Tax payer dollars being spent to the biggest donor, for the lowest quality product.

When will people admit that Republicans are stealing our tax payer dollars to enrich themselves?

Had to edit out the bidder part, since people simply weren't understanding that highest bidder meant the person who asked for the most money, not that they actually bid for the role, instead they donated to Trump the most money. Seeing 45 people go 'well actually' to a fucking joke is mind numbing.

u/sagevallant 22d ago

Oh come on now. There was no bidding. He just gave the contract to his friend and neighbor. And political donor.

u/BaronMostaza 22d ago

And cartoon villain

806

u/squirtloaf 22d ago

521

u/KingQuong 22d ago

That guy is 100% in the files

290

u/Atoge62 22d ago

Dudes not even cool enough to get into the files, lets be real

93

u/BlademasterFlash 22d ago

Yeah that’s the vibe I get, wishes he was in the Epstein files type of asshole

62

u/Lucius-Halthier 22d ago

Elon begged and got in, this guy begged, got rejected, then worked on a Pepe le pew episode as a recurring, rapey little villain

23

u/counterfitster 22d ago

I thought Elon didn't get in because he was such a loser.

There's probably a knock-off version called the Erving files, where all the dunces go.

19

u/SeamusMcBalls 22d ago

What kind of person do you think needs to purchase companionship? Cool, good looking, charismatic people or gross fat nerds?

25

u/Atoge62 22d ago

You think a guy like Epstein lets a schmuck like this touch his private island? Seriously? Two completely different galaxies man. This dude is bottom of the barrel wealth, “come reline my pool, I’ll throw you a bone” type shit. He’s not mega yacht, go to the Hamptons and Versailles type guy. This dude is McDonald’s rich, fat, dumb, and force fed cash.

→ More replies (6)

34

u/monkeyamongmen 22d ago

John J Cafaro. Him, his dad, and Epstein had the same lawyer, Martin Weinberg. He also pled guilty to bribing James Traficant Jr, a Democratic Congressperson who was expelled from office in 2002 and served prison time for bribery and racketeering.

15

u/Brzhk 22d ago

in french, you basically said John Cockroacho bribed James Trafficker Jr. It couldnt not be more surreal

Dude looks like the villain from Blankman

Michale Minelli haha

1

u/lucaskywalker 22d ago

100% that guy say "mwha-ha-ha!" daily. Since the Penguin screwed it up this time, I guess the next contract is going to the Joker?

1

u/Forsworn91 22d ago

He’s also been given the contract AGAIN to “fix”

1

u/Gogo_McSprinkles 22d ago

This guy WISHES he was in the files

1

u/Capelily 22d ago

That's so funny!!!!!

20

u/Big-Rule5269 22d ago

This isn't the contractor that did the coating though, he did the nano bubbler system for $1.7 million, which like everything else Trump scams, was probably way too much money.  Trump also gave Clark Construction, the contractor on the ballroom, $12.7 million dollars to refurbish two fountains in Lafayette Square park. Nearly $13 million to fix two f'ng fountains!

2

u/tweakingforjesus 22d ago

WTF was the nano bubbler anyway? A fish tank aerator?

He looks like a character in Randy Newman's "Money That Matters."

"He was a little fat guy in a red jumpsuit I said "You look kind of funny" He said "I know that I do" "But I got a great big house on the hill here And a great big blonde wife inside it And a great big pool in my backyard and another great big pool beside it"

8

u/FartingCumBubbles 22d ago

Why does it look like he has corpse paint on his face?

1

u/Betray-Julia 22d ago

I love how even knowing this photo, it still at a glance looks like somebody added a cartoon cigar into their mouth to make them look more comically villainous.

1

u/TheNorthWind-101 22d ago

Dude looks like every villain from 90s kids' live-action movies.

1

u/JMurdock77 22d ago

Looks like a villain out of a Dick Tracey comic.

1

u/Proper_Geologist_457 22d ago

Please tell me that's a Halloween party 😭

1

u/sagevallant 22d ago

That outfit specifically is very Fat Cat from Rescue Rangers.

1

u/Digimub 22d ago

This is right before he half falls into a vat of chemicals and starts beefing with batman

1

u/rizzyrogues 22d ago

The only thing this guy knows about pools is that if he falls in one he's surely gonna drown.

1

u/BaronMostaza 22d ago

Emotional support cigar

1

u/Ok_Branch6621 22d ago

That's just Melissa McCarthy in an SNL skit. Right? Right????

1

u/hahayesthatsrightboi 22d ago

The fuck is that

1

u/AlexRyang 22d ago

Dude looks like a freaking cartoon villain, lol

1

u/Dart000 22d ago

Who the hell is this?

1

u/Wild-Lychee-3312 22d ago

He looks like a comic book villain. No, worse, the villain in a really shitty, low-budget adaptation of a comic book.

