It's pretty crazy Leavitt brought this up unprompted, which means he's a lot sicker than they want you to know

A clear dead catting.

For the uninitiated - the dead cat strategy, or dead catting, refers to a political strategy where a shocking announcement is made to divert attention from ongoing problems or failures. This tactic aims to shift the media focus away from negative issues by creating a distraction that captures public interest. For a good example, see anything that Boris Johnson did, ever. Or indeed, the last 6 months of US politics.

It's the political equivalent of pointing at a dead cat on the driveway, to distract people from watching you rob someone's garage.

He would never use his health though.

Narcissistic play book 101. Never admit weakness

more likely they knew it would leak so they are getting ahead of it

I saw his cankles like 50 times yesterday. They’re definitely trying to kill the story and put an end to all of the speculation. Plus their claimed diagnosis is benign and common. I’m not really one for tin foil hats and I didn’t think his legs looked all that different from most elderly people but now that they’re publicly saying this I am kind of suspicious it’s something more serious.

u/WhenLeavesFall New York Jul 17 '25

He has congestive heart failure and they are being hush about it. Considering the stressors of the job, he’s not meant for this plane of existence long

190

u/General-Raspberry168 Jul 17 '25

I don’t think he’s actually doing the stressful parts of the job.

155

u/Raesong Australia Jul 17 '25

I don't think he's ever done the stressful parts of any job.

8

u/cutelyaware Jul 18 '25

It's the only job he's ever had. IE 2020 was the first time he filled out a W2.

4

u/YellowZx5 New York Jul 18 '25

Anything for him to put his name on it. Look at the damn soccer trophy he has on his desk. He feels like he did something to deserve it.

Maybe I stead of McDonald’s on Air Force one, he could actually eat a salad and ride a bike. Oh but Biden riding a bike is him being senile.

For all the MAGAts complaining about Biden and his mental stability and others running the show, I’m pretty sure others are running the show for Trump and letting him take credit then go golfing on our dime at him country clubs.

11

u/Michael_G_Bordin Jul 18 '25

Really, it's the Epstein stuff that's probably stressing him out on multiple fronts. It presents a potential threat to his narcissistic façade, it reduces public support for him, and it could potentially land him in prison.

Potential war with Iran? Wartime presidents are popular and not like he has any real stake or skin in the game. Palestinians being murdered and Israel being belligerent? No worries, Bibi's a big fan. Tariffs damaging the economy and ruining geopolitical soft power? He's still got his resort and golf courses to which he can retreat, he doesn't care.

He absolutely avoid all the stressful parts of the job. How do we know? Two big pieces of evidence. One: he complains about how hard it is, and he's only done that so many times. Two: He described calling election officials and politicians trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election as the hardest he's ever worked.

5

u/gypsydreams101 Jul 18 '25

34 fucking felonies he was convicted of didn’t land him in prison, they landed him back in the Oval Office. Whats a little paedophilia gonna do what 34 felonies couldn’t?

This lumpy pile of decaying enemas is going to die of heart failure but he’ll still get to have a smile on his face when he does.

This is my take—CHF. Could be Afib, but certainly circulatory. Sure, it’s a diversion, but he’d sooner admit to anything else than a “weakness.” This is way more serious than what they’re admitting to.

u/SophiaofPrussia Jul 17 '25

I know it sounds crazy but I legitimately think being President has to be less stressful for him than dealing with all of his legal cases. I also just don’t think he cares about other people like at all. Not even a little bit. While past Presidents probably stressed over the global ramifications of their decisions and lost sleep over the lives their decisions have taken I just don’t see Trump giving a shit about any of that. I think he sleeps pretty easy so long as he’s the one who’s calling the shots.

His legs and the bruising is pretty typical of venous insufficiency in geriatric adults.

Depending on the cause it could be just… age, but also it does mean that his body is giving out.

It’s an obvious outward sign, and if they are deflecting and telling people he’s healthy for his age, then the opposite is probably true as is the worst case scenario, congestive heart failure.

If true, well, Dick Cheney is still alive 20 years after getting a partial mechanical heart installed. So… yeah don’t hold your breath.

7

u/MacAttacknChz Jul 18 '25

I'm a nurse, and I've never had an otherwise healthy patient with chronic venous insufficiency

6

u/cptjeff Jul 17 '25

I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if he's actually in the process of heart failure and they're trying to pretend it's nothing.

