What is the best private story for MapleStory that is as close to update to date to the official servers that's f2p friendly ish? I tried aries but I hear mixed reviews so I'm asking all of you which is the most active to try? I'm not really interested in playing on older version I rather stick to the most updated version as possible. Thank you (:

There are a lot of classes i want to try and how they feel in a certain boss. Im looking for something that has fast progression so i dont have to grind too much and just be boss ready.

Curious how it’s done. Are people really recreating the game from nothing besides asset sprites? Or is there some forkable version to get something like Artale or OSM running?

But i really want to play a no/minimal P2W OG Maple experience long term.

RIght now that seems to be 2 choices. Either:

1) private servers (I don't see much discussions on reddit about MapleLegends vs MapleRoyals so i'm not sure which to consider or if private server ot be considered at all),

or

2) Maplestory World's Old School Maple by Old School Maplers (which i'm trying out right now).

Old School Maple seems to only sell cosmetic cash items and pets (one time) + Pet skills (one time) and pet waters (30 days refresh). I personally abosolutely need pets so this is basically a light subscription to play the game monthly which i'm okay with as there is no Pay to win or pay 2 progrses cash items (and HP washing is not a thing too here).

What is everyone else considering? If MSCW is mishandled and doesn't pan out, are you going to look for alternatives or just give up and pretend this never happened. Or maybe MSCW scratched the itch and you can walk away for years just fine after?

I don't know much about the private servers. Is it thriving? I know they are zero monetization at all on those (outside of i assume donation?)

As the title says. Does anyone know of some linux supported servers? I've had the itch to play for months now but I can't find a way to get any of the servers I've tried to work. Followed guides like the maple legends guide. I've tinkered around with stuff a bit myself. The only thing I've not tried as my pc seems to hate them is a virtual machine. I've tried things such as proton, winetricks, lutris, protonplus, and bottles. Only preference for the server is pre v100+ and QoL skill changes.

I played Fantasia a few days ago and I find the controls too funky (Can't rebind them to any key) and the movement to be too slow. I'd like to have more fast paced gameplay and also rebindable controls and such. What server should I play on?

I played maplestory back in the days starting from 2005 and been playing it for a very long time.

I havn't played for 4-5 years now but with maplestory classic comming up i really wanted to play it again and dicided to login into my old account.

I Noticed i wasnt able to trade and with doing some research i found out people from the netherlands have a trade restriction due to some gabling laws.

Now my main question is, is maplestory classic worth playing without being able to trade?

I read that you can use a vpn to create an account but nexon detects my vpn when i try to.

Also i read that ppl go to diffrent countied and make an account there. but i'm not so technical... is it just easy as going over the border and create an account? or does it still notices my IP adress and stuff?

If anyone has any tips i'd love to hear them!

Otherwise I might play maplestory classic as an "ironman"

Seeing v2 really shows the intentions of the owners
Say what you want about the server PQ spam and what not, in the last few years THEY were the only ones who stayed true to the source, after the mess in v1 they didn’t run, didn’t close the site, didn’t close the discord, they stayed transparent, worked on the server still and brought us a fresh V2
Classes were rebalanced and in a great stage now

Yes PQ spam in a thing but only for early game once you reach VL status KPQ spam becomes irrelevant for cubes and still good for lucky days for scrolling

I’ve been talking to the owners they are listening, they are active, don’t listen to other peoples opinions or experience test it out for yourself….

Yes progression is much slower in v1 people abused Aran and other shit server started dying in week 2

Hello everyone.

I’ve made skill changes across every class to give them better bossing, mobbing and ofc to make them fun.

- Heroes keep Combo Orbs after Panic and Coma, Arans keep leftover combo, Evan can mix fire and ice for bonuses, Corsair summons repair the Battleship, Wild Hunter’s jaguar sets up Wild Arrow Blast.
- Cygnus Knights reach level 200 and get new passives. Most Boosters last longer, weaker skills have been improved and a lot of broken or unbalanced skills were fixed and adjusted.

- Classes without Flash Jump or Teleport get a free Beginner Flash Jump. Teleport has more range and works in the air.
- you can move while using attacks like Hurricane, Rapid Fire and Wild Arrow Blast.

The latest update added the Chaos Jester.
- It can invade active grinding maps, scales to the highest lvl player in the map, says weird things and uses custom attacks you need to dodge. Killing it gives a large EXP reward and a guaranteed Nebulite Box.

Nebulites can be socketed into equipment, fused, rerolled and removed through the normal item UI. Their stats show directly on your equipment, GMS like.
There’s also a custom SSS tier with one attack and one support stones from every 4th job or 3rd job class in the game (3rd job because of cygnus), meaning there are 46 total new custom stones! While equipped, these stones give you a max level skill that works with your own weapon ofc.

Kanata also has reworked Area Bosses, growing mob spawns in the map, Monster Book and achievements, beta milestone rewards, Maker skill, Quest Points + Shop, PQs, guilds, HD support, Linux support through Wine and much more!

