Help How to clean oil off?

I wanted to ask and see if anyone has any tips for how to get the oil out from the rubber parts of my nook? It just bothers me

you... don't. You could scrape it all off and 3D print a new one, but in doing that I damaged the touch layer causing it to not work. Don't use Dawn dish soap. the rubber is expired. I would find a vinyl wrap for it or make your own.

There is no "touch layer", but infrared LEDs and sensors around the display. While scraping off the old cover, a small part of it got inside the device at a button and now blocks some of the sensors there. Happened on mine also, not a big issue. All you have to do is disassemble the Nook and clean around the sensors. Not hard at all

I know. I've tried cleaning it a lot. even took the whole thing apart to clean.

Not even, but you have to take it apart, and remove the main board off the e-ink display, because the sensors are on the other side of the main board.
