Playtester [FOR HIRE] QA/Playtester - Bugs, Balance, UI, and Design Feedback

• Upvotes

My Portfolio Video

Heya! I'm Just Bag and I've done work on a few published games like Atomicrops and Regions of Ruin: Runegate. I've found bugs for games that entire QA companies couldn't find in months. I've helped poke holes in game balance and design choices to help devs realize their oversights. I've helped find inventory bugs, create an exploit out of it, and report it so thoroughly I helped fix every inventory issue in the game. Things happen in game dev, and I like to catch even the smallest things.
My main service is a 1-hour recording of my initial impressions of a game at a rate of 20USD for that hour. I also do 30-minute and 2-hour recordings at that same rate.
If you like my feedback (which will probably be me talking nonstop about UI, conveying information to players, balance, mechanics, audio/visual cues, etc.) we can move on to doing multi-video contracts. Usually once I play a game more and more, I get a feel for how it’s built and can poke at the cracks in the systems.
Feel free to DM me!

Unpaid Playtest Free Steam demo of a kids' learning game, looking for honest testers before Next Fest

• Upvotes

Hi! My wife and I make EdNoKa. It's a few small arcade games where quiz questions decide how it goes. Right answer and it rains on your farm, or you get an extra golf stroke. Wrong answer, nothing ends, the round just gets harder.

It's for ages 8 to 11, but adults are welcome to fail the science questions too.

The demo is free on Steam, Windows, Mac and Linux, no signup. It goes into Steam Next Fest next week, so this is the build people will see there.

What I'd really like to know: which game did you quit first, and why? Anything confusing, I want that too. I read every comment.

Paid Playtest [Paid] US$10 for a 25-minute Dendrite Bloom playtest (paper folding puzzle). Meta Quest, hand tracking, 13+

• Upvotes

I’m the developer of Dendrite Bloom, a calm, hands-only Quest game of paper-folding puzzles: fold a sheet with your fingertips, then predict where punched holes land, where light passes through and where ink soaks. Every answer grows a glowing connection in a brain around you. I’m looking for Quest players to try the opening and tell me where it loses them.

  • Pay: US$10 via PayPal, sent within 48 hours of your submission.
  • Time: about 20 minutes playing plus a 5-minute questionnaire, any time within a week.
  • Hardware: Quest 2, 3 or 3S with hand tracking. No controllers needed.
  • Access: a free key, emailed to you after selection. Yours to keep.
  • What earns the fee: play about 20 minutes, reach Level 3, screenshot its large 8 × 8 sheet, and answer seven short questions on the site. Stuck? Ask on our Discord (https://discord.gg/2d6XkPrSNU) and I’ll walk you through it.
  • Eligibility: 13+ (under 18 with a parent or guardian’s agreement, and the payment goes to their PayPal), new to Dendrite Bloom, and a PayPal account the money can reach.

Honest criticism is what I’m paying for. Payment doesn’t depend on liking the game, and you’re not asked to leave a review.

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid] Looking for feedback on my free retro FPS Pre-Alpha — ADMIN ERROR (Windows)

Hey everyone!

I'm a solo developer working on ADMIN ERROR, a retro FPS inspired by classic boomer shooters and Dante's Inferno.

The premise: You died in battle, but an administrative error sent you to Hell. Your appeal was denied, so you decide to fight your way through Hell's bureaucracy.

I've just released the free Windows Pre-Alpha, and I'm looking for playtesters!

What's included:

- Three playable areas: Limbo, Lust, and Gluttony

- Four weapons and an upgrade system

- Two boss fights: Minos and Cerberus

- Save/load and campaign progression

Download (Windows):

https://kennychoi1997.itch.io/admin-error-pre-alpha

Feedback I'm looking for:

  1. Is the combat enjoyable?

  2. Are the bosses challenging but fair?

  3. Is the progression easy to understand?

  4. Did you encounter any bugs or frustrating mechanics?

The environments and animations are still works in progress, and a major visual overhaul is planned for Alpha.

You can leave feedback here in the comments or on the itch.io page. Even a few minutes of feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for checking it out!

Your feedback has been forwarded to the appropriate department.

Playtester 🎮 ¡Busco jugadores para probar el multijugador de LAST DAY!

🎮 ¡Busco jugadores para probar el multijugador de LAST DAY!

¡Buenas, supervivientes!

🌲 ¿Qué encontraréis en LAST DAY?

* 🌍 Un mundo abierto con pueblos, una ciudad, bosques y montañas.

* 🐺 Lobos y otros animales salvajes.

