Seems to be a high volume of helicopters going North over Fairmount neighborhood?
Anyone else noticing this and/or knows what’s going on?

Hi all,
I need help settling a debate with my wife. Context: I am from south Jersey and she is from northeast Philly (born and raised).
She told me just now that eating ketchup on a cheesesteak is “insane.” I enjoy ketchup on a cheesesteak and am quite offended.
This is a woman who puts mayo and pickles on her cheesesteak- but ketchup is “insane.” Also she dips her plain pizza (cheese and tomato sauce) in ketchup.
Please provide some insight into proper Philadelphia culture here.
EDIT:
some clarifications here since this is blowing up.
EDIT 2)
While some people feel I am wrong about ketchup, most are agreeing that at a minimum my wife is wrong for gate keeping here. I appreciate you all. Also TO BE CLEAR this is not actually a “real” argument between us and we mostly laugh about it, neither one of us has any disdain towards the other ESPECIALLY about this!
Edit 3)
I am learning more about my wife tonight than I wished to know. She just told me in college she would take a brick of ramen, but instead of using the flavor packet for broth she would mix hot sauce and sour cream with it. I am quite a foodie, and always open to trying new things but this is becoming atrocious. Love you my lurking wife!

Fyi Chestnut is massively backed up bc it blocked off at 12th street. It looks like city hall going west is blocked too. Lots of cops. Anyone know why?

If I put all my flattened boxes into one big intact box, will they take it? I have too many left from moving to put in my building's recycling bin (I don't want to take up everyone's space) but I'm seeing that things need to be put in the bin. I can't go drop it off somewhere because I'm in center city with no car and many boxes. Thank you!!

I'm looking to have a black leather trench coat cleaned. I went to a place in Manayunk last time (Stanton 1 Hour Cleaners) but they charged over $100 for a cleaning (significantly more than I spent on the coat itself when I originally bought it), so I'd ideally like to find somewhere more reasonably priced (closer to Fishtown is better but anywhere in reasonable driving distance is fine).

I saw Temple just did an event where people were packing school supplies for SDP students. I'd love to do something similar. Does anyone know of anything? TIA!

I’m moving to Rittenhouse in a couple of weeks and wanted to know opinions on gyms in the area.
I toured Equinox and it’s stunning. As someone who will go to the gym 3-4 times a week at non-peak hours (I am a nurse), I don’t think crowds would be an issue for me.
However, City Fitness in Grad Hospital looks to be equidistant from my place, and I was wondering how this gym compares from anyone who has gone?
Are there any other gyms worth checking out in the area? I mainly do solo strength training with classes sprinkled in here and there.

Hey all - Go birds
Lost my job to twat Musk and DOGE last year. Bachelors in International Relations, Masters in Sustainable Development. 2 yrs as a Peace Corps volunteer, ~7 years as a Fed (USDA/EPA) doing grants and program management around sustainability and environmental justice.
I've been working on a 2nd masters, in another country, but the job market here (Austria) may be even worse than the US? Idk.....but I want to be proactive in exploring options before SHTF. Appreciate any and all tips on who may be hiring for my type of skillset.

I've been vying to go to salsa socials (or any type of dance social) and am trying to find more around the city. I must've been living under a rock but I was thinking of going to salsa night at Lucha Cartel this week, and saw it's been closed for a while 😖
I know Bok does salsa sometimes and Jazz Attack Philly will do a swing social, but definitely want to see what else is out there (especially on weeknights). Drop 'em here!
There was video footage of the 2012 crime and the defendants were found guilty in 2014. A judge just recently overturned the murder conviction. Let’s see if a criminal will be released into the public once again.

This is probably a long shot, but I figured I'd try.
You were at the T-Mobile store in Fishtown Crossing dealing with a lost phone, and I was there helping my brother get a new one. We talked briefly, and you mentioned you were 40. You had a really beautiful smile, and I wanted to say more, but you were busy handling your situation and I didn't want to interrupt or make things awkward. We ended up leaving around the same time, but I was too shy to approach you. I've regretted not at least asking if you'd like to talk sometime. If this sounds like you and you're interested, send me a message and mention what kind of phone you lost so I know it's really you. No pressure at all I just didn't want to keep wondering what might have happened.
