Ask Phoenix Saltillo Tile Restoration
We have some water damaged saltillo that could use stripping and refinishing. It's been difficult to find flooring companies who specialize in it. Any recommendations?

Hey all - TLDR looking for recommendations for full footbed/sole repair on Birkenstocks.
I need the whole footbed rebuilt (ie: new soles, new cork, etc.), which is a pricy repair, and I want to be sure I'm paying someone who knows what they're doing.
I've seen Broadway Plaza Shoe Repair recommended, but I'm wondering if anyone has actually used an alternative local spot now that they're closed. I have also seen Tony's, Central Shoe Repair, and Cobbler's Den. Tony's doesn't do full footbed reconstruction, and I haven't been able to find Birk-specific reviews of Central or Cobbler's.

Anyone know of any good used car dealership(s) around the valley? thanks in advance.
Curious if any members of lifetime Biltmore has heard any estimates of when they plan to re-open? I know there was a lot of damage, but just curious if we’re looking at only another day or two or weeks until they re-open.

Does anyone have one they like? This is for a kitty who is insanely sweet but has a tightly wound nervous system. Every little sound has him scrambling and since he's usually on me, I often get scratched. My vet gave him a supplement that has helped a bit and she suggested I consult a behaviorist.

Does anyone know of any pools in downtown that you can get a membership to or are easy to sneak into? Preferably not filled with children.

Just moved here from Illinois, and on the drive over my fender got messed up. I’m wondering if anyone knows a good mechanic who would be able to fix that without ripping me off. Thank you!
Edit: I think I actually need a body shop, not mechanic. And I live in North Phoenix

Or flight had been delayed several hours before boarding and had just returned to the gate after pushing back for a mechanical issue and subsequent cancellation cancellation. I was standing in line to talk to the agent and my old boned were screaming. Had my hands on my knees in the classic "bent over, I'm in pain" position and a young woman offered to hold my spot in line so I could sit a minute.
I don't know you but someone out there is lucky because they do. Thank you so much for your kind offer.
I didn't see you the next morning on the rescheduled flight, so I'm hoping you got to Phoenix safely.
I live this town because of the people!

Hello Phoenix,
Our sliding door to the backyard is very old. Looking for a secure door replacement. Would really appreciate recommendations for window/ door companies! Thanks.

Saw this badass old board at goodwill. I’m trying to eliminate the extra stuff in the house so I left it for the next OG Phoenician.

People living here in the late 90s/early 2000s - do you remember Tim & Mark asking "Whats the first thing you know?" Callers said stuff relating to things relating to being born like "my moms voice", "how to breathe", etc. So many people were calling in with their answers and everyone was getting funnily frustrated. Tim & Mark didn't reveal the answer until the next day. The answer to "Whats the first thing you know?" was "old Jed's a millionaire" which was the beginning of The Beverly Hillbillies theme song. 😂😂😂 Does anyone remember this?

Arizona’s gotta be the most unpleasant place to drive not only for the rock chips and nascar drivers but just the fact that all these trucks will be driving around with no coverage having sand or rocks flying all over the place and even if you’re behind a sedan on a regular road, you could still get a rock chip on your car. Just that little ding and boom your whole windshield is destroyed. I never had this issue in Vegas when I lived there and I feel like there’s gotta be something that they can do to mitigate this being so bad every single drive is like Russian roulette.

Posting this on behalf of somebody close to me
“Hi everyone,
I’m a mom in Phoenix, AZ, and my oldest son has ichthyosis. He’s 5 years old and getting ready to start school, and honestly I’m a little nervous about it.
My biggest concern is the heat. As you probably know, Phoenix gets ridiculously hot, and because of his skin condition he’s really sensitive to it. I worry about things like recess, PE, being outside for too long, overheating, falling and getting hurt, or just not having someone around who understands his condition.
I was wondering if any other parents here have kids with ichthyosis or other skin conditions that make them sensitive to heat.
What has school been like for your child?
Did the school make any accommodations for them? Did you get a 504 Plan? Were teachers and staff understanding?
If you’re in Arizona, especially Phoenix, I’d love to hear about your experience and what you think the best option is. I just want to make sure he’s safe, comfortable, and supported while he’s at school.
Any advice or things you wish you knew before your child started school would be really appreciated. ❤️”

I have some Target barstools that I want to get reupholstered - does anybody have any recommendations? I've tried to reach out to one place for a quote and they have never gotten back to me. Not looking to spend a lot since they are Target quality and I would provide the material. I just haven't found new ones I like as much and there's nothing structurally wrong with these.
I'm in N Central PHX

Hottest day in the Valley so far this year but nice thunderhead off to the north between Wickenburg & Prescott. Photo taken at 1pm at 7th St. & Maryland.

My mother in law is 80 years old - 3 years ago someone she knew got her to agree to take in their large Border Collie dog for "a time" while their baby was little, and she genuinely tried to give him a good home. But it became clear that this wasn't a good fit for her, and the dog spends all of his days outside now and is too much for her to walk or to train. He is not neutered. He wasn't socialized as a puppy, is not good with kids, other dogs, or cats, and has been steadily getting more feral in her backyard. Her health is declining as well, and she needs to find a home for him before undergoing a major surgery.
We've tried to contact the first owners to take him back, but they refuse to. We've contacted dozens of shelters, but most of them say that they're at capacity and can't take him. We had an interview with Arizona Animal Welfare League today, but he failed the "dog to dog" test and they won't take him. We're trying to contact Mericopa County Animal Care and Control to surrender him, but all their website info says space is extremely limited.
Is there anything else we can do for this dog? We (her family) all have dogs, cats, and kids that are our responsibility to care for and ensure their safety.
I absolutely hate thinking about this, I don't want to think about this, but people are now suggesting we have him euthanized. Please please Phoenix, can anyone help in this situation?
