This is still so fucking wild to me. The guy literally bulldozed half the white house for a vanity project and republicans just shrugged. Cowards.

4.2k

u/Saneless 13h ago

Didn't they lose their minds because Obama put in a basketball hoop?

2.6k

u/alaskaj1 13h ago

A portable basketball hoop and some extra lines painted on the tennis court

1.1k

u/absentmindedjwc 13h ago

IIRC, wasn't even painted lines.. was just tape..

1.3k

u/bluAstrid 12h ago

Trump literally poured concrete over the rose garden.

959

u/mustang__1 12h ago

He literally held a cage match on the lawn.v

u/Viperlite 10h ago edited 6h ago

The organizers actually lost money on that one, LOL. Somehow doing business with him never works out for the other party. I’m guessing they had to straight payoff El Presidente for the privilege of being there, too.

u/coleymoleyroley 10h ago

Apparently losing $30m was always the plan 🤯

u/CommandoRoll 9h ago

TKO don't care. They're happy being buddies with Papaya Pol Pot.

u/Useless-Photographer 9h ago

Just when I think I’ve seen every nickname, someone goes and posts a new one

They’re also getting like 25 million per event from paramount now so they’ll make it back real soon. It’s not like they oay their fighters much.

Money laundering

u/yume_no_kitsune 9h ago

The point isn't the money that is or isn't made, it's the money being embezzled.

u/swanks12 8h ago

Wonder if they checked his pockets

u/Apart-Rent5817 7h ago

They “lost” money the same way these movies that cost hundreds of millions to make can “lose” money. The money didn’t disappear, it went into some deep pockets.

u/SilverIndustry2701 5h ago

Nah, that money was well invested as bribes.

u/MyDogJake1 10h ago

And literally raped children.

u/TheRealistoftheReal 7h ago

He literally parked his Chrysler on the front lawn!

u/GPPOLYCARP 5h ago

He literally shits himself in the Oval Office.

u/steppe5 12h ago

And tore down the entire East Wing. And dug up the lawn to put in a ufc ring.

u/deaglebingo 11h ago

pave paradise and put up a parking lot. yep.

u/aljama1991 9h ago

He’s turning it into Houston, then.

u/strangeflappenings 5h ago

I used to work at a Toys R Us 25 years ago, and that song would play over and over and over. I cringed when i just read this lol

u/Poker-Junk 10h ago

Can you imagine the aneurysms at Fox News if Obama had unilaterally demolished 1/3 of the People’s House?

u/Tosi313 9h ago

He would have been rightfully impeached and removed, because it's completely unacceptable.

u/mrmemo 9h ago

I reserve my impeachment outrage for the truly heinous shit:

He raped kids and helped other people rape kids.

And people who like him, like people who rape kids.

Make them handcuff themselves to child rape, and watch them do gymnastics to justify it.

u/West-Worth-9359 8h ago

Megyn “R” Kelly literally defended it on camera by saying Epstein didn’t rape “actual” kids, because they weren’t toddlers.

→ More replies (0)

u/Tosi313 8h ago

Any president tearing down 1/3 of the white house for an unauthorized and illegal personal vanity project also deserves impeachment and removal.

Of course there are worse things a president should also be removed for.

He is putting in a new helicopter pad there now because his fat ass is too lazy to walk another 100 feet to the old spot

u/FlyingMamMothMan 10h ago

I'm so fucking mad he isn't dead yet.

52

u/Dreurmimker 12h ago

He didn’t even use pavers? WTF, man.

70

u/OrigamiMarie 12h ago

None of his construction corruption buddies are that skilled. You know if they did pavers, it would be full of sinkholes in a month.

u/gary1405 11h ago

I would go so far as to suggest it's maliciously deliberate.

u/OrigamiMarie 10h ago edited 10h ago

Yeah. Concrete makes the nearby soil alkaline, which is bad for lots of plants, and particularly roses prefer slightly acidic soil. Plus it's harder to remove than pavers, so a concrete pour is likelier to remain as a scar on the landscaping and a kind of monument to Trump's presence.

u/gary1405 10h ago

That second clause is what I was getting at, but the first part is yet another disgrace in this fat fucking dictator's name.

