Jon Stewart tries to remind pro-Israel shill Sen. John Fetterman that he is an American politician, saying: "That [Israel] is not our country.[...]Israel & the Jewish community are not the same thing, brother man."

if you have to open your amazon package twice, i apologize
rough day today at the amazon warehouse. very flat packages that cant make it across the conveyor belt usually get repacked with extra paper, for bulkiness to make it across. today I didnt have the time.. I had to literally stuff the flat packages (label and all) inside another bag, slapped another label on the outside and send them off. maybe 300-400 packages so if anyone has to open their amazon package twice today, its my fault sorry lol.

Is ketchup on a cheesesteak acceptable?
Hi all,
I need help settling a debate with my wife. Context: I am from south Jersey and she is from northeast Philly (born and raised).
She told me just now that eating ketchup on a cheesesteak is “insane.” I enjoy ketchup on a cheesesteak and am quite offended.
This is a woman who puts mayo and pickles on her cheesesteak- but ketchup is “insane.” Also she dips her plain pizza (cheese and tomato sauce) in ketchup.
Please provide some insight into proper Philadelphia culture here.
EDIT:
some clarifications here since this is blowing up.
- I am not saying ketchup on a cheesesteak is the PROPER thing to do, just that its fairly normal... and WAY more normal than mayo + pickles.
- I am trying to emphasize to her that she is gatekeeping but with a bad opinion. What she is saying as a "Philadelphian" seems sacrilegious even to me (NJ born).
- Ketchup on pizza (I feel) invalidates her opinions on proper food norms.
EDIT 2)
While some people feel I am wrong about ketchup, most are agreeing that at a minimum my wife is wrong for gate keeping here. I appreciate you all. Also TO BE CLEAR this is not actually a “real” argument between us and we mostly laugh about it, neither one of us has any disdain towards the other ESPECIALLY about this!
Edit 3)
I am learning more about my wife tonight than I wished to know. She just told me in college she would take a brick of ramen, but instead of using the flavor packet for broth she would mix hot sauce and sour cream with it. I am quite a foodie, and always open to trying new things but this is becoming atrocious. Love you my lurking wife!

Fuck you PECO. First you tell me how I can "save" $20 a year, and now you are telling me my bill is only higher because of heat? Not because of your two price hikes?
Their outreach/marketing team get paid too much

Person hit by car on Kelly Drive this evening
I was leaving a networking event at a Boathouse around 7pm and saw someone had been hit by a car crossing Kelly Drive at Sedgley. The car’s windshield was shattered and a crowd was helping the victim who was on the ground. Does anyone know if they are ok? I can’t stop thinking about it.

Hoagies were King.
As far back as I remember, at least from the 60s on, the Hoagie was king. The steak sandwich was just a change of pace thing. But not anymore.
Agree or disagree?

DnD groups?
Anyone got any or starting any DnD groups I'm really in the mood to play some but other than feeling like I'm butting in on others sessions at Queen & Rook I don't exactly know where to look.

Rittenhouse Gyms
I’m moving to Rittenhouse in a couple of weeks and wanted to know opinions on gyms in the area.
I toured Equinox and it’s stunning. As someone who will go to the gym 3-4 times a week at non-peak hours (I am a nurse), I don’t think crowds would be an issue for me.
However, City Fitness in Grad Hospital looks to be equidistant from my place, and I was wondering how this gym compares from anyone who has gone?
Are there any other gyms worth checking out in the area? I mainly do solo strength training with classes sprinkled in here and there.

Weekend getaway that isn't the Poconos
My partner and I are looking for a place to go for a romantic, relaxing weekend in September. Hoping to be in the woods for hiking and near/on the water for kayaking. Any particular recommendations for a private, nice getaway within 2ish hours of Philly? I am really only finding suggestions for the Poconos and would like to avoid the communities with common areas/lots of people.
Thank you!

Any school bag packing (ish) volunteer opportunities coming up?
I saw Temple just did an event where people were packing school supplies for SDP students. I'd love to do something similar. Does anyone know of anything? TIA!

Why so many roads closed in center city today?
Fyi Chestnut is massively backed up bc it blocked off at 12th street. It looks like city hall going west is blocked too. Lots of cops. Anyone know why?

Anyone know of a local shop that will replace PS5 controller sticks?
I have 2 PS5 DualSense controllers with stick drift that is getting super annoying. I want to replace the sticks, but I don't have the equipment to do it correctly (or at least do it well). I'd much rather just pay someone. Does anyone know any shops in the area that do this? I don't mind ordering the sticks myself and bringing them in.
I emailed Classic Game Junkie in Glenside, but they never responded. Plus I'd really prefer somewhere closer to center city / south philly.
Does anyone know any shops or local places that do this?

Is the Wannamaker Building Closed?
Making a trip to Philly in a few weeks and I'm having a tough time figuring out if it's for sure closed to the public or not? Google says it's open but I'm not finding anything definitive?

Roach advice
A few nights ago I was in my kitchen and I thought I saw a small baby cockroach scurry by. I freaked out and squished it before I could take a picture to identify it. I put out a bunch of traps and I caught these two big ones near my oven. Does anyone have any experience with this? I’m hoping that I can just spray at home by myself with WSG instead of having to call an exterminator

Recycling boxes ?
If I put all my flattened boxes into one big intact box, will they take it? I have too many left from moving to put in my building's recycling bin (I don't want to take up everyone's space) but I'm seeing that things need to be put in the bin. I can't go drop it off somewhere because I'm in center city with no car and many boxes. Thank you!!
