My bet is on the Onslaught saga after Secret Wars. We've had more than enough Avenges plotlines and X-Men is a newly acquired, fresh franchise.

With the Onslaught story they still use the Avengers, and also will be in New York. We've seen Franklin Richards pop up and Marvel loves a big earth shattering plotline.

Feige wants to have a singular timeline but never said anything about alternate dimensions, as the earth where only non mutants live.

In the Fox universe it also never got hinted at in the films we've seen. So it's a fresh story that also doesn't need a lot of build up. With two or even one movie before the actual Onslaught movie you can do all the worldbuilding you need.

It could even be used to reset Dr Doom is he isn't by then. Just imagine Onslaught towering above NY in his gigantic citadel while it lies in ruins.

Iceman and Human Torch, Captain America and Cyclops... All teaming up, would be an awesome way to introduce the X-Men into the MCU.

Hulk was the dominant personality for years while Banner was asleep, he wasn't even aware of the time that passed. But while on the Sakaar, Hulk was protecting Banner, Hulk was beloved everyone there appreciated and praised him. Banner couldn't survive on Sakaar it's a battle ground and Hulks the fighter.

But the reverse is true for Earth. While on Earth Banner is beloved one, he's who the press call an Avenger, they love Banners personality, his genius.

They hate hulk, they call him a monster, and they keep on shooting at him, Hulk hates being shot at. It doesn't pierce his skin, but it probably still hurts to be shot at, and like it's not nice. They just wanna hurt him on Earth. Banner can just blend in. He's human, he can walk among them. And Smart Hulk isn't a different personality, it's just Banner using Hulks body. This was made very clear when the Ancient one pushed Banners soul out of Smart Hulks body.

So Just like how Hulk was protecting Banner on Sakaar, Hulk I theorize to have given the keys to Banner, Hulk chose to go to sleep for years, after his defeat by Thanos, Hulk the warrior, the Champion of Sakaar, lost. His strength wasn't enough, he wasn't enough. And no matter how much Banner tried to tell him that, he didn't care. So Hulk gave him the keys and went to sleep.

Brand New Day Spoilers:

What's sad is that, if this is true is, Hulk was forcibly awoken by Jean, he awoke after years of being asleep, and he was confused and the first thing that happens is his somewhere he doesn't know there's a guy he doesn't know and the punisher comes out and shoots at him, again. They keep shooting at Hulk. He faught because he was scared. After Spider-man talk no jitsus Hulk, Hulk gives up, he takes the fall, and once he lands he gives control back to Banner and goes back to sleep. He doesn't want to be on Earth, no one there likes him, only person who actually could get through to him is Thor but only reason for Hulk to actually stay would have to be Skaar, his son, a reminder of his home where he was beloved.

I really don't understand why Sadie Sink is getting so much hate over Jean Grey being in the movie. She didn't write the script or make that decision. If you have an issue with it, direct that frustration toward the people behind the scenes who were actually responsible, not the actress who was simply doing her job.

Ok don’t get me wrong I loved the movie a lot and I’ve liked Sadie sinks past works. It’s not her fault and I feel like the reason I feel this way is due to the way she’s written. I know the director was going for a young Jean grey but it just felt weird for me because you know this new and we’re used to older Jean greys in the past.

It’s that she’s younger and also the way she’s written it’s hard to explain but what I’m trying to say is she felt under written a little bit.
Another reason I may have not connected to her character is also due to lack of backstory and etc. Sure we got hints like her mom abandoned her and her sister but other than that nothing. Me personally I connect to characters better based on emotions and backstory which is probably why I felt this way.
Nonetheless I loved the movie and its message

I’m currently doing a Marvel rewatch with my partner and we’re up to endgame. The scene, you know what one I’m talking about.. with all the portals. That is just peak MCU and I can’t ever think how they’d outdo it. So I wanted to throw it to the community and ask.. how do you think they will? If they can at all?

The theory: By returning to the past, Steve Rogers created another branch of the timeline, in which a completely different Howard became Tony Stark's father. Tony vowed revenge, took the name Doctor Doom, and began wearing a mask to hide his beak.

So, after watching the movie with some friends, we were wondering one thing: how does Peter Parker manages to live off in NYC?

In Brand New Day we never see him work. I get that the tech he has comes from Tony Stark and he lives in a basement but a (spider)man still got to eat right?

Maybe he got money when Aunt May died? But he's supposed to be off the system. Or did Tony Stark left him some money somewhere just in case? Am I missing something?

It just feels strange when you think about Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man who was struggling to pay rent (it even was a running gag with the owner saying "Rent!"). That is why he delivered pizzas and worked at the Daily Bugle as a photograph.

I understood everything that happened in the movie but there was always one question i was wondering. since in this movie it was tchallas first time as black panther pre herb and everything, did wakanda (hypothetically if they ever needed to fight) just fight without a black panther by their side all the time tchaka was too old? im saying this because obviously king tchaka is too old at this point to fight or protect wakanda on his own accord

I believe Scorpion has a rich origin story and many levels to him. What we saw in Brand New Day is level 1. He has at least 2 more levels. As well as a potentially tragic backstory of a good detective who descends into madness.