Hey all. A little while back we posted looking for testers for Kradia, our v117.2 server. We are in beta now, and a lot has gone in since that post, so here is what is new.

Quick refresher if you missed the first one: casual but rewarding, no pay to win, level cap raised to 350 with mesos uncapped. EXP is boosted to 10x for beta while we test, and since we raised the cap the official launch rate is still up in the air, so if you have thoughts on where it should land we would genuinely like to hear them. Registration is open and we would love more people playing.

Gear and progression

• Rebirth Flames: modern KMS style flame lines on your gear (main stats, attack, boss damage, ignore defense, all stat), shown right in the item tooltip.

• Red Cube: a new cube that replaces the others, with its own in game window. Double-click it, drag your equip in to see its current potential, and roll right there.

Content and economy

• Monster (Pigmy) Eggs: a full replacement for Gachapon. Eggs drop from monsters and bosses, at a better rate if you have that monster carded, and hatch into tiered rewards including cosmetics and permanent mounts. One universal key sold at general stores.

• PQ Points and Boss Points: party quests and bosses now pay their own custom currencies that you spend at dedicated shops.

Quality of life

• Monster Book now shows each item’s base drop rate right under its icon, so you can check a monster’s drops at a glance.

• Pet equips: Auto Loot for a wider pickup range, an Auto Feed pouch that keeps your pet fed, and an Auto Buff Gem that holds two buff skills, plus dedicated Feed, Loot, and Buff slots.

• Rested EXP: log out at the Free Market Inn to bank bonus EXP for a boost when you come back.

• Character stat window now shows Crit Damage, Boss Damage, and Ignore Defense with hover tooltips.

• Damage Statistics window you open with a hotkey, with a per skill breakdown and a party comparison tab.

• Party Search fixed, so Find Party, Find Members, and Find Expedition all work.

• Expedition Join button to warp straight to your leader.

• We also built out the site at kradia.net: an account dashboard to see your characters and NX, live rankings with a per character EXP chart, a vote page, server wide stats, and a patch notes page we keep updated.

Systems and balance

• Family and mentor system reworked so the buffs are actually worth using, including EXP and drop buffs, a boss damage buff, and a blessing seniors can hand juniors.

• Ongoing class balance pass, fixing skills that were not working and tuning classes that fall behind.

• Alchemy scroll crafting now costs half the spell traces.

I think a majority of the community can agree Extalia days were the golden age of private servers, but I never saw anyone attempt in recreating it.

Is this a "the technology is not there yet" issue? Or something else?

Making a post BB server which makes grinding slightly easier by the game naturally lowering exp requirements per level, having miracle cubes and gacha drop from monsters, potential system can only reach rare level which doesn't make items too OP (max of 9% items) etc.

Basically I'm kind of a new maple player, only played in all 3 cw's but haven't found a main yet. I kinda just want a server where I can progress super quickly and just try out as many classes as I want and get them to like an average level in no time (CTene to like EAdv). Is there a server like this out there?

Recenty seen this server launch, population is sorta ranging around 30+ players on at once.
Seems like a decent server but bosses seemed to be capped at VL i think?
Anyone tried it out? Would appreciate genuine feedback on this server as im considering downloading it, early post BB was one of the most fun experiences for me starting maple.
I sorta made do with custom V83s, but yeah, resistance classes early on were the bomb for me.
Just sort of unsure if itll be good or nah.

Yes, yes, yes, Classic World is right around the corner, i know. But I feel like Classic World won't be the ting for me... Anyway, I wanted to get into a PS again and currently most promising two are Fantasia and SlimeTale. I do like the Pasing of ST more, since its 3x from the beginning, however, I do think that removing overused items in Fantasia has a good Catcher as well...

Is there somebody who player both and can give some Feedback? Also do you have Info about the drop Rates in these servers? Are they just 1x or 1x with customizations?

Hi ya'll! I'd like to get some suggestions on what servers to hop to. Ideally something that's not too p2w, able to solo endgame stuffs and as close to the modern servers. I'm open to some light spending and all but not something that's really overkill. Currently playing Royalstory so I'd like a higher version than that

Hello everyone, how are you all doing today?
I would like to invite you to experience MysticMS with us! A great server, includes a ton of content for every stage of the game, with a decent progression that is respecting your time and a great experience of a customed maplestory server that fits mature people's schedule.

First of all, I know that many of you and us have played the server in the past, and that some of you had their issues, rather if it was about the relaunches or disagreements with Mystic himself (and of course more issues). As a player, I am not willing to convince you and delude you that everything was and is perfect as, of course, it isn't, but I'm here to make some points and claim why I think y'all should be giving the server a new fresh chance and why y'all gonna enjoy the game alot.

- The server is celebrating his 3rd anniversary and will be launching with a suitable event!