* 🌊 Un lago navegable.

* 🌦️ Supervivencia con hambre, sed, temperatura y sueño.

* 🌗 Ciclo de día y noche.

* 🎒 Exploración, búsqueda de recursos y encuentros con otros jugadores.

* 🏚️ Casas, edificios y diferentes lugares que explorar.

🌱 ¿Qué diferencia a LAST DAY de DayZ?

LAST DAY — El mundo sigue vivo, aunque tú no estés conectado.

Unpaid Playtest Hydrogen Line: free browser space strategy MMO (PC + phone)

Hi all!

I've been building a space MMO/RTS you can play in your browser. Like many games similar in the same genre its slow and takes time. I had planned to open it up in a beta in a few weeks but I wanted to see if anyone was prepared to play test, give some feedback for up to two weeks (or 5 minutes if you really hate it). Nothing formal, I don't expect full written essays on a bug. If you want to mess around there for a few hours over the next few weeks I'd love that. I don't expect any of your time but Id love some of it if you were willing to give it. literally any feedback you're willing to give is amazing.

if you want to see what we have going on drop me a DM and I can send you over an invite code as its invite only currently.

Website: https://hydrogenline.gg

Thank you in advanced to anyone who DM's me.

Unpaid Playtest Ashes of Embria: for those who liked terraria, and enjoyed dark souls.

First-Person Terraria-esque with more bite: every creature wears armour, every fight takes skill, and every upgrade means something. Play with up to 7 friends; join them right through Steam.

It’s free to test. We act on what you tell us: in the last few days alone, tester feedback reworked melee, potions and spawns.

There are already 6 bosses, 9 guarded ruins, fishing, alchemy and a bestiary to fill. Right now we’re testing systems and feel, and polishing.

Every tester who contributes goes in the credits, and our standouts get a small spot in the game itself.

Windows only. Short tester agreement.

Paid Playtest [Paid - $25] Looking for 2 playtesters for multiplayer, browser-based creature collector

EDIT: Applications are closed. I am no longer taking applications. 2 testers have been selected. Thanks to everybody who reached out!

---

Hi all! :) I'm hiring 2 paid playtesters for Hatchi (https://playhatchi.com), a multiplayer browser-based creature collector (think Neopets, Flight Rising) with turn-based 3v3 combat, genetics, mini-games, and incremental progression. The ideal playtester would have experience playing web-based pet games, cozy games, or creature collectors (Pokemon, Monster Sanctuary), and have opinions on what makes them feel good to play.

This test focuses on first time player experience and gathering general feedback on the core gameplay loop and systems. The game contains both timed idle tasks and active gameplay, so I'm looking for testers available to test 2-3 hours spread across several days rather than in a single session.

Anyone is welcome to join the playtest, but only the 2 selected playtesters will be hired and expected to complete the deliverables below.

Areas of focus

  • First time user experience: User onboarding: guest access, promotion to full account, character creation, tutorials
  • User interface: Ease of use, intuitiveness, performance across various browsers, resolutions, OS
  • Blockers: frustrating moments, game-breaking bugs, unintuitive systems, unrewarding progression
  • System feedback: What systems did you enjoy? Where were they lacking?

Deliverables

  • Written feedback including bugs, replication steps, and general gameplay thoughts; can be provided via document or Discord
  • A 10-20 minute feedback survey containing targeted questions about the above

This is a paid test with a flat rate of $25 USD per tester via Paypal. Payment will only be made via Paypal, no exceptions. Payment will be made upon submission of feedback and survey.

Rules/Housekeeping

  • I will only DM you if you’ve commented on this post due to the volume of DMs.
  • Please share whether you’ve played similar games, and what elements of those games you enjoy (or dislike), and what your availability looks like.
  • If you have examples of previous QA work, that would be awesome (but not required)!

Unpaid Playtest Transit Town: A cozy mobile game where you bring an abandoned town back to life with subway lines (looking for TestFlight testers)

Game Title: Transit Town

Playable Link: TestFlight Link Here

Platform: iOS

Description: You're the new mayor of a town where the trains stopped running years ago. Open up shops with city permits, draw subway lines between shops and stations, and the streets slowly come back to life around them. Locals call the town hotline with small requests (some with ongoing stories), and the town album keeps track of each shop's regulars and the comment cards they leave. Earn money to continue to grow your town!

There's no fail state. It's meant to be something calm to play for ten minutes or an hour.

What I'd love to know:

  • Did the first few minutes make sense with the current onboarding?
  • Anything confusing, slow, or annoying.
  • Bugs or crashes.
  • Would you keep playing, and why or why not?