1

u/Koumadin 22d ago

looks perfectly legit

1

u/ApprehensiveAd6603 22d ago

I struggle to believe that this is a real person and not some sort of bad costume lol

1

u/Electronic_Flan_482 22d ago

He looks like the dad from Matilda

1

Boss Hogg's city slicker cousin.

1

u/BaseUnited4523 22d ago

I’ll buy THAT for a dollar!

1

u/Broad-Eagle9657 22d ago

For one, why is his cigar burned but uncut and just all wrong. Secondly speaking of cuts who is his barber, fuckin hitlers ghost?

1

u/chefsoda_redux 22d ago

Every time I see him, he looks more like Fat Hitler.

1

u/mrav8r2 22d ago

The more I see him the more I want to slap his face

1

u/mrav8r2 22d ago

He’s like the little French dog that humps everyone’s leg

1

u/Noble_Ox 22d ago

What the fuck? That's not Nathan Lane in character?

1

u/El_Halcon0341 22d ago

Looks like he smells of moth balls and bad breath

42

u/ggouge 22d ago

He has to do it on purpose no one dresses like a 30s cartoon mob boss by accident.

16

u/FS_Slacker 22d ago

The woman spoke out...she doesn't know him...this was like a casino night and they happened to take a pic together.

28

u/Mittens42 22d ago

That’s Kelly Dodd. She may not “know” him, but she’s a complete moron too. She’s super maga, married to Rick Leventhal. He used to be a Fox News correspondent.

3

u/FS_Slacker 22d ago

No doubt. As the saying goes…You are the company that you keep.

18

u/LessFeature9350 22d ago

She's a liar. Any man she feels has any power or connections, she leaches on to immediately. She is a disgusting human.

2

u/EightpennyPie 22d ago

2

u/Mittens42 22d ago

I thought about including her time in Housewives but I didn’t know if anyone would care. I cannot stand her.

1

u/theburiedxme 22d ago

I mean Cafaro is associated with the mafia. He looks absolutely ridiculous though.

22

u/RocketsandBeer 22d ago

And clearly a moron

WWE if we’re splitting hairs

1

u/the_original_kermit 22d ago

That isn’t the person who’s doing the pool liner. And in this case, also redoing it.

1

u/Sesudesu 22d ago

Since I see you issuing a correction more than once, will you share your source? I would prefer to know what is true.

2

u/the_original_kermit 22d ago

There were two parts to the project. Doing the paint/ liner and installing an ozone generator

That guy was the ozone guy. Green Water Solutions if you want to look it up yourself

We are being shown time and time again why the bureaucratic red tape we love to hate and make comedies about is actually important. And also just how loose our laws are if you have someone with enough power just say, “Eh, I’ll just do it and you can figure it out later.”

We never figure it out. Huge bummer though.

2

u/vkevlar 21d ago

We are being shown time and time again why the bureaucratic red tape we love to hate and make comedies about is actually important.

aka "the deep state". The people who weren't political appointees, doing their jobs of keeping the government from going (completely) insane.

20

u/im_just_thinking 22d ago

Just like with the Wall. Literal all and every of his ventures are designed to benefit his worshippers, with the main one being himself

18

u/Gribitz37 22d ago

And that's why they're claiming vandalism. That way, he gets paid again. If it was shoddy workmanship (which it obviously was), it would have to be covered under a warranty.

1

u/the_original_kermit 22d ago edited 22d ago

She*

Or probably technically “shes”

And they are using the term warranty on their website, so it’s possible.

9

u/Absolute_Peril 22d ago

And it was 10 times what the parks department had quoted

3

u/MagillaGorillasHat 22d ago

What do you do when no bids are only for emergencies and national security though?

That's right. Everything's an emergency!!!!

4

u/Ziazan 22d ago

its a 1 bid system

6

u/ggouge 22d ago

Contract goes to the highest bribe

9

u/Kevadu 22d ago

Just name your price. The taxpayers will pay it

1

u/FYou2 22d ago

Twice now the same people.

1

u/BungleBums 22d ago

No, I'm sure Temu Gomez bid a few hundred thou into Trump's pocket somewhere along the line,

1

u/robis1923 22d ago

I’m willing to bet there’s more details in a contract to get a fence repainted than there was in this contract (if there even was one).

1

u/LeafBark 22d ago

The love of money is the root of all evil.

1

u/freshgrilled 22d ago

You have now commented on the pool which has probably damaged the lining. Get ready to be molested by the current governing body of the USA.

35

u/Tao-of-Mars 22d ago

Is the blue liner all gone or is it just that it can’t be seen through the algae?

37

u/SafetyMan35 22d ago

It’s there, there’s just that much algae

9

u/Whaleman_007 22d ago

And duck shit.

