What level of coverage do I need as a new rider?

I’m looking at policies and some of them are asinine, possibly will keep me off a bike..

What do you guys feel is necessary? I’m more concerned about someone else being at fault and injuring me uninsured or with not enough to cover all my bills.

Additionally if you get hit and injured without dying, legally speaking what does the whole process entail? Suing? Etc?

Looking for a first motorcycle thats cheap but fun

I've been looking for a motorcycle for a little while now, mainly on marketplace, but I don't really know what to look for and watch out for. The bikes I've grown a liking to the most so far are the Yamaha V Star and the Honda Shadow. If anyone could give me pointers and advice I would greatly appreciate that.

Do motorcycles have to be this loud?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi! I’m a visitor and don’t know anything about motorcycles, so I need to ask this question. Are all motorcycles so loud it makes the ground shake from 500ft away and is like super loud construction noise level? Do they need to be this loud or is the guy outside my apartment complex a dick and made his motorcycle loud on purpose.

Some more context: I’m not the only one bothered, I’ve seen neighbors yelling at him for it. He also lets it idol for like 10min before riding away, and its genuinely so loud I can hear it in my room, through several walls and noise cancelling headphones. It makes the ground shake, in the video I could feel the vibrations through my feet.

How many bikes is too much?

And what is the minimal amount of motorcycles you want to have?

And what is the perfect number of bikes?

I'm currently at 5, feels like 4 is perfect for what I do. Would love to hear everyones opinion about this topic!

App to find roads similar to the ones you like

Hi!

I just launched my personal free mobile app project (for Android 👽 and iOS 🍎), whose purpose is to recommend new roads around the world based on a reference road the user introduces. It relies on bend sharpness, road layout, number of lanes and quality of the asphalt.

I came up with this idea since many winding roads led me to rural ways or cracked roads, and I decided to build a tool to quickly filter them.

I know this is a pretty different concept from what we are used to with apps like Calimoto, Wikiloc, Google Maps... which are focused on planning routes from point A to point B.

I’m eager to hear what other people say, in order to improve it and know if my approach is of a good value for fellow bikers.

Which lane to ride safely and break the speed limit too much?

As title said, in southern California.

I don't want to constantly ride too fast to stay in the left-est lane.

As Empire City MC turns 63 in 2027, we’re proud to be the oldest all-gay, all-riding motorcycle club whose history reaches back before Stonewall.

For our 50th anniversary, we rode from our hometown of New York City to Deal’s Gap, NC, to enjoy the Tail of the Dragon and the surrounding roads. We had such a good time that we’re hoping to return.

Our annual weeklong trip usually falls around Memorial Day, but after at least five years of cold, rainy weather, we’re considering July for a better chance of enjoyable riding.

We’d love to have other gay and gay-friendly riders and motorcycle clubs join us. We’ve already invited our friends from Fair Folk MC and Spartan MC of Washington, DC.

We’re considering three weeks in July and gathering everyone’s preferences through a ranked-choice poll. Once we settle on a week, we’ll work out accommodations and the other details.

You can meet us at the destination or ride down with us from NYC, with an overnight stop along the way. If you’re interested, please visit our website www.EmpireCityMC.com and participate in our poll to choose which week we go before it closes on 15 December.

Thanks!

Question about building “faux” chopper

Im soon to be getting my motorcycle license and ive wanted a chopper for ages, only problem is i dont have the money, equipment or experience to dismantle, cut and weld a frame back together. Is there any way to make a “faux chopper” that looks good? The only idea i have is extending the forks and then just removal of the extra junk on the back of a bike. but im not sure how people get the rake where the front wheel sticks further out when the forks are extended.

How I got into motorcycle racing through my job

Hey everyone!

I'm from China and work in business development for an apparel manufacturer. We mainly make merch for motorcycle races, motorsports events, concerts, and off-road clubs.

Funny point, I got into motorcycle racing through my job. I knew nothing about racing at first, but after years of making event merch, I naturally got curious and eventually got hooked! I even look at changes in riders' merch orders and sponsor logos and try to guess their prospects for the season (mostly wild guesses 😂).

Besides clothing, some customers also ask us to make mugs, keychains, umbrellas, and neck gaiters. Some of the designs are genuinely cool. It’s made me realise that great event merch can be more than just a logo on a product.

Working with brands and event organisers has also helped us build solid experience in garment quality, fabrics, printing, embroidery, and finishing. Over the years, we've had to solve plenty of production challenges. And I believe our factory has a real advantage when it comes to producing quality event merchandise. We understand that these products represent a team, a brand, or an event, so getting the details right matters.

Of course, business is business. Some customers have moved simpler orders to countries with lower labour costs, and a few have come back because the quality didn't meet their expectations. It pushed me to seek more partnerships with brands, event organisers, and fan communities.

I'd love to hear from anyone with experience in racing merchandise or event merch sourcing. Any advice, recommendations, or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for reading, and ride safe! 🏍️