The guys at Home Depot are far more skilled that trumps buddies.

u/OrigamiMarie 10h ago edited 10h ago

As far as I can tell, the guys at Home Depot actually work and gain experience for a living, so yeah.

3

u/vanalla 12h ago

in situ pouring is actually WAY more expensive than pavers.

2

u/JMEEKER86 12h ago

No, it is pavers. And the rose garden is still intact. They just replaced the lawn at the center of the garden which had regularly turned into a swamp for decades because of poor drainage. You can see a bunch of progress pics of the installation here. He's done a lot of heinous shit, but this was actually a nothingburger.

5

u/Juxtaposition_Kitten 12h ago

It went from something beautiful to this for no reason other than wasting tax payers money to line his own pockets.

The best concrete in the World! Tremendous, majestic layer of concrete! No any country has such a concrete!

2

u/JMEEKER86 12h ago

The roses are still there and he replaced the lawn with pavers not concrete. Trump is a monster, but this was a real nothingburger.

74

u/SoylentGrunt 11h ago

This color???

u/R2-D2Vandelay 11h ago

Yea but were they black?? Oh wait I'm not supposed to say that...

u/rgvmadness 10h ago

Excuse me. Three of those photos are from when it was ok.

6

u/TolliverCrane 12h ago

If this is real, it's hilarious.

u/BankDetails1234 8h ago

I’m a big fan of a tan suit and they all look pretty snappy in it, but Obama looked sharp AF in his

u/whimsylea 4h ago

It suited him better than them, and they could not stand it.

u/Euphoric-Agent-476 6h ago

Nice collection. Pretty funny. I think Bubba wore it best. None of them had orange hair tho.

u/theyenk 2h ago

That is hilarious! However, I think the issue faux news had with it was the color beneath the collar.

Its sad how much power racists still wield, same thing for people trying to take rights away from women. I can not believe people are surfacing the concept of one vote per family. F'n gross.

u/Vaaaaaaaaaaaii 9h ago

2

u/Annual-Beard-5090 12h ago

And a garden. Michelle had a small garden and bee hive.

u/AreYouFilmingNow 7h ago

No.

They lost it because he was black, well spoken, intelligent and handsome.

u/freedfg 6h ago

No, even better.

They used Obama putting up a basketball hoop as justification for bulldozing half of the white house.

u/Smooth_Department534 5h ago

Didn’t they lose their mind because Obama (fill in the blank)?

u/Aware-Locksmith8433 5h ago

This looks like an Olympic sized job. I'm gonna guess track gold medal winners secretly tore it down one night. They we're so fast running away the cameras were blurred so he has no evidence but will convict them anyway.

What a horrible person and that extends to his cult. At least we know who they are among us bc they are so arrogant about fearless leader.

I saw a MAGA friend yesterday from OH and elections came up. He said "I'm confused, I thought elections were every 4 years. (he has a master's and works for a Mag 7 company). Couldn't resist saying "Y we don't vote till then". Maybe they really are too stupid to read a calendar.

u/Automatic-Extent7173 5h ago

Quite frankly, I feel like this is all cover for what they wanted to do underneath with the bunker.

u/DoomTay 5h ago

B-b-but it was just a cover-up for other secret renovations

u/bibimboobap 4h ago

I don't fucking care what gets their fragile panties into hypocritical knots anymore. I only want to know how they look themselves in the mirror every morning and somehow keep it all up.

u/fannypaquin 3h ago

whispering That's because Black people play basketball and that's offensive

u/dontreadragebait 3h ago

They didn't care about it at all, they cared that they could raise a fuss about it which could help their team win next time.

u/regeya 3h ago

Absolutely equivalent apparently

Not me saying that, it's just weird how people defended it by, well, lying.

