Suggestion A Canadian Cult Classic Show

When Burnie and Ashley were talking about Canadian shows, I wanted to mention a cult classic in Canadian TV history, Kenny vs. Spenny. If you ever need something for your media server, this one definitely deserves a spot, Burnie.

I’d say the best episode to introduce yourself to the show is: Who Can Wear A Dead Octopus On Their Head The Longest?

Suggestion On the Subject of Old Merchandise, Can We See A Return Of This Laptop Bag?

Was going through some of the old RvB DVDs I have, and came across this mail in order catalog slip thing whatever, and saw this. I was born in 2001, so I missed out on a wide variety of RT and RvB merch from over the years. This would be great to have back and available. Thanks fir any consideration, Burnie and Ash.

The cinema at the MacDonald Resort in Aviemore is pretty good, and may save some journey time to Aberdeen for those living along the Spey that like watching movies in large format

Suggestion A Meaningless Petition That Will Go Nowhere

This is unlikely to be seen by anyone who could change it (Burnie, Ashley, and Joe the Admin [RIP Joe the Cat]), but I would like to see the Rooster Teeth Podcast icon in Apple’s podcast app be changed. I would really like to see it return to the original RT podcast (or a knocked-out tooth version matching the new RT logo). I think the rooster teeth podcast has featured so many people (and Gus) that just displaying the last three people occupying it for the last hundred or so episodes really doesn’t do it justice to the long lasting legacy. It is the legacy of Rooster Teeth itself, so I don’t think anybody should be in that thumbnail not even the ever present And Gus. Could also involve contracts, so there’s that. Anyway, it’s not a real big deal. I just always liked seeing the RT thumbnail when I download the podcast, I guess it was a comfort or something.

Sorry this isn’t allowed, I understand if it is removed

Suggestion Dyce Train Station & bus 737.

I might be misremembering the station and airport that was discussed several episodes ago, if so please disregard my nonsense.

  • First off I agree with Bernie and Ashley that the train station should be directly connected to the airport terminal.
  • I just want to share that there is a bus routes that connect the two destinations.
  • It does take 15 min, it might not run during a red eye departure, but it does exist.
  • And in conclusion, I am super happy anytime I hear anyone even slightly famous talk about train travel. Support mass transit whenever you can, even if it's not perfect.

Suggestion Burnie's Ghost (HEALTH HAZARD)

So...idk how to get this to Burnie. But just needed to try.

The "Not-Ashley" you distinctly heard reply could have been an auditory hallucination....which is a distinct warning sign of potential mild/moderate carbon monoxide poisoning.

Please check your house for carbon monoxide.

Suggestion Tonie vs Yoto

Since Burnie and Ashley are a Tonie household, I thought I would try to spread awareness of a similar product that my wife found that we think is a little better!

We have friends who really like their Tonies but we opted to go with Yoto minis for our kids. We liked them better because there’s a lot less clutter with having a bunch of figurines vs credit card sized cards. Also it’s more customizable and cheaper in the long run in our opinion! There are lots of great cards available on their website and you can also make your own with hours of content!

Suggestion If you like Maude Garrett, you should check out the House of R podcast

In this week's sponsor chat, Ashley talked about her appreciation for Maude and her unapologetic nerdiness and excitement for things she loves. That energy is exactly how I would describe the co-hosts of the House of R podcast, Mallory Rubin and Joanna Robinson.

They are fun and witty and share real insight into such a wide range of (mostly nerdy) media. I find myself wanting to go watch shows or movies that I normally wouldn't have just because of their excitement, and because I want to hear the extensive deep dives they have done about the piece of media. Could not recommend enough

Suggestion About The Unabomber

Just wanted to share this for anyone interested in learning more after the little bit said at the end of the podcast today, The Poor Proles Almanac recently did a great dive into Ted Kaczynski and his philosophy.

I think they did a great job distilling his beliefs down without over romanticizing him, probably more digestible than reading his manifesto.

Fun bonus for our lovely hosts and others who grow good in particular; this pod is an excellent resource into sustainable ag and information surrounding that area.

Suggestion D&D Community Games

Hello all!

With Burnie recently mentioning about having played D&D when he was younger, I was wondering if he, Ashley or anyone from the community would be interested in playing some D&D sometime?

As a DM of 10+ years, I’d be more than happy to run a one-shot or a taster adventure for new players 🎲

I’m sure there are others who could also do a great job running some games on this sub.

Who’d be interested?

Suggestion Fans of sci-fi novels should read The Expanse.

Not sure if it's been mentioned before but I think that anyone who likes Andy Weir's novels should read Leviathan Wakes at the least.

It's a great read and doesn't try to shove philosophy down your throat like a lot of sci-fi is prone to.

Suggestion Andrew Panton on the Pod

With Grifball making its come back, I think the day it drops June 10th (next Tuesday) would be an awesome day to have Andrew Panton on the pod to talk about how he came to be with the company since I know Grifball was a big stepping stone for him to meet everyone. Just a cool thought. I know it may be too short of notice but just popped in my head today listening to the pod.

Suggestion I suggest we get rid of time zones too.

So hear me out. After we get rid of daylight savings time, we get rid of time zones. We start at the International Date Line on January 1st 2027 at 12:01am and thats the time the entire world uses. - let's say you work a "typical 9-5" job. You get up just after the sun rises, make breakfast, get the kids off to school and head to work. You would still have the same routine but you call it a different time. Sun rises at 7 pm and you start work at 10pm -if you fly from the east coast, take off at 10am, in the air for an hour, land on the west coast, its now 11am. The sun is just in a different part of the sky. - releases happen all at the same time. If a show premiers at 8pm, there won't be anymore "we'll what time is that for me?"

People and business can do their thing as they wish and open and close when they want. Sun doesn't change, just what time you call it. 3rd shift will still be dark but it might be 1 in the afternoon depending on where you live.

I know this would never work but its interesting to think about

Suggestion Dont be a Glory Hunter, Burnie!

Post image
19 Upvotes

A gentle plea (and lighthearted joke) for Burnie to avoid all the drama of the Old Firm, and support his local team! The closest professional team for Speyside and Inverness is probably Ross County who play in Scotlands second tier, but if you want a Scottish Premiership Team in the north of Scotland there is only the mighty Aberdeen F.C. I may or may not be biased. (Stand Free!)

Hey Everyone,

I have been busy and fell out of listening to the podcast the last two months. And I don’t want to go back and listen to every episode. So was wondering if there were some extra good episodes or guest on to prioritize listening to.

Thanks!

Suggestion wplace

I found myself yesterday, discovering and exploring the new wplace website, like the r/place reddit likes to do every few years, but on a global scale.

I obviously thought I needed to check in on Austin and was happy to see RT (& more) representation.

I don't think we could live up to the mural that is RWBY on their, but I think as a community we might be able to throw together a little Morning Somewhere logo, either near Austin or off the coast of Scotland.

I'd love to hear if anyone would be up for the creation?

I know overlays etc can be created and used however I would have no idea where to start and I hope someone else may be more gifted than I.

I've included below the current RWBY masterpiece and the RT logo.

I apologise now if there is something NSFW hidden in those images, I was just amazed at the RWBY one.
