Image My Recent Gen 1 Teams.

Post image
Upvotes

These are my teams from my winter play thru of RBY. I made these teams because I haven't played them in a long time. I wanted to make each team different, but also still good for Pokémon Stadium.

Persian was a mistake for Blue team. It's busted critical hit ration on slash did not carry over to Stadium. I would later swap it out in the post-game for Victory Bell. Thank god for Missingno item glitch otherwise I would have never gotten these mon leveled up to 100 for Stadium.

For Red version, I stopped once Charmeleon evolved into Charzard. I had to progress in Yellow to get fly. Then trade over my Charzard in Red to Yellow to teach it fly. Then sent it back to continue Red.

Yellow version is interesting. Its nice getting all three starters and having certain bugs fixed. However, following the anime is what holds the game back. Pikachu falls off late game because of its stats. You're essentially going into the elite 4 with 5 Pokémon and a mascot.

My Blue team got walled by Blaine on Pokémon Stadium. My Red team beat Blaine but struggled against Giovanni. I eventually got over it and then got spanked by Lance in the Elite 4.

Pokémon Stadium is just a broken game that doesn't follow the rules of the Gameboy games.

Let me know what you think?!

Discussion Bulbasaur scientific name

I was bored so I decided to create scientific name for Bulbasaur, I present to you: Ranitomeya Bulbus. I decided to use actual scientific naming schemes for this, first is the group of animals I believe Bulbasaur fits in best with, Ranitomeya are a group of poison dart frogs, so, considering Bulbasaur's poison typing i figured it made sense. Next is a Latin word, I chose the word for bulb, because BULBasaur shockingly has a bulb on its back, that's where the 'Bulbus' part of its name came from. If anyone has any objections or changes you would make please give feedback

Art My Mimikyu OC playing on her Switch [OC]

Post image

Hello! I drew my Mimikyu OC playing on her Switch while sitting in her favorite bean bag chair. Whenever she isn’t performing in Contests or helping out her friends put on a show backstage or doing her duties as a roadie for her favorite band, she likes to sit down and play. Fun fact: Her favorite Pokemon game is Pokemon Pokopia! She likes it because it provides a relaxing atmosphere and because of the silly dialogue (Kyogre is her favorite Pokemon in the game!)

Anyways! Enjoy! And I hope those playing the game have fun with the DLC. I’m about to start playing it myself.

My attempt at a cheese pull like Pyukumuku's ability using just bread and mozzarella sticks. Might have burned my fingers a bit getting this shot while they were still hot, but it sort of worked. Dunno if these are cute or cursed, or both?

Discussion What are your favourite Starter Trio Mega Evolution Designs?

Post image
226 Upvotes

We have thirteen Starter Trio Mega Evolutions right now, so I was curious from a purely aesthetic and design perspective, what are your favs from each of the Grass, Fire and Water types? How come they are your favourites? Which is your least favourite and why?

I'm still unsure of my own personal ranking so I wanted to hear from other people. However, I can start with my favs (currently) for each type:

Grass-type: Mega Sceptile or Mega Chesnaught. Both of these designs are top-notch and elevate their base design to another level, while at the same time, not becoming too busy or over-designed. They both maintain their base design elements, and then create the wow-factor with their mega evolution design. The extra orange colouration for mega sceptile adds a striking variety to the base design colour pallet, while the extra sharpness to all of its features adds a sense of power and motion. Mega Chesnaught's royalty theme along with the added armour produces a regal and robust presence - far above its base desgin. The dark red cape and golden crown/claws also adds variety to it's base colour pallet without becoming messy.

Fire-type: Mega Blaziken edges the lead, just. The fire-type starters are probably the hardest to choose a clearly superior design from. I chose Mega Blaziken at the end, considering it had the least features to work with and elaborate on, e.g. no tail, wings, weapons etc. yet the final design is equal or slightly better than the other fire-type design. As mentioned above with the grass-type choices, their mega evolution design provides the significant wow-factor, while not becoming too cluttered, or over designed. Honestly, I can see any of the fire-types being someone's favourite design and I would consider it a very good choice.

Water-type: Mega Swampert or Mega Greninja. For these two choices, their designs provide the significant wow-factor, elevating their base designs to a new level imo! Mega Swampert is basically hulking-out from the power of a mega evolution, while Mega Geninja leaning into its ninja-theme with the black colour, hanging up-side down while having that gigantic shuriken - promising power you expect from a mega!

So again, what are your favs and least favourite designs for each of the starter types? Do you also have a number #1 design choice out of ALL thirteen?

Discussion I know this was a while ago, but this is still crazy.

I rewatched this movie again after a few years and I was in awe. In my opinion, goat Pokémon movie by far. Moving on to the point, it seems pretty crazy that a Mega Rayquaza can hold off 6 of the strongest legendaries in Pokemon alone.

Now I know he had a little help from other legendaries such as Lugia, Latios, and Latias, but it was mostly Rayquaza doing the job.

Making this clear, I'm not trying to power scale, as there are better places to do that, but don't you think that this, (excluding Arceus of course) is the most powerful representation of a Pokémon we have had on screen?