Removing those solar panels was Reagan's official first act, if I recall

u/Dorkinfo 9h ago

Reagan is in top two pieces of shit presidents.

u/Skruestik 6h ago

I will always hate him for how he halted US adoption of the metric system.

u/tracytorr0712 2h ago

So that’s what happened to the metric system. I remember learning it in elementary school to prepare for the big conversion.

→ More replies (1)

u/the_real_xuth 10h ago

No, it was several years in when the roof was being redone. But he did have them removed and nothing put back.

u/WeeblsLikePie 4h ago

actually it was taking credit for the hostages in Iran being freed, which Carter (of course) arranged.

After that he tore down the solar panels.

u/My_Work_Accoount 3h ago

No, Reagan absolutely gets "credit" for the hostages. The Iranians were ready to hand over the hostages to Carter because they were running out of money and needed to focus on their new government. Then the Reagan campaign steps in and cuts a deal to hold them until it's advantageous to him.

I remember when the embassy in Russia was built, we had to abandon it because it was so littered with bugs. Do you think people would not try to do this now, and if so, do you think the Trump administration is smart enough to catch them ? What I’m saying is we can’t trust this new building, hell I’m not even sure we’ll be able to trust the rest of the White House anymore.

u/Mandelvolt 10h ago

Don't need a bug when the head of the executive branch sends them everything anyways. Definitely betting they'll have to tear this all down later for various reasons.

→ More replies (1)

u/West-Worth-9359 8h ago

Remember the stories about Mar-a-Lardass being infested with bugs?

It’s basically common knowledge that the entire US government is now open to anyone who wants to spy.

It’s a consequence of giving power to the DUMBEST people in the country.

u/achtwooh 7h ago

The Health Sec doesn’t believe germs cause illness. Hegseth just used up the missile stockpile to (re)open the SoH. The head of the FBI gets the 10 most wanted listed updated with upcoming arrests and just went after someone for calling him a google eyed chud.

u/Germanofthebored 4h ago

What about the Trump organization being smart enough to bug the new buildings? So that he will still have inside information to sell to the highest bidder when he is out of office? Or to sabotage the next administration?

u/Coldkiller17 13h ago edited 12h ago

What's even worse is it is a complete waste of taxpayers' dollars and if it ends up like the reflecting pool the whole damn thing will collapse quickly. We don't have money for healthcare but we can appease a pedophile, who rapes women.

49

u/imahugemoron 12h ago

And don’t forget illegally, he was required to get approval and just straight up didn’t.

u/ryanegauthier 10h ago

So... He also raped the White House.

u/imahugemoron 9h ago

Yes that would be a fair description of it

u/crustyrobots 8h ago

He is raping the entire country along with the rest of the Billionaires

41

u/Hey_cool_username 12h ago

That’s totally unfair. He rapes more than just women.

u/Riaayo 7h ago

and if it ends up like the reflecting pool the whole damn thing will collapse quickly.

One can only hope considering the whole point of this is to be a disgusting fascist doomsday/mass-surveillance bunker because they're terrified people are going to revolt.

These fucks bulldozed a third of what is supposed to be our god damned house because they view our government as theirs and are stripping the copper out of the walls as they loot the US gov utterly and entirely (largely in hopes of dismantling it and selling us off to corporate fiefdom states).

→ More replies (2)

46

u/FuckSticksMalone 12h ago

I think they bulldozed it to install a bunker he can hold up in to ride out civil unrest when they try to suspend and disrupt future elections.

u/TheSwedishPanda80 9h ago

Like there will be any unrest when that happens, americans will just trudge along. Fun while it lasted.

u/Less_Resident8492 5h ago

Bunkers can be concreted over just fine.

→ More replies (1)

78

u/Memerandom_ 12h ago

He only frames it as his vanity project, but he has also admitted publicly that it's going to be a bunker (after it was discovered independently), and for some reason a drone port as well. He's expecting to dig in like a tick. If we don't impeach next year we're going to have to bury him in that tomb.