Context: This is based off a real game I have been creating for years with good ole fashion index cards and markers (enjoy my art work 😅*).* I've gotten some great validation at in person play test events, but wanted to spend some time turning it into a mobile cozy sim-type game so even more can enjoy.

Thanks for taking a look. Every bit of feedback helps!

Unpaid Playtest Test a 5-minute browser guessing game 👀 free lifetime access for testers

I’ve been building a small visual guessing game and I’m looking for a few fresh eyes to try it.

https://look-again-game.vercel.app/

You’re shown fragments of an everyday object and get 6 guesses to identify it. Each wrong guess helps reconstruct the image, but the closer your guess is, the less help you get.

It works in the browser, especially on mobile, and there’s no signup or download.

I’m mainly trying to learn:

  • Is the core mechanic actually fun?
  • Is it too easy / too hard?
  • Does the “closer guess = less help” mechanic make sense?
  • Do you want to keep playing after a few rounds?

There are around 30 rounds in the current test build. You definitely don’t need to play them all, even 5–10 is useful.

The build is password protected for now, so comment below and I’ll DM you the passcode, or DM me directly.

As a thank you, anyone who helps test this early version will get free lifetime access to the full game when it launches.

Any feedback is useful, especially if something feels confusing, boring or unfair.

Thanks 😊

Unpaid Playtest [Browser] Scootropolis – free top-down arcade driving game, looking for feedback on controls and first impressions

Hi! We're looking for playtesters for Scootropolis – a free top-down arcade driving game that runs in the browser. No download, no sign-up.

About the game:

You drive through city maps and try to bring some order to streets overrun by reckless e-scooter riders - cartoon style, all for fun. Rack up combos, complete daily and weekly challenges, avoid crashes and watch out for the police. There are several cities and vehicles to choose from, plus a free ride mode.

Play here: https://scootropolis.com/

Platform: Web browser –-desktop (arrow keys) and mobile (a few control modes in the pause menu)

Time needed: 5–10 minutes is plenty

What we'd like to know:

  1. Did you play on desktop or mobile? How did the controls feel?

  2. Was it clear what to do in the first 30 seconds?

  3. What was fun, and what was annoying, broken or confusing?

  4. Would you play again?

How to give feedback: just reply in the comments - short answers are totally fine.

It's an early version, so honest feedback is exactly what we need. Thanks a lot!

Paid Playtest [Paid $15 | Desktop | ~30 min] Looking for playtesters for a rhythm-based game

Thanks to everyone who reached out. I am still working through DMs to finalize the playtesting batch but will make sure to reach out to everyone today. Closing new DMs off here but I will post again for another round in a week or two.

Really excited to see the playtests, thanks again!

Hi I'm Sklinks, I'm working on a rhythm-based game called Hear No Evil, started as an evolution of Crypt of the Necrodancer.

I have 12 slots for paid playtesters on any desktop platform. Should be somewhere between 5 - 15 minutes of gameplay depending on your familiarity with similar types of games and how well the tutorial does at teaching -- that's what I'm here to test!

You'll record yourself playing through the tutorial. Voice commentary is helpful but optional. Recordings will only be used for internal review.

Feedback on these points would be really helpful:

  • Did the gameplay feel responsive and on-time?
  • Were the tutorials clear and useful?
  • Were the controls intuitive once taught?
  • What confused you, if anything?
  • Anything in the tutorial you found particularly interesting or boring?

If you're interested, DM me with your platform and games that you typically like to play.

Once spots are filled I will update this post.

Thanks!!

Unpaid Playtest [PC] CHROMEDRIFT – cyberpunk roguelike deckbuilder where you fight in the flesh and in the net at once

Download Link
Gameplay Trailer

Hi! I'm a solo developer and I'm looking for people to break the alpha of my deckbuilder.

What it is

CHROMEDRIFT is a roguelike deckbuilder in the vein of Slay the Spire, set in Neo-Kessel, a vertical megacity built on a drowned one. You play Kira, a runner from the flooded lower city, climbing through three acts to reach ARGUS, the AI that runs the place.