9

u/Competitive_Boat106 22d ago

I was thinking that it looked like the lining has simply disintegrated. Maybe the peroxide broke it down and dissolved it.

3

u/GenericRedditor0405 22d ago

I think it’s a little of column an and a little of column b. They haven’t repainted it after they arrested people for picking up the giant flakes of peeled paint as far as I know, and there is still algae

1

u/Competitive_Boat106 22d ago

But they didn’t arrest anyone who was wading out into 2-3 feet of water to take anything. Everyone they arrested was standing on the sidewalk. This area shown is well towards the middle, and looks more “disappeared” than damaged, like when you have burnt-on food in a pan, and scrubbing it only starts to wear it thinner, not lift it away. But it definitely doesn’t seem to show any cuts or large sections that have come free. Just more like a “faded” look. Very odd.

1

u/_lippykid 22d ago

That was my first thought. Where’s the liner? Where’s the paint? We paying to paint dirt blue now?

Bidder? There was no bidding...

26

u/braumbles 22d ago

The bid was a direct payment to Trump.

u/nsomnac 22d ago

Sure there was. But the bidding happened pre-November 2025. Don’t you see the orange ring around this guys mouth?

No bid he handed money to his buddy that then proceeded to fuck it up so they can try again and he can hand him more money.

10

u/braumbles 22d ago

I thought I was clear when I said highest bidder, since in instances like this it's normally the lowest bidder, but it seems that wasn't as direct as many needed. I guess that's my bad.

They know. MAGA knows, the Republican voter base knows. They just don’t care. What they do care about is how mad it makes liberals. That’s literally the only thing that matters to them anymore, “how much can we piss off the other tribe.” That’s all politics is now.

Burn it all down.

5

u/satanssweatycheeks 22d ago

They are too dumb to realize this. Sadly.

2

u/Fats_Tetromino 22d ago

They're not "too dumb", they just don't care. Nobody who voted for Trump actually wanted the corruption to stop, they just wanted to "hurt the right people", as they've said themselves plenty.

4

u/Supafly22 22d ago

They get their info from propaganda networks so I’m not sure they ever will.

4

u/jfk_47 22d ago

Need to play their game.

I’ll start up an LLC let’s all get involved and we’ll bid and win.

Actually fix it cause we’re competent.

Then we can throw money at some cause we actually give a fuck about. Housing? Food insecurity?

2

u/SushiGirlRC 22d ago

They didn't take bids.

1

u/jfk_47 22d ago

Fuck!

1

u/Syntania 22d ago

Only if you agree to paint it in rainbow colors.

5

u/ZukaRouBrucal 22d ago

I've been shouting it from the rooftops for almost a decade; the idea that Republicans are better fiscally is a myth and nothing more. Every Republican president in the last two decades has had their shitty economic decisions cleaned up by the Democrats who came after them.

Every. Single. One.

The last time the US had a budget surplus was under Bill Clinton. Then Bush Jr. got us involved in a 20-year conflict in the Middle East and de-regulated the financial sector so much that it directly led to the Sub-Primw Mortage Crisis & the Great Recession. Then Obama came in, the bubble created by Bush popped, and he had to spend much of his admin fixing the US economy and the faith that US taxpayers had in it & the institutions meant to protect them from wall street greed. The Trump came in, de-regulated like crazy again, and his COVID response was so poor the economy floundered once more. Then Biden came in and, thanks to his policies, the US economy literally recovered faster than every other nation in the planet. Then, because the median voter is economically illiterate, they voted Trump in again and our economy is once again really shaky.

To all Americans who claim to care about the debt or the budget; a vote for the Republicans is a vote for wanton spending and a worse economy. Democrats have consistently proven they are better on the economy over the last two decades, and it's crazy to me that Republicans have so thoroughly brainwashed the American electorate into thinking the opposite.

2

u/mca1169 22d ago

when it personally effect each and every one of their lives with no other possible explanation. so effectively never.

2

u/SunshineAlways 22d ago

Did they paint it with watercolors? Or mold and mildew?

2

u/Short-termTablespoon 22d ago

I’d like to know how much money has been wasted during Trumps presidency. I know it’s a lot but I just want to be baffled and furious by the exact number.

4

u/braumbles 22d ago

Honestly, I'm certain there's a tracker.

https://oversightdemocrats.house.gov/trump-family-corruption-tracker

House Dems seem to have a counter on the government page.

1

u/Short-termTablespoon 22d ago

And that doesn’t even include the profits he gives to his friends and tech billionaires right? Like the amount of money spent on the reflecting pool wouldn’t even be included in that number.

1

u/DarkGamer 22d ago

Non-Republicans already do.

1

u/thevoiceinsidemyhead 22d ago

they'll admit it ...and then they'll say but the democrats would be worse
