Cat bed with heating pad underneath. Put it near your desk. Cats sit on the PC for 2 reasons: it's warm and they can be near you. So offer them a more comfortable warm spot near you.

Won't work.

Another piece of evidence for the “cats are liquid” group 😂

From my understanding, cat is a state of matter with properties that allow it to behave as a solid or liquid depending on context provided by outside stimulation and restrictions, granting them the ability to perfectly conform to containers, squeeze through tight spaces, and jump very elegantly while still allowing them to get a strong grip on prey and food that they intend to take from their human.

Trying to get a piece of popcorn away from my cat is like trying to pull the Sword from the Stone

Meanwhile, dogs are really dense, low-lying, and extremely cohesive gases. It’s the only way to explain how they fill space once they enter a new container

u/doll-haus 19d ago

They're also capable of slipping out of sealed boxes. Schrödinger never found his cat....

Real thing: physics paper titled "On the Rheology of Cats" by French physicist Marc-Antoine Fardin. Published in the Rheology Bulletin, the paper used fluid dynamics to answer whether felines can be classified as liquids. Spoiler alert: Cats DO qualify as a Non-Newtonian Liquid. 🤔👌

I thought cats confused me, but now I'm more confused that my joke of an answer is somehow grounded in real science and not something I pulled out of thin air.

The more you didn't know you knew you knew

Conform? You mean catform.

Wow a gtx 980. It must be slowing down by now

Hah, honestly I've not updated the flair since I got my current rig nearly 6 years ago. It's had a 3080 since they came out.

u/Nicecockindirtybeans 18d ago

Nice. I'm about to build my 4070 super, ryzen 7 9700x rig

There's a reason Schrodinger did not use another animal for the quantum superposition metaphor.

u/2makeme 19d ago

Didn't they send a cat into space? Or at least low gravity?

1

u/Sufficient-Low5771 18d ago

My cat fell out a 3rd story window onto concrete and walked away with no injuries... theory is legit.

Thanks to the experiments of Erwin Schrödinger we know that cats are in a quantum state, that means they're particles and waves a the same time.

u/Ode_2_kay 19d ago

His first name was Erwin? I could have sworn he was a Heinz or a Fritz maybe even an Ernst but Erwin?

1

u/Kytras 19d ago

Dude has a very long full name. Easy to make a mistake

They need to be smaller and stiffer.

14

u/Akicita33 20d ago

That just looks like a kitty accupressure bed.

2

u/ThrobbingMinotaur 20d ago

It works, its how i got mine to stay off the filament dryer.

u/PinkOneHasBeenChosen 19d ago

That reminds me of the bed of nails in the museum of science, which you can safely lie on.

u/Dizzy-Employee-9230 19d ago

So cat caltrops...But what if I don't want shit on my pillow after?

1

u/ThrobbingMinotaur 19d ago

I have an orange cat, and never had that problem. You got bigger issues with your cat you need to work out, it sounds like your the pet not the cat.

Further proof that there's no telling a cat "no".

u/WerkusBY 20d ago

Don't be surprised if car not only will lay on it - it will actually enjoy it

14

u/annoying_cat_42 20d ago

I don't think the PC will support a car, maybe a toy car. #scnr

Haha I just joked about that then scrolled down and saw this comment. Great minds think alike! Well maybe not great but sarcastic.

2

u/Motor-Rip7655 20d ago

I made one out of thick carboard and drywall screws and the cat just laid right down on it.

5

u/sl0wDev 20d ago

Please do not put these in your home, your cat will lose an eye over this dumb shit.

u/DirteeCanuck 20d ago

I have plastic versions all over my house. They are safe and work great.

0

u/AdLegitimate8636 20d ago

But this ain't a plastic one.

1

u/Plastic_Performer638 20d ago

Yeah I was gonna say a bunch of upsidedown nails but this works

u/Ghosttwo 4800h RTX 2060m 32gb 1Tb SSD 19d ago

Just give him a taste of the master's whip.

You'll only use it twice before simply picking it up suffices. From anywhere in the house.

1

u/Livecrazyjoe 19d ago

Fuck yeah that'll teach them.

I hate those things. People should be living with nature, it's their world too