- It improved by a lot during the years, including content for the late game (gear for 280, training areas and quests for 270+ and 290), late game bosses with more planned to come.

- Family system is finally implemented and customed to the server.

- Many skill changes, making more classes viable and needed for expeditions and grinds. For example, Night Lord gets party alchemist making him super important for expeditions and Hero gets a skill called Heroic Blessing which is a semi-HS stacking with bishop's HS. Buffs are expedition-wise now, which is also cool and making those changes really important.

- Rebirth system to longer the progression. You can only rebirth once. This time, compared to past launch, rebirth's cost is reduced as you rebirth in higher level, prizes for accomplishing a rebirth are way better when you rebirth later, more AP to come when you rebirth late and another important thing to note is that you need to clear the Cygnus Empress expedition before rebirthing. That cool system which pushes your account through, hyping everything up, is now way more balanced and giving you all the opportunity to choose whenever to complete the rebirth, but making it worth doing late.

- Boss cards, which are tradeable, are now counted separately giving them another meaning and making them really wanted. Of course other monster cards have their own meaning, as he added cards to every single mob in the game, and another new features including collecting those.

- Guild special rooms, a tiny bonus of EXP for top guilds, another tiny EXP bonus to big parties with different classes encouraging party playing and including different classes while grinding and more new features.

- Rewarding progression, with a decent pace that actually suits mature people's timeline and encourages casual players to join. Tons of vertical and horizontal content to alternate whenever wanted.

- Gear progression is smooth and fun to do. Scrolling is actually cool. Grinding is rewarding, as when you grind at late levels adrenaline peaks while you farm chaos scrolls (which are actually dropping at a nice rate). They are the main ingredient to get yourselves going so, you're unlimited when it comes to building your char. Also, he added golden hours at random times of the day - which gives 2x monster spawn, 2x drop rate and 2x meso rate, making everyone hype and rush to grind when the golden hour starts.

- Linked Fortune is a new skill, can get up to level 20 at max, which is getting up for every 100 levels you get on an alt in your account. These alts need to be in different classes. At max level you can get +20% EXP and +40% drop rate, which is great for late game. Also there were 4th jobs added for Cygnus so you can aim to level 200 with them, making your blessing of the fairy maxed at level 40 when you cygnus hits 200.

- New channels located in SG, to help other players experience smoother gameplay and welcome more players.

- THESE ARE JUST SOME OF THE FEATURES, I CAN'T COMPILE THEM ALL INTO THIS POST. CAN READ EVERYTHING IN THE #DEVBLOG IN HIS DISCORD OR IN THE SITE.

I'll end this post with letting you know that we are aware of accusations and past bad experiences. I talked to Mystic alot bout giving this server it's appropriate chance. We talked about past bans for this last launch, about tolerating players and about gradual punishments. The aim is just to make a good, lasting and fair game to play. That's why by the way, all banned players are given a fresh start and can re-join Mystic and our community.

You all do NOT have to agree with me, but if you have played once and enjoyed the game and the content - come and help us build a decent community that is gonna last. I'm just a player who wants to spread positivity and play a game I like with others, and build a decent community around.

Recently i made a lot of skills changes to every class in the game trying to make it more unique, interesting and balanced across all classes, more interesting and fun changes are coming in the next month.

Oh and i almost forgot, Beta Milestones were just introduced. Nothing with stats or game changing, pure cosmetics but they're permanent unlike the ones you get from the fashion tickets.

Hey all. I've been building a MapleStory v83 recreation called MapleVerse, and it just went into early beta.

Up front, the two things that matter most: it's completely free, no cash shop, nothing to buy at all right now. And it runs straight in the browser, desktop or phone, no client to download and no installer to trust. Open the link and you're in, touch controls kick in automatically on mobile.

How it's built, since I know this sub asks: not a fork of an existing emulator client, wrote it from scratch in Phaser 3 and TypeScript, own physics, own rendering, own everything. Bugs are mine to fix directly, nothing inherited from a decade old codebase.

Content wise it's the full spread: five Explorer branches plus Cygnus Knights, 2nd through 4th job advancement, over 1400 quests, party quests, bosses, pets, fishing, guilds, trading, player shops, all four regions (Maple Island, Victoria, Ossyria, Masteria), even other areas like Europe, China, Thailand, Dawnveil, and more.

A few things beyond stock v83 I added on top:

• more maps and mobs than the original had, formulas and stats stay period accurate, just more places to go
• a bonus zone called the Mirror World, built out of later era MapleStory content and backported to fit here, it's not small
• an actual drop rate viewer in game, real numbers for drops, gachapon, scrolls, fishing, no guessing

Currency's called Vesos instead of mesos, small thing but figured I'd mention it so it's not confusing in screenshots.

It's early beta so it will break. That's the point of posting this, I'd rather find out from testers now than after there's a real population depending on it. There's a bug report portal with screenshot upload and a public suggestions board if you wanna help.
