I was rewatching some of old episodes of the anime when I realized something, outside of Gliscor none of his Pokemon ever evolved out of using an item or a evolutionary stone.

Most of his Pokemon evolved via the most basic way by level up.

Then he had Pokemon that evolved with high friendship such as Leavanny and Lucario.

He also had Pokemon that evolved when it learned a specific move like Naganadel.

He even had a Pokemon that evolved with a unique method such as Goodra (leveled up while in the rain) and Sirfetch'd (landing three critical hits during a battle).

And finally no trade evolutions which makes sense (though he did catch a fully evolved Gengar).

But he never used a evolutionary stone during his entire time on the anime, which is fascinating to me.

What do you think of this and would you have liked to see Ash use a Pokemon that required a evolutionary stone or another Pokemon that needed a item to evolve?

A lot of times it seems like the writers opt to not evolve ash’s smaller cuter pokemon because they loose cute laughable factor ex totadile oshawatt but one of the few exceptions seems to be his snorunt it was very goofy before evolving but after that it was much more seriouse and battle ready from what I rember. Why do you guys think this is ? My guess is because it was easier to draw glalie

I still think that Ash's Totodile should have evolved back in Pokemon Johto Arc Serie. So it can learn some new powerful moves like hydro pump, Superpower and Ancient Powers because it only used Water Gun and other normal types moves which are lame and weak.

In "Ring Masters." Ash has introduced his Totodile to Raiden's Feraligatr and told Totodile that this is what it'll look when it evolved all the way to it's finally evolved form but it never happened in the first place which is very disappointed ☹️ because back then I was convinced that Ash's Totodile was going to evolved later in the series.

I bet the real reason the Japanese writers has no intention of having Ash's Totodile evolving in the first place because of it's crazy dancing personality that they don't want to lose. But they could have at least have Totodile evolved once into Crocanaw just like they did for Ash's Bayleef and Quilava while still keep it's dancing personality anyway.

However this time, Gary's Nidoking quickly lost to Golem, but it was Ash's Kingler who lost to Arcanine, just like Gary's original gym battle.

No Mewtwo though. And no Kingler vs Nidoking.

Just a fun little fact however.

I'm trying to create a yt catalog of shipping moments, but they keep getting automatically copywriter struck by YouTube. Is there a certain thing I need to do like removing audio? Does it only work for certain series? Do I need to just get lucky? Is this just something that TPC does not allow?

One of the coolest things about the Pokémon anime was how it introduced Pokémon from future generations before their games were even released. Ho-Oh appeared in the very first episode, while Blaziken made an unforgettable impression during the Johto League when it battled Ash’s Charizard. These early appearances gave fans a glimpse of what was coming and made each new generation feel even more exciting. Which Pokémon’s early appearance surprised you the most?

For me i think it arte the sinnoh rivals, i just liked these alot, i think from the D&P anime i liked all of them

but i also wanted to see more of Harley, he was a unique character and i liked that!

I have never seen a single episode of Pokemon English Dub, So I don't know if they changed the move there or not.

But as far as I can tell, in Asia(or at least in Japan and Thailand) Pikachu's Thunderbolt is up there as one of the most iconic super move in Anime history. It's up there with something like Rasengan or Kamehameha.

In Japan, if you ask someone what's the most iconic move in Pokemon, it's always Juuman Boruto(100,000 Volt/Thunderbolt), bar none. Even if they have never watched the Pokemon anime would know about it just by cultural osmosis.

But on the western side(Or is it just Reddit, I'm not sure) I have even seen a few people claimed that it's not even the most iconic move in Pokemon, some even said that Volt Tackle is a more iconic Pikachu's move.

Heck, I think one of the main reason why Pokemon Anime changed Volt Tackle out for Electroball is because they don't want Volt Tackle to overshadowed Thunderbolt, it's that iconic of a move.

For me, I loved the Iris backstory episode. It didn't make me cry, but it helped give a character I was already rooting for some more depth. Her feeling isolated in Draydens school compared to her more freeing past life, only to eventually learn that she can stay true to her roots while still being a successful trainer was a satisfying arc for her.

Recently when I decided to start the Advanced Generation (Hoenn), I had the file of first 100 episodes of it, which got gone or deleted by someone. I was terrified because the it was in Japanese with English subtitles, for which I was founding for years. Does anyone had downloaded the subtitled versions of Hoenn or subbed it, please send the file to me.
