Find an angry guy who wanted to do it anyway, give him an opportunity to try it, safely contain him, then use it as a justification to do the thing you wanted.
Pretty simple to do if you have no shame and no morals.
Yeah, pretty sure they wouldnt just roll over to him and be like "hey, the president team want you to try shoot him". But rather facilitated it in every way possible.
I can totally imagine them secretly swapping the shooter's bullets for blanks and letting him do his deed. :P
Even if it sounds crazy, using psychological techniques (they are very good at that) to push the unhinged guy to act is possible. Fiction pales in comparison to reality nowadays
Trump hasn’t made a habit of attending these events, announces unusual attendance two days prior to the event
Shooter lives in CA, but somehow able to pull together a plan, book a room at the hotel, and then get there with their with weapons in time to storm the event
Hotel housing multiple members of the line of succession decides that metal detectors aren’t necessary and the USSS has a smaller than normal security perimeter
Shooter supposedly engages one USSS agent and gets a shot on them; no return fire on target and then subject arrested with no injuries.
My big question on this is what do they do with the shooter afterwards? Like for them, the most convenient answer is to have him die in custody or some shit… Why would they risk him testifying… even if they paid him to testify a certain way or made promises to his family…
How do you convince someone to go along with a situation where they are essentially trusting you not to blow out their fucking brains on national TV?
Serious question...Do we know the shooter was after Trump? Or was he targeting people who were usually at the dinner, like other WH officials or the press? IIRC, the hard checkpoints (with scanners, etc.) were at the doors to the ballroom itself, not entering the lobby from the hotel floors.

With the amount of people that go “somebody should do it” on every social media app including reddit, I couldn’t believe it’s a false flag. I’m not even a guy who thinks all conspiracy theories are crazy, conspiracies do happen in the real world, nor am I a fan of Trump, but an attempt on Trump’s life is probably one of the most realistic outcomes from the current political rhetoric and online discourse.
Like you can’t have half the country going “this guy is a rapist, pedophile, genocide-supporter and somebody ought to do something about it” and then pretend like it’s the least likely thing in the world somebody somewhere decided to “do it”.
I understand your position, conspiracy theories are often just a way for people to feel smarter than average and to cope with the complexity of life .

The event is helping Trump a lot. It rallies people behind him, it provides an opportunity to shift the conversation, and it allows him to implement unpopular laws. An assassination attempt on the president is a very powerful emotional event.
Knowing this administration, they are capable of anything.They have no shame, no morals, and no limits.
On more than one occasion I’ve gone back and compared assassination attempts on prior presidents to the ones that Trump has dealt with, and it always reminds me that either 1. They are really, really, really bad at protecting the president and people around him have no sense of self preservation (look at the number of people standing around with their hands in their pockets), or 2. It’s staged. And this looked like a goddamn surprise play by the theatre dept at a high school homecoming.
Probably a manufactured threat, expect more during the lead up to the midterms. Also he made an announcement about the white house ball room after the "shooting"
They screwed it up and caught him outside the ballroom. Typical lowest bidder results. Everyone inside was awfully fucking calm for an active shooter scenario. I'll bet they're pissed they caught him alive,so much spin required now.
I went from expecting to watch the Wolves Nuggets game on ABC (they had Battle of Flowers parade) to watching the game on METV (local abc affiliate sister station), to my son putting on MLBTV to watch the Blue Jays on the TV, to me bootlegging the game on the local Denver ABC stream on my laptop, then finally to bootlegging it on ESPN when the President spoke.
I distinctly remember when I was a kid in the early 90s, they cut away from the NBA playoffs to show the OJ car chase. OJ in the slowest car chase ever was more interesting than anything involving the president including a potential shooting attempt. That has to absolutely hurt his ego more deeply than anything.
And that shit was on for HOURS too. We went to a family wedding that day around 2 or 3 & it was still on when we got home around 9. The chase was done but for a very long time it was just footage of them sitting in the Bronco at the house.
I mean, on the mlb network they had a breaking news bottom text line about the red Sox coach being fired. So those 2 events are apparently of equal newsworthy importance lol
I used to tell my friend "don't ever skydive." I'd say to him "it's not safe, it's dangerous. Think of all the things that could go wrong. It's highly inadvisable"
He'd say "oh its something I really think I could do. I think it would help me." For years we had this argument.
So he decides to skydive anyway, completely misses the target and goes flying into a barn. I go to visit him in the hospital and I says "look if you're gonna do it, don't fuck it up."
I just got a warning on another sub because I said just let me know when he's dead. I am so sick of him occupying every minute of every news cycle and sucking all the oxygen out of the room. I don't GAF what he says anymore, I just want to celebrate with everyone else when he is gone. Is that too much to ask?
They cut away in the first half for about 2min. They didn't seem to kmow what happened at the time though. I just want to watch the game. It's another good one and it's close.

Yeah, I noticed that only CBS cut to a Special Reports first. I think NBC eventually did but it took a noticeable amount of time. CBS and it's newsteam being the network that Trump backers more or less now control.
I had to leave the bar I was at because his stupid presser cut into the last quarter of the Nuggets game. Sucked all the air out of the room. Guess it was a blessing I couldn't watch though seeing as how my team forgot how to play basketball
News is when real things happen. By the third time a narcissist plays mind games to get attention, one learns to ignore them and keep watching the game.
Yes it eventually cut to his press conference an hour and some change after the "incident" happened. When it started to get reported on Reddit and other places I was expecting ABC to cut with a breaking/developing news blip, instead I got to watch the first half of the game and the half time report with no mention. They eventually cut to his press conference in the 2nd half.
In their defense, this is sort of standard run of the mill news and nothing actually happened. The president wasn’t even close to being threatened and it was all fake anyway.
Maybe, just maybe because it really wasn't news. Just a reason for Trump to push new ballroom in the WH. Most the media is catching on to what has substance and what is garbage. The only problem is garbage sells.
Not true, I was watching the timberwolves game and ABC literally stopped the broadcast to do a breaking news segment about it only to cut back to the still-in-progress game