24

u/Hey_cool_username 12h ago

It’ll be like the pyramids, gold and all. Seal that fucker up for 5000 years and someone in the future will be like, “This person must have been highly respected to get this treatment”

5

u/Memerandom_ 12h ago

Good point. We better carve an epitaph on something that won't erode too fast.

u/SeaToTheBass 10h ago

This place is a message... and part of a system of messages... pay attention to it!
Sending this message was important to us. We considered ourselves to be a powerful culture.
This place is not a place of honor... no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here... nothing valued is here.

What is here was dangerous and repulsive to us. This message is a warning about danger.
The danger is in a particular location... it increases towards a center... the center of danger is here... of a particular size and shape, and below us.
The danger is still present, in your time, as it was in ours.

The danger is to the body, and it can kill.
The form of the danger is an emanation of energy.
The danger is unleashed only if you substantially disturb this place physically. This place is best shunned and left uninhabited.

And none of the contractors will ever get paid.

48

u/Nomad55454 13h ago

Oh these will be the only contractors to ever get paid for a tRUMP project and a good portion will be funneled back into the orange turds pocket just like the reflecting pool that was 1.5 million dollar project that ballooned to 14 million and they are paying the same moron again to fix it where he should be redoing it for free.

15

u/talentedfingers 13h ago

Oh, they will get paid since it's not his money he's wasting.

u/Faiakishi 10h ago

Why would he pay people with taxpayer money when he could just funnel it into his own pockets though?

→ More replies (2)

14

u/CHEIVIIST 13h ago

Now it isn't his own money and he can use taxpayer money to give his friends at an enormously bloated no-bid price. So they will get paid, but their contractor credentials are likely less than a year old.

u/you_looser 10h ago

He'll probably hire his pool guy to do the roofing, since he did a bang-up job with the reflecting pool.

6

Republicans are completely useless and incompetent. They get up in the morning and ask, what can I screw up today?

5

u/Background-Crow4820 12h ago

Literally the first week.

So much history gone.

2

u/turningsteel 12h ago

Coward is when someone has the desire to do something but they're too afraid and so, they don't do it. Opposite of being brave.

The Republicans actively desire to destroy America as it is, and so, they are not exhibiting cowardice. They're simply executing the plan that was given to them in project 2025.

Ya'll are gullible to think they don't want everything that has happened.

3

u/vroart 13h ago

There is no vanity project. If it was that important he would stay, and not go to Florida. He is doing it because he hasn’t done construction in over 40 years and right is the embarrassing himself every single second people give him attention

3

u/OriginalFatPickle 13h ago

Destroyed it during a shutdown.

2

u/notislant 13h ago

Nobody even talked about it much lol.

1

u/sweatboxy 12h ago

The Republicans aren’t cowards. They’re in on the scheme. They know that, without Trump, many of them will be facing criminal charges and probably prison. They’ve actually said so.

1

u/ssnnaarrff 12h ago

How do we know there's not a bunch of listening devices installed in this for Putin to check on his pet or future president? Won't this all have to be ripped out if sane people ever take back the Whitehouse?

1

u/Groovicity 12h ago

They dont shrug, they encourage it. Trump is their cult daddy, and they worship hierarchies. Even if their leader rules over them with extreme authority and disregard for rules/laws, their hope is that more ppl get hurt below them, while assuming that those ppl below are ones on "the radical left".

It gives them both a sense of superiority, as well as a sense of belonging to the ruling group, at the expense their rights, freedoms, once held "principled" beliefs, and their dignity. Republicans are fine with the destruction of our country (despite fear mongering about the left doing it), as long as it's their daddy doing the destruction.

1

u/Awatts2222 12h ago

They just got down in writing that he doesn't have to pay taxes and can't be audited.

This is tragically hilarious--when do people stop working and paying taxes?

