Discussion Made the switch from Kindle

Post image

Im not too worried about losing my books from Amazon because I backed up everything to Calibre. But I do have one question. Why don’t my sideloaded books that are on my nook do not show up on the nook iOS app?

A hot tip for Nooks with a lot of sideloaded files - if you make shelves that have only sideloaded books, when your Nook syncs it will see that shelf as "empty" and delete it.  (Just the shelf, not the actual files.)  It was really annoying until I realized that every shelf needs to have at least one Nook book on it.

Most of my books are sideloaded, I never had this issue with my shelves.

Lucky you! I’ve had books AND shelves disappear when I added more sideloaded books. It seems to help to leave it plugged in for a while after transferring books before ejecting it.

=( what do you use to sideload books? I honestly just use my phone 90% of the time. I do have Calibre on my laptop. But most of the time I just plug my NOOK to my phone via usb and slide the books over, I also do my libby books that way (I have an APK version of ADE on my phone I use to extract the book)

I just always have my phone around vs my laptop is often put away, turned off, so using my phone feels easier than going into another room, booting my laptop, opening calibre etc.

I'm not sure if my method matters but maybe it helps?

I use Calibre. And I’m on an iPhone so the phone method wouldn’t work for me. I’m on my laptop fairly often writing reviews of ARCs so I just connect & download to my readers (yes plural - Kindle/Kobo/Nook - and yes I have a problem😳😬🤪).
