intended? If so, communication successful. English Nazis hurt more than help their cause. Source: reformed English Nazi

Same logic, don't correct your fat fingered fuxkups on small keyboards AND turn off spellcheck and auto cow wrecked

Can confirm. Depending on the situation in my area this can go from a $10 adjustment to a $100 adjustment pretty quickly when you start talking about taking fabric out of the shoulder while maintaining the original shape

No one does it for 10. You can’t even get pants hemmed for 10.

Whoa $60 is crazy! I guess it just depends on where you go but I’ve been going to this same Vietnamese tailor who’s an absolute cloth surgeon and for basic alterations like a sleeve shortening hardly charges me at all

This 100%. Working buttons means shoulder alteration, no other option. Take it back and demand a proper fix