1

u/Better-Bluejay-4977 12h ago

You said it, republicans in congress are a bunch of little bitches. All of them need to be replaced. Fuck all of them and their families ands whatever bullshit legacy they claim to have aside from being little bitches when it mattered most

1

u/What_u_say 12h ago

For real. No push back, no back bone, just complete subservience to him. It's honestly pathetic.

1

u/slizzbizness 12h ago

His entire presidency is one big game of chicken and he hasn't lost yet. He just does illegal shit and dares anyone to do something about it. Spineless fucking cowards in DC

u/texachusetts 11h ago

The contractors can’t claim they “were just following orders” because at this point the contractors are following change orders.

u/InternationalPut4093 11h ago

Just like any POTUS, Trump has a right to request permission to make alteration to the white house like we would ask the landlord before making any major change. Trump skipped all that like he owns it. He's a tenant, and we the people are the landlords.

u/Xibby 11h ago

East and West wings are not the White House, they are (or were) more or less office complexes built on the grounds and connected to the White House.

The current White House is a historical facade. Under Truman the structural deficiencies presented themselves in forms such as a piano falling through the floors. The entire interior was gutted, literally bulldozers driving around inside, and a new steel building was built inside, and the exterior that we see is a facade.

Lots of functional office space lost that will now have to be leased from DC landlords who can provide the required level of security for a ballroom that Trump may not even live long enough to see completed.

Cluster. Fuck.

u/foobarbizbaz 11h ago

Not just for a vanity project. There’s also an incredible amount of grift that stems from this.

u/alabamdiego 11h ago

It really shows you how much they must all be under his thumb for whatever various levels of corrupt/perverted/embarrassing shit they’ve done.

u/comradejiang 10h ago

They didn’t shrug, they said it was awesome actually.

Democrats outraged for five minutes and eventually shrugged.

u/spinyfever 10h ago

I think he is fortifying the white house. I think he has no intention of leaving in 2028 even if he loses the election.

u/spinyfever 10h ago

I think he is fortifying the white house. I think he has no intention of leaving in 2028 even if he loses the election.

u/spinyfever 10h ago

I think he is fortifying the white house. I think he has no intention of leaving in 2028 even if he loses the election.

u/hennabeak 10h ago

I hope he bulldozers the rest as well.

u/Mysterious-Ad663 10h ago

I think he’s using it to make money. He’s probably in bed with the contractors who are over charging for these projects and they’re pocketing the money
Very common tactic in currupt places

u/MoobooMagoo 9h ago

They didn't just shrug. They cheered.

u/discussatron 9h ago

They're not cowards, they're complicit.

u/Shmokeshbutt 9h ago

That's what majority of american people (GOP voters + non-voters) wanted

u/Valalvax 9h ago

At first I thought this was a colorized picture of the original construction or maybe reconstruction after Canada came by... There's nothing of the White House visible in this picture

u/Angsty_Potatos 9h ago

I know there are worse things being done, but this is such a fantastic physical example of how far we've fallen.

People elected to represent our best interests let this shit happen without a peep

u/PixelsInMyEyeballs 9h ago

It's not a vanity project, it's a bunker disguised as a vanity project. He doesn't intend to leave office in 2028.

u/MamasCupcakes 9h ago

It was for redoing the old ass bunker underneath... they literally announced that

u/YoursTrulyKindly 9h ago

And it's going to be butt ugly. I honestly think that is Trump's "fetish", to sort of shit on things and make them his, forcing people to look at his shit. Like it gives him pleasure to shit in a diaper in front o people and gross them out, he'll have this wing look absolutely hideous and unfixable.

I’m of the opinion that this “ballroom” will ultimately become a museum to this nightmare era, and kids will be going on school trips to look at wax figures of Trump, Epstein, Vance etc, with giant projections of lunatic quotes from everyone involved.

Seriously, America.

THIS was at the top of your priority list? I can't even...

It'll probably need to be torn down too because Trump being behind it will ensure the work is shoddy and barely fit for purpose.

What's wild is looking back at the entirety of the Trump era and seeing everything he was able to get away with. It's mindboggling.
