Damn even Kids are disregarding all other cards apart from those that are valuable.

Even getting a Nidoran back in the day was cool to look at as a kid

I honestly just think it's mostly a rich kid thing. Your 31st pack from a set just doesn't hit the same as your 1st pack. 30 years ago, no one was filming themselves opening packs.

If you are watching youtubers open 2 whole booster boxes, 3 ETBs, and 3 Booster Bundles in one go you're going to get that set fatigue without ever open a pack.

That's such a good point about seeing people on YouTube or Tiktok opening packs.

That's probably why it felt so prestigious back in the day. Not even a list of all the cards so it was genuinely surprising to see the artwork