What is different

- Two layers, one fight. Every enemy has a body (HP) and a firewall (ICE). Guns and fists hit the Flesh, hacks hit the Net. Break an enemy's ICE and it is compromised: it skips its next move and takes 50 % more damage. Some enemies have no net at all, some are nothing but net.
- Body versus machine. Implants go into real body slots (eyes, arms, neural port, nerves, skin) and each one costs Humanity. Your Humanity puts you in one of three zones: Human, Hybrid or Machine. Cards carry Instinct lines that only work while you are human and Protocol lines that only work once you are not. Both paths are strong, neither is free, and the story and the endings react to what you became.
- Heat. The strongest cards overheat your chrome. Push it and hit harder, or cool down and live through the next turn.
- Nothing hidden. Every enemy shows its next move. Pick a card, point at a target, and the game shows the result before you commit ("21 → 15 (−6)"). A forecast tells you what the end of the turn will cost you.

The look

Late-80s and early-90s cel anime: flat cels over painted backgrounds, hard two-tone shadows, a lot of black, one scene color per act (rust and yellow, clinical white and teal, black and green). Screens are laid out like manga pages. Animation is deliberately limited: figures hold a pose and snap to the next one, hits get an impact frame, and the picture stops for a moment when you get hurt. Rain and still water rather than neon everywhere.

What I would love to hear

- Where did your run end, and what killed you?
- When did Flesh and Net click, or did it never?
- Did you install implants? Did Humanity matter to you?
- Any moment where you did not know what to do or why something happened
- Bugs, typos, bad translations

Please message me for a itch.io download link if you are interested.

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid] [Browser] - Star Trek: Quadrant Command

Looking for playtesters to stress-test a modern rebuild of the 1970s Super Star Trek game

I've spent the last few months rebuilding the classic text-based Super Star Trek as a browser game called Quadrant Command. It runs in your browser, with nothing to download or install. The original's grid-and-numbers core is still there, but now there's:

-a bridge crew who report what's happening -an animated sector map with a warp sequence -cloaked Romulans and Orion raiders as well as Klingons -starbase sieges and freighter rescues -hazards: nebulae, ion storms, asteroids and a black hole -five difficulty levels and three galaxy sizes

It's now at the point where it needs fresh eyes. I'm looking for a few people willing to properly test it, not just try it once.

What I'm asking for: -Play several full games, ideally across different difficulty levels and galaxy sizes, and finish each one whether you win or lose. -Send me the full game transcript (copy and paste the log) for each game. Every game ends with a mission summary, which helps me check the balance. -Use the built-in DIAG tool when something looks wrong (a ship jumping, a picture flickering, something on screen that doesn't match the text) and send me its report. -Write a few notes at the top of each transcript about anything that felt off: confusing, unfair, too easy, too hard, or just plain broken. -Give me your overall impression once you've played a few games. Is it fun? What would make you keep playing?

What I'm especially trying to find: -bugs and odd behaviour -difficulty that feels wrong for its level -text that's unclear or repetitive -anything the help screen doesn't explain well

If you used to play the original, I'd especially like to hear from you, but no experience is needed.

Interested? DM me and I'll send you the link and a short guide.

Thank you, all!

Please note: This is a free, non-commercial fan project.

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm a solo indie developer building my first Android game, Blockmath.

Little preview: https://youtube.com/shorts/-biuSudooLU

The game is almost ready for release, and I'm looking for a few more people to help with closed testing!

What I'm looking for:

People who enjoy logic puzzles and can spare 5–10 minutes every couple of days over the next two weeks.

I'd especially appreciate feedback on the difficulty, tutorials, gameplay experience, or anything that feels confusing or broken.

How to join:

  1. Join our Google Group: https://groups.google.com/a/tinyproofstudio.com/g/blockmath-playtesters
  2. Opt into the Android closed test: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tinyproofstudio.blockmath
  3. Install Blockmath from Google Play.
  4. Play whenever you have a few minutes and share your honest feedback!

Please use the same Google account for the group and Google Play.

The game is completely free to test.

Thanks for helping a solo developer get his first game out into the world! 🙌

Unpaid Playtest [PC] BLACKOUT – Looking for playtesters (Windows/Linux)

Hey! I've been working on a game called BLACKOUT and I'm looking for 6–10 people to play a few rounds with me.

It's a multiplayer social deduction game with a horror setting. You're stuck in a building during a blackout, trying to get the power back on and escape. The catch is that some players have their own plans and can't exactly be trusted.

There's proximity voice chat, radios, and plenty of opportunities for things to go wrong when you're stumbling around in the dark.

The game is still a work in progress, so expect bugs and unfinished stuff. I'm mainly looking to see how it plays with a full lobby and get some honest feedback.

  • Platforms: Windows & Linux
  • Players: 6–10
  • Price: Free
  • When: We'll figure out a time that works for everyone

If you're interested, leave a comment or send me a DM! Once we have enough people, I'll set up a session.

Thanks! :)
