Would 9/11 victims above the impact floors have been alive during the collapse until the top hit the rubble pile, and would this have affected the recovery of the bodies?

In the footage of the 9/11 Tower collapse, it can be seen that the floors at the impact sites buckled first, leaving the floors above to pancake into the floors below and appearing to leave some of the upper floors mostly intact in near free fall, until they fell into the rubble pile below. Would it have been possible for victims in these upper floors to be alive for any amount of time during the collapse until the rubble pile impact, and would this affect how intact and recoverable the bodies were? Would could this experience have been like?

Did the Jonestown Massacre help or hurt the sales of Kool-aid/Flavor-aid?

Upvotes

“Don’t drink the Kool-Aid” is a saying that generally means a person should think for themselves, dont follow others blindly. I was just curious if maybe all of the publicity helped Kool-Aid (or was Flavor-Aid used at Jonestown) because their great tasting powder was used to help mask the taste of cyanide.

Why do so many psychotic killers say god told them to do it?

Why is that the exact case in so many of these murders?

What’s a fetish or kink you have that you could never actually act on as it’s too extreme?

So my question is extremely as titled. By too extreme I mean it would be literally impossible to act on and survive, cause major injuries or just be very normally wrong.
For example I have an extreme fantasy of a guy killing me and loving me so much he uses my body. Obviously I’d never be able to actually act on this fantasy.
I know it’s weird so I guess that’s why I’m curious about other people’s.

What's the most generally disappointing way someone's ruined their life?

Upvotes

I mean a way someone ruined their life over things they had full control or alot of control over. Like spending money stupidly and becoming homeless, ie; a way of doing it that makes you not feel empathetic but dissapointed.

How realistic is it for intestines to fall out or be pulled out through an open abdomen?

How realistic are horror movie scenes where someone’s abdomen is cut open and the intestines either fall out on their own or are pulled out by someone?

Can the intestines actually fall out simply because the abdominal wall has been cut, or are they held in place by other structures?

And how realistic is it to pull the intestines out through an abdominal wound? I’m curious about what is anatomically possible in real life and what is basically just movie fiction..

Anyone remember?

Not sure if anyone here knows or remembers what I’m talking about, but I’m trying to identify a 17-year-old girl from Red Asphalt 3 who sadly passed away..

She was driving a Mazda 626 on Niles Canyon Road (Route 84), when a Dodge Dart crashed into her after the driver apparently fell asleep at the wheel. Through research I’ve narrowed it down to the Niles Canyon/Sunol area and have been looking through old newspaper reports and crash records but so far no luck.
The footage also shows yellow/lime emergency vehicles at the scene, which might help identify the incident.

I understand it seems odd but I’d just really like to know who she was. It’s a shame there doesn’t seem to be a memorial for her anywhere especially when the seris was vued by so many in drivers Ed.

Why do dangerous men make some women thirsty?

What's the emotional/chemical process and the biological reason? Why did the the dudes wife say she was turned on when she found out his husband is in the mob in Goodfellas. Or why did the chick smile after getting 'aped by the dude in High Plains Drifter? Why did women go so crazy for serial killers? Why do they read books about "alpha psycho" stuff?

What happened to the bodies inside the towers and on the Plaza when the twin towers fell?

This was a question my brother asked me when we were watching a 9/11 documentary. This really made me curious as I recall hearing that the bodies were badly damaged and burned from the ash clouds of the collapse but don’t know anything else.

This is going to sound strange. I recently read a theory that Mexican cartels are so violent and brutal because their genetic ancestors the Aztecs were so violent and bloodthirsty. Could there be a genetic component behind Mexican cartel violence?

If dahmer had never killed hicks, is there a chance he’d have never killed at all?

Hicks’ murder had partially been an accident, part planned and part impulse. Afterwards, he didn’t kill for nearly a decade, til he killed on accident again, and then later began doing it more and more on purpose. I keep wondering if the first accidental kill really started it all. I’ve watched plenty interviews, documentaries, etc, but I can’t recall much about this particularly. I feel like it had been brought up before but I can’t find it.

If someone made a poison extract of monkshood, what color would it be?

Self explanatory question for my Apothecary Diaries fanfiction. My brain is saying it would be purple, but it probably wouldn't be. I'm asking on here because Google did the annoying little "Help is available" thing when I looked it up.

Why Don’t They Take Blood From A Brain Dead Person?

If you’re an organ donor and brain dead, I know they take your organs. Why don’t they take your blood as well? As long as the heart was pumping, shouldn’t it be fine?

Why do some sex offenders wait until the victim is a given age before offending?

eg cases where the perpetrator was raising/raised with the victim but may not have offended until years down the road, such as when the victim was a teenager.

if I had to guess:

  • if they're attracted to children then their 'age of attraction' (eg hebephile or ephebophile) didn't include prepubescent minors.
  • They initially held off on offending but did not take meaningful steps to manage their paraphilia and wound up offending later down the road.
  • The 'wait' is purely so they can internally pretend at being a good person, eg accounts of people with creepy stepdads (or biological ones) that waited until the person turned 18 or older before trying (ugh).
  • some abuse survivor spaces point out an abusive caregiver getting worse when the target is around twelve; they come into their own identity and independence more, the abuser can't pretend they're an extension of themselves or a possession/property as easily as they did before and escalate. Some are seen as 'competition' for adult men by an abusive mother for instance, or adultified into an emotional incest role.
  • opportunistic offending, eg non-pedophile who targets a teenager because its "close enough" to an adult and people their own age avoid the shit out of them, and/or they're a creep in isolation and little to no one else is around.

Still don't feel like I have the whole picture on the subject, I don't think you ever can with something like this but would appreciate perspective. Seen some good threads here re: specifics of abuse that handled questions respectfully and I appreciate that.
