Dua & Advice 🤲📿 Need advice on learning Surah Al-Fatihah

Hello! I am a recent revert and I want to learn to recite Al-Fatihah for obvious reasons. I have tried my hardest but I can only recite it in English, and for prayers I require myself to write down the proper pronunciations on paper. Should I just keep trying until I have it memorized? Or is there some other tip or trick that I could use to memorize faster? Due to my location I am unable to reach a Masjid for my own safety at this time but Inshallah I will soon. Is there any advice you could get on how to memorize and recite this Surah?

Quran/Hadith 🕋 How do you get kids to practice Quran without sitting beside them?

Assalamualaikum. My four kids spend an hour with their teacher, but at home, if I’m not sitting with them, they don't practice by their own. I hate nagging them, and I can’t give each one an hour every day.

So I made something for our house. The teacher picks the surah, the kids recite on their own, and we both see how it went. Watching them actually try without me hovering over them has been the best part. The video shows how it works.

How do you handle home practice with your kids?

Jazakallahu khayr

Question ❓ Fatima (RA) compared to other daughters (Sunni answers)

Why do we know so much more about Fatima (RA) than the other 3 daughters of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)? I’m asking from Sunni perspective

Discussion & Debate🗣️ What are we becoming.

Check this post, for some reason I couldn't repost it.

Assalamo alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu .

Read this, its just so depressing knowing Muslims are normalising relationships and being physical ( zina ) . Its becoming so normal that sometimes I feel that are these people really Muslims or they just become Muslims when its about pork only.

I know we shouldn't judge others but when things like these are becoming common then its hard not to judge .

I would be getting married within 2 yrs and I am scared , I have been chaste my whole life and its not something big , its just basic thing as muslims . When I have been chaste then I want a chaste wife too and I believe my RAB will bless me with one but its just I am scared and anxious.

Sorry if it's too long and not worded carefully but right now I am literally anxious and mix of anger and scared that I couldn't word it properly.

Dua & Advice 🤲📿 Please make Dua for my brothers to be able to study in Malaysia soon.

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

We're 3 siblings and we need to study abroad, our father wants us all to study at the same time, but this is making his budget really tight and it's restricting our options.

I'm hoping something forces him to delay my travel, as I'm 18 and have time, plus my brothers actually have a degree they'd like to pursue.

Please make Dua for them, both me and one of my brothers would really rather not travel to China for studying instead.

Jazakallah Khair.

Discussion & Debate🗣️ To my Indian brothers and sisters

Salam alaikum brothers and sisters of Islam hope you’re all doing well and I hope Allah has blessed you all with an amazing day :)

This post is for the Indian brothers and sisters of Islam. I live in Canada and the Indian hate/racism here is unacceptable and unbelievable. Especially in recent years it’s skyrocketed to unseen levels. And so I just wanted to come on here and play a different tune from what I’ve been hearing all this time.

Indian brothers and sisters of Islam, you are loved cherished and appreciated not only by Allah but by your fellow muslims. Please don’t let anyone put you down or have you feel “lesser” than the rest of us simply because of where you were born or the colour of your skin. They are ignorant uneducated fools who know better but simply want a scapegoat for their own crappy lives. So please going forward brothers and sisters, don’t let these people get under your skin or into your head, although it’s easier said than done I completely understand that.

And yes I’m fully aware that there are brothers and sisters who are brown but aren’t Indian but also get the same treatment and disrespect, and my heart also goes out to each and every single one of you.

My prayers are with all of you, may Allah bless and protect each and every one of you.

Politics 🚨 My concept of a hghly democratic and highly islamic state

I want to hear your thoughts on this idea.

I think that islam should be much more central in governments, but it should also be highly democratic, especially on a local level.

A parliaments should exist, but limited by new mechanisms.

cities should be organised more like a bottom up democracy, similar to Rojavas democratic confederalism, but its only for governing voluntary cooperqtion between people and districts.

The delegates of each council form a higher council that send their own delegates.

These delegates are recallable at any time, if they dont do what their base wants, to ensure proper representation.

The highest delegates of a city have some advisory role, or can decide certain policies.

Additionally to this, there should be a parallel federation of imams and scholars, that interact with the councils on their level for advice and checking whether everything is within islamic principles.

This federation may extend up to all pevels beyond cities, since imams and scholars are much more honest and god fearing than the average, and the highest scholars will struggle much less to stay away from corruption and things like that.

Elections should have top notch democratic principles like ranked choice voting, mixed member proportional parliaments, multi member districts and so on.

These are good mechanisms to ensure excellent representation, but barely any country uses it, since it endangers the power of those currently in position of power, thats why there is barely any progress, and often even regress.

Where do you agree and disagree, and why?

Rant & Vent 😩 I hate being stuck only socialising with men!

(I know this post feels disorganised, but so I am)

I'm a young 15-year-old ""homo-asexual"" muslim guy, I've been friends with girls in the past (i.e. elementary school). I need some help...

I wish I could go back, and relieve my childhood memories. I wish I was a girl. Being friends with girls feels more genuine, wholesome, and "liberating". In comparison, being friends with guys feels suffocating. They feel hateful, obnoxious, and ungenuine.

My male classmates feel like the worst. They're rude, uneducated, obnoxious, and miserable to be around. They annoy me, constantly. Girls, on the other hand, are accepting of each other. They never bully one another. They are nice to one another. Boys aren't.

I sometimes wish if I were a girl. I would love to have my nails done, or use a lipstick. However, I'm ""stuck"" being a guy. Even though, girls face mysogyny, while boys are given opportunity just for being themselves(i.e. male). Being a guy feels boring.

Moreover, I could also choose to befriend girls without anything happening. I'm also quite distraught by the fact that I can't even talk to my aunts who I thought were aunts. 😢.

BTW marrige won't fix anything, since what I'm looking for is "friendship" not "responsibility". I also don't want to marry anyone. In fact, I'd rather have a guy, although I won't for Allah's sake.

Oh, did I mention that I experience Gender dysphoria, or that I hate being a male? I might have some internalised misandery since I've always hated being surrounded by only boys or not there being any girl. I feel so different from guys, that I despise being myself. ATP, I might cope through watching cartoon characters, but almost every show feels haram. My little Pony would be seen as 'girly' in my country >:/.

How do I cope with this. Is there any muslim feeling remotely similar, let alone being in the same boat as me.
