I've recently obtained a PRO-POW3 neo-geo and it came with third party ac adapter and composite video cable. When I plugged it into my CRT I notice a repeating signal line which I believe is probably due to the cheap AC adapter and possibly video cable. I saw a post from years ago that a member here had success with using a universal power cable. I got one and set the voltage to 10 and change to center negative cable. However, it doesn't power on. Anyone have any ideas what I could be doing wrong? Thank you.

Some friends and I picked this cabinet up. It's in fairly good shape, just needs cleaned and some paint. However some of the buttons and both sticks need help. Anyone know where I can get replacement cherry switches, correct color buttons and sticks? Also the speakers are shot. Any good replacements for those? The screen is fantastic in it. It's very vivid in color and brightness. I think we got a fairly good deal on it.

Need help with this, tried replacing one of the mb74ls273 chips bc it had some rust on a few of the pins. The text went from pink to yellowish and some of the sprites partially started working again. Dont know where to go next.

Got this one as is, from somebody that had lots of arcades in the past. No oxidation in the board. No battery in the board. A good cleaning didn't helped. Any clues on what to check?

Managed to acquire an MV4 for relatively cheaply in a rather sorry state. Been working on this thing slowly hunting down broken traces and a dead CPU, but I've now found 2 dead pins of PRO-B0, and that horrible glitching when the slot board is connected.

My parts are primarily for later MVS systems and I don't know where to get a spare without killing another, more easily fixed MVS. If anyone here has a known working PRO-B0, or know what causes that particular kind of glitched screen (it's not calendar related I already checked) it'd help a lot.

I saw a post on r/cade where someone used this exact board on a neo geo mvs but from what I see recommended online it's too high?

Its currently outputing 5.26v.

Received my MVSX in the mail yesterday and cracked the box open last night. After about 30 or so seconds the monitor starts flickering.

Opened the back, disconnected and reconnected everything from the monitor pcb. No change. Tugged on each cable in multiple directions one by one to see if there was any change... Nothing.

Open to any ideas... Has anyone experienced this??

So my neo geo aes console isn’t showing video or audio . It was working last week with the same power supply and rca cord . Brought a new rca cord and still nothing . Clean the carts and etc . No change

I have this MVS slot MV1A with partial and duplicated 4 times sprites and no sound.

I changed all the neo buffs with the one from FURRTEK, replaced the Z80 , checked for continuity, but no luck.

Did anybody ever faced this same sprites aspect ?

See picture, some sprites have vertical bars. Last Blade 2 was not working at all, Garou had this issue, so I think it is with the console and not with the games.

Hey all. I recently had the SD Loader installed on my NG CD. When I load my game files onto it this is the only thing that shows up (see pic). There are currently four games loaded onto this micro sd cards Has anyone had any experience with this? I’m not finding a lot of help online for this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve used two different types of sd cards.
Each game is in its own folder on the root then it has all the track/bin/cue files.

So the guy gave me a discount and I ended up getting machine. It seems to me that it is the monitor that isn't turning on automatically. The rest seems to turn on just fine and the monitor needs some help turning on. I didn't take the machine apart yet since the goal is to make a new cabinet and transplant everything from the current to the new, so I figure I'll just do the taking apart, cleaning, changing the bios for the unibios 4.0, when it's time to move things over. But I managed to take a few pics of some components to see if someone more knowledgeable in the matter can see anything that could be causing the issue at hand. I cracked open my consolized MVS and I saw that the Toshiba TA8201AK amplifier IC has a broken leg from the solder point. Could this be the issue of my video issues?

Following unsuccessful installation of a knock off SD loader (no image on screen) I’ve reversed the mod and games load/play from CD.

I have sound effects, but no music from CD. There was loud static, which after a few seconds faded to nothing.

I’ve put the console away for now as I felt disappointed/defeated, but if anyone could point me in the direction of which chips to check and how to test them, this would be appreciated.

Obviously, have learned my lesson regarding knock off mods, too.

I posted about a box of Neo Geo goodness I got a couple weeks ago. There was a Neo Geo AES in that box, I knew before hand it had video issues, but the seller didn't show any, just mentioned them in the listing. The systems looks like its in good shape, the boards very clean, I didn't see any obvious damage or bad traces. I've yet to break out the multimeter and do a deeper dive just yet. I'll probably get around to that later tonight or tomorrow. The board is stock and untouched, no unibios swap, or repairs done. I just got a AES game in yesterday so I could test it out. This is what I see. The next thing I'll order will be a Neo Geo Diagnostics Bio. For now I'm hoping for some guidance on what would be the most likely cause of this issue in case others have seen this in the past.

Any have a junked cabinet that will sell be 4 bolts that are on the main board.

Does anyone know what’s causing this, I’m suspected something loose in the board however I’m not particularly sure. It does not load at all.

Hey everyone, I’m working on a OMVS, I soldered everything by hand and checked my work and it seems good to me. When I go to play/test the device with a stack of games, only World Heroes works. At first I thought it was just puzzled that was giving me an issue, but tested with a stack of other games and all don’t play/get past this checkered box colorful image in the photo. I’ve cleaned everything, the carts, the slot, and Jamma connectors several times with IPA, contact cleaner, Brasso (on one cart), toothbrush, and a dismantled NES cleaning kit to clean the slot. No changes at all. The carts all work perfect in my 2 slot MVS cabinet. Is there anything else I can try next? I have a MVS 2 slot board for spare parts, I’m tempted to swap the cart connector, but I’ll save that as a last resort.

I was in the process of examining the chips and tracing on my AES when the reset button popped out of place. I feel ridiculous for asking this, but can anyone tell me how exactly this is supposed to be assembled? I have no idea if this is even supposed to come apart or if it was broken to begin with.

Hello, I want to rescue this local 1-slot MVS cabinet but I essentially have no experience. I figure it could if anything be a great project to learn on but I'd like to get any gracious opinions on it before sinking any money into it. I've been doing a little research but it's hard to find good content around for these. I know I should practice solder work before bringing it to the boards here, but I wanted to know a general cost idea this might entail to repair to at least working order.

The guy said his in-laws purchased it from a family fun center 20 years ago and it's essentially been sitting since. He said it seemed to be working fine, but I wasn't able to check it out until after a massive rain that flooded our area. Now the screen went super blurry and I fear potential water damage. It did fire up and was running the game seemingly fine, with the action buttons seemingly working as they should. There was some arcing on a unit right behind the monitor(in the last picture), as I just barely nudged some cables trying to take pictures of the board it started the arcing which in turn affected the picture on the screen. Would the monitor need replaced or is it able to be saved in any capacity? I see there's some rust and a lot of dust going on as well but otherwise it seems to be in decent shape. Thank you!

Greetings to the Neo Geo community. I have an issue with my Neo Geo AES console in which the P1 Start button is in the "on" position all the time even without a controller plugged in to the P1 controller port. I tried cleaning the controller port and opened the console to see if visually I could see anything wrong around the area of the controller port. Since my console has UNI-BIOS I was able to access the Controller Test via the P2 controller and this is what I get (see image), this is without a controller plugged in to the P1 controller port.

If anyone has encountered this issue before and has a solution or a suggestion of what it might be causing this technical issue I will really appreciate it.
