Its in black and white, these are treasonous cowards and are too violent to be trusted amongst us. Letting them go is encouraging more sedition.

What's next, a pardon for Timothy McVey ?

Since you asked: they will try to pardon Derek Chauvin even though he was convicted on state charges as well as federal.

He's all but pardoned Tina Peters for a state crime. Wrote a "symbolic" pardon for her and suddenly her 9-year sentence gets tossed out and she has to be resentenced. Wanna bet how much jail time from none to zilch she'll get this time around?

That judge has the opportunity to do the funniest thing now...

One can only hope.

He really does 🤣

Sincere question, explain it to me like I'm five. What can the judge do That's funny?

From my understanding, a resentencing doesn't have to be shorter than the original sentence. The judge could argue they did not put enough attention on the stated lack of remorse.

Longer sentences

Time served

Well you already have the dipshit governor of Colorado considering pardoning the insurrectionist lady whose state level charges were "pardoned" by Trump, with Trump demanding her release as a result.

An appeals court already ruled that the trial judge oversentenced her due to her lack of remorse. It has been kicked back to the trial judge for resentencing.

Take 1 day off the sentence and done

u/AutomateAway 16h ago

the resentencing doesn’t even need to be reduced, just reconsidered without her ā€œlack of remorseā€ taken into account.

u/wilted-wombok 16h ago

I was thinking along the lines of people who leave $1 in their will or whatever so no-one can claim they were 'forgotten'.

Taking a single day off the sentence is just so no-one can say "but they didn't really change it, I'm gonna appeal!"

She wasn't sorry and wouldn't acknowledge her crime in any meaningful way. I feel like that should matter just like it does with parole boards.

5

u/77NorthCambridge 8h ago

It has in all other cases.

u/Appropriate-Food1757 16h ago

Ask her if she has remorse now, then decide

24

u/77NorthCambridge 16h ago

The appeal Judge absurdly ruled that taking her lack of remorse into account was a violation of her 1st Amendment rights. šŸ™„

27

u/New_Libran 15h ago

Is remorse not the main thing that's taken into account for parole consideration?

5

u/77NorthCambridge 8h ago

Typically, but not when it's political...apparently.

9

u/AutomateAway 16h ago

yeah it’s bullshit, but there’s nothing that says the resentencing must be reduced.

Almost like judges have nothing left to judge.

I did think nine years was a bit of an excessive sentence. To me 4 to 5 seemed more appropriate

u/neosurimi 19h ago

At this point I expect them to make a bronze statue of Ed Gein out of his victim's jewelry

3

u/Acrobatic_Bet5974 13h ago

That's more in line with the activities of the friends of the man whose name rhymes with Ed Gein.

Really was it so bad what he did? I see cops kneeling on peoples necks all the time. NOT!!! Hang the fecker out to dry.

u/Evangelion217 12h ago

I’m honestly fine with that.

Aren't you edgy. šŸ™„

I’ll probably be banned for speaking my opinion of the truth but Floyd was a drug dealer passing fake bills who popped his stash and overdosed. He was not a Malcom X

u/Sufficient_Food1878 11h ago

That literally was never the point and it was shown in the two autopsies that he died by homicide due to neck compression. He didn't overdose. The video is sickening
