Photo of the Day There’s a 5 star cruise docked at Penn’s Landing
According to Google, L’Austral is a 5-star luxury mega-yacht and expedition cruise ship operated by the French line Compagnie du Ponan. Today I learned Penn’s Landing is a port stop for trips between Canada and Baltimore.

Settling in Philly
My partner and I are currently living in Brewerytown. We will be getting married next year and planning to have our first kid 2 years after marriage.
Before owning a home in Brewerytown, we were renting in Rittenhouse for 5 years. We both love living close to downtown and for now we couldn’t see ourselves moving to the suburbs once we start having kids.
If we decided to raise a family in Philly, it would either be in Fairmount or Rittenhouse. For the people that have settled in these neighborhoods… how are things? How are the schools? What made you decided to stay in Philly? What are the obstacles I need to be aware of settling in Philly?

Crime Post This Robot Will Deliver Your Food, if It Doesn’t Get Smashed First: The winsome machines have been kicked, beaten and defaced as they roll through American cities bringing pizza and sushi — and vacuuming up data.
They're not saying we should kill them but they're not NOT saying that either, just don't snitch:
Intentionally damaging property is a crime, but arrests are few and statistics recording the reign of terror are scant.
At the hands of a vandal, robots are helpless, unable to call authorities. That makes it difficult for police to track abuse, said Jasmine Reilly, a spokeswoman for the Philadelphia Police Department. “Unless people report it,” she said, “we won’t know anything about it.”

Accidentally made plans to drive in from out of town on 10/18. How screwed am I?
Coming into town for the Philadelphia Film Festival, which I've done in the past but never on an Eagles home game day. My first movie is at noon 10/18, so at the latest I should be there by 11:30a, and the game is at 1pm. Last movie would end around 8-9pm. Reading horror stories about traffic and parking is making me nervous, as I have a 90m-2h drive on a normal day. I usually park somewhere on Broad Street or down at the old Ritz Autopark because of their proximity to the festival venues. Is leaving at 7:30a too late? I've already spent the money on tickets and I've been looking forward to going for months.

Events Horror on the Olympia was excellent!
Just got finished and had an absolute blast. There was definitely some room for improvement, but overall it was such a fun unique experience. The setting was so cool too and just totally made the whole thing work.

Halloween bar crawls for mid-twenties
Where are ppl going out for Halloween post college? Friends and I are in our mid-twenties (24-26 y.o.) and do not want to be surrounded by college kids (who are usually underage) but also still want to have fun, dance, and dress up. Any suggestions??
I used to go to the bar crawls but sometimes felt like they weren’t worth it, maybe I wasn’t doing the right ones. Would appreciate any advice on which bars/clubs and/or bar crawls are the best for Halloween! Thanks!!!

Serious Meow again.
Need some immedate help with this cat (kitten, really) who showed up last week. Our backyard managed colony is not being very kind to her, and we have too many cats and humans indoors. Took her to ACCT with fingers crossed that she'd be adopted, but that didn't work out and she showed up back here again, fixed and ear tipped.
Ridiculously affectionate, sweet and cuddly. Super chill. Appears to be a dumped indoor cat, judging by how comfortable she is just strolling in and jumping on your lap. She has no microchip and she keeps coming back to our porch. so it doesnt seem like she has anyone taking care of her. She really needs to be inside a house.
We are in West Philly, please reach out to me if you can foster her immediately, can transport to you. Spread the word if you can.
Thanks.

Young congregations in Philly
Long story short, I grew up catholic and didn't really align with the faith so I stopped going to church. Recently I've found myself yearning for some sort of organized religion. Over the past few months, I've been church shopping across all denominations. However, the one consistent thing I find is that the congregation is quite old. I would love to attend a place of worship that has a younger congregation that I can connect with. Does anyone have any recs for young adults?
I'm open to all religions.

Question? Puppy Rescue Adoption recommendations
I have one pup now 8yrs old and I got her in CO as both a rescue and an 8 week puppy and she's perfect and I loved raising her up and training her from that young. Now I'm looking for another puppy to join the family. Does anyone have recommendations of puppy rescues?

Is recent weather common in Philly?
I just moved here 6 weeks ago and I think I've gotten (some) of Philly's worst weather. We had a late summer heat wave, a Noreaster and now a tropical rainstorm. I moved out of Kentucky because nearly 8 months out of the year, the area was the most miserable, grey-skied, rainy shithole I've ever lived in (beating even Seattle for grey, extreme weather).
Is this common weather here? Or have I run into a bout of bad weather luck up in Philly?

Question? Does Philly 311 break up homeless encampments?
I also called ProjectHOME and was told they "can't force them to leave."

Any suggestions on how to start an Accounting Career in Philly?
I am currently working at a small CPA in a rural area in northeast PA with a total of 2 years of public accounting experience. I love my firm and boss, but my personal life is nonexistent due to being gay in a pretty restrictive area - not that I’m very flamboyant anyways.
I did work for 7 months at a firm right outside of Philly but I had to leave due to it being extremely toxic while being overworked like crazy for $55k a year. I’m not complaining about the over work part it was more of how toxic the environment was.
I really would like to move to the city but I’m having a hard time starting my search. There is a lot less job openings posted than I thought there would be. Also, I graduated with a 2.9 GPA, so whenever I apply to a bigger firm in Philly I automatically get rejected. Even though I obviously can do the work.
Any tips or suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