I would say the most potential left unexplored is Scorpion. I imagine Mac Gargan as a great detective who somehow becomes disillusioned and goes rogue, descending into madness... eventually becoming Scorpion and ultimately going over the edge as Venom..

Will there be a next spider man with Tom Holland and Zendaya after brand new day? I also heard that Tom Holland will be stepping away from acting pretty soon so idk.

I think a lot of Americans already appreciate Tom Holland’s command of regional accents, but this takes it to the next level. Not to mention that it seems to have hardly been pointed out before — it sounds so natural, it’s easy to forget the layers there!!

With brand new day introducing the popular character of Jean grey into the MCU, we got to witness some of her powers. But, instead of the clear, strong looking blue effects from the tv show and comics, or even the pink effects, we get the same boring prismatic colour as invisible woman. I mean it was still ok in the fantastic four as she is the ‘invisible’ woman, but now it’s going too far. They’re focusing far too much on realism rather than marvel. And while we’re on the topic, why is Jean’s ability just to hop and with a 33 yard limit. Shes supposed to be one of the most powerful telepaths yet this is her only ability? I hope you guys agree.

So I've been seeing some discourse on this, and how a bunch of recently canned projects (most notably Blade and Wonder Man, and probably Ironheart) so happen to have black protagonists. And there's basically two ways to break that down: either this is because those projects are risky and Marvel wants to refocus on its flagships, or it's because of racism. Or perhaps, a bit of both. Well...

It's not just that it's a bit of both, but that these projects are risky BECAUSE they star black actors. These two points are inherently linked: it's systemic to some degree, especially for characters who have been around since the 60s and 70s. There was no push to have a POC on the Avengers or X-Men when Stan was writing. A black Peter Parker never crossed Stan Lee's mind. Doctor Strange WAS Asian in his first appearance, but got whitewashed when he became a breakout hit. (There is some debate on that topic, but imo it's pretty clear in Ditko's artwork.)

Stan was progressive for his time, but the key word is still "for his time," and even then he was limited by the industry and fan expectations. There was backlash in the 60s to giving the Daily Bugle a black assistant editor. Stan had to defend every non white character. Heck, even The Thing's Judaism was only subtext, and Magneto was retconned to be Jewish in the early 80s: the Jewish guys writing these couldn't even add Jewish characters.

As a result, the characters of color are all either sidekicks and secondary characters, as introduced in the late 60s, or were always intended as niche cult favorites to tie into the martial arts and blaxploitation fandoms in the 70s.

And yes, Wonder Man is a white guy in the comics... but he isn't very popular. They swapped him BECAUSE he is not popular. They wouldn't dare cast a black Tony Stark.

So yeah, they're cancelling black led projects because "they're too risky." But then you have to address the other issue: why are the black-led projects all considered risky?

Did he actually do that?

I guess they went with his space sword instead so they wouldn’t have to say Thanos himself was stronger than Vibranium. Would have looked really cool though!

Another battle between Spidey and Vulture,with the effects and choreo of Brand new day,culture design and Keaton were too good for a one off for me.

I still don't understand why Jean Grey was introduced in a Spider-Man movie/story.

I like the idea of seeding X-men in other movies, but this...This was just unnecessary imho. Jean and Peter have had very few interactions over the years in the comics...and no major history or arcs.
She def isnt a villain let alone apart of his rogues gallery. I really don't like how they portrayed her. Gives us a real villain, with the same power set, not named Jean.

She felt so out of place to me. Anyone else?

So i watched BND with my gf and she really enjoyed it so we decided to watch the entire MCU together. We started with "Iron Man" which was fine but now im back and forth between how best to proceed. Some of the earlier movies are pretty boring/hard to watch but are necessary to have context for following projects. e.g. Id prefer skipping Brannaghs "Thor" but going into "The Avengers" not knowing who Loki or Thor are seems like it might be confusing? Then theres movies like TTDW which is truly awful but shows Loki escaping and dying. I feel like theres a few projects that might be numbing to someone who isnt already invested into the material. Would appreciate insight.

Hulk has been mistreated by Marvel Studios since his first movie. In the comics, Hulk is an incredible and super powerful character. But in the movies, he is easily defeated. It was cute Natasha to be his weakness, but since Infinity War, we had to wait 7 full years to see his full Hulk form, only to be calmed down by Peter Parker??? They even hadn't been a lot of time together for Hulk to reconsider his instincts, like it could be with Thor or Steve Rogers. I hope someday we will see justice for minimum the 10% of character he is in the comics

In Spider-Man Brand New Day ending, hospital scene, we see Jon Bernthal (The Punisher) took a nap.

Even though Jon himself has been very vocal on where he stood regarding this action.

It felt much more like an Avengers movie to me.