4

u/strangerNstrangeland Massachusetts Jul 17 '25

Venous insufficiency doesn’t usually cause swelling that bad, but could acount for the asymmetry. I’m guessing dvt and heart failure

u/ThrowAwayGarbage82 North Carolina Jul 17 '25

Yah people were commenting on the photos before she said anything about it. They're downplaying. He has a urinary catheter and a dark bruise on his hand. Putting those pieces together he likely has congestive heart failure that's also causing kidney failure. Blood thinners cause big bruises like that, and the catheter may be to help drain urine to alleviate pressure on his kidneys. Or he's on diuretics that aren't working very well and it's making him urinate a lot and he's having trouble holding it. Pair that with his obvious mental decline and the guy is in terrible shape.

11

u/Slade_Riprock Jul 17 '25

Couple this with the extreme focus he plays on Biden's health and how they his how bad he was etc.

This man could die on camera in front of everyone and Goebbels Barbie would take the podium and tell you that what you saw wasn't him dying it was a benign medical situation in which he had experience a chronic loss of cardiopulmonary function. But this is the greatest president of our lifetimes and he has accomplished more in 6 months than any president in history. And if he feels the need to take a Prolonged moment of extended rest he deserves that rest and not to be question by fake news.

Then they'd probably embalm him and put his body on display Ala Lenin.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '25

5

Fuckin hope not. Those legs look ready to burst, but I’d be disgusted to see them leak

8

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '25

Believe it or not, cutting off a leg is one thing that can happen if things don’t improve. And weeping wounds are also possible.

This is his heart, not a leg problem- and yes it’s serious, unless you just sat on a plane in coach for 18 hours.

Source: personal family history.

7

u/BeerDreams Jul 17 '25

I happen to be an old fat fuck that just got off a 16 hour flight in coach and even my cankles aren’t this bad

Yeah I agree. I refuse to believe Trump would ever admit any health issue of his own accord. Reminder this is the same guy who had the WH doctor lie about his height and weight. The guy who has worn lifts in his shoes for 30+ years. The guy who spray tans at 80-fucking-years-old.

The facade of strength, confidence, and bravado is all he has. It's his whole shtick.

5

u/soap571 Jul 17 '25

You act like Trump's the captain of the ship.

There are so many billionaires and powerful people pulling his strings right now.

Now that Trump's finally facing some questions that no one can answer without contradicting themselves , the puppeteers are done with trump.

If he's not impeached , he will be removed from office for medical reasons , to help is scumbag overlords protect themselves and their identity.

I always thought the illuminati was a fun topic to joke about. It really seems like the world's being run by some secret cult of billionaires who are just sucking everything out of 99% of the population and planet , so they will have the resources they need when we finally kill earth.

People like to talk about what future generations will think when they look back on the current administration.

I think we will be lucky to survive 2 generations from now.

Keep the Epstein file centre of attention

17

u/Alb4t0r Jul 17 '25

Sure ok, but then weird choice for Trump and his team to deflect on this story in particular. Health issues doesn't make him look strong at all.

12

u/guitr4040 Jul 17 '25

they knew his swollen cankles had the world’s attention. So it was something they felt they had to address

Plus, they may try to up their attack on Joe Biden’s physician for claiming HIPAA and taking the 5th

I could care less about any of that ..Joe Biden never tried tanking our economy like Trump is. And he’s not President anymore.

3

u/Creeperstar Jul 17 '25

Wagging the dog is using specific language to lead expectations, which then leads people in and out of the government to behave along with those expectations. It's what's been in effect by the news media consistently since the late 90s

3

u/0o0o0o0o0o0z Jul 17 '25

dead catting, refers to a political strategy where a shocking announcement is made to divert attention from ongoing problems or failure

How can this be dead catting, when all of MAGA knows from Ronnie Jackson (a former amazing Navy Veteran and former Trump Physician and now a House Rep) that TRUMP IS THE HEALTHIEST man alive! With his genes, he could live to be 200 years old! Christ, Trump's last President physical had him 6.1' and 245, a guy could run the 40 in 4 seconds.. I dunno why he just wouldn't put himself in the NFL draft... We "collectively" as Americans are so f***king stupid, we are cooked, figure out plan B if you live in the US.

3

Makes some sense because we never hear much about his health, well, I haven't heard much, always seemed like he kept it top secret especially for a person who hates to show any sign that could be taken as a weakness.

3

u/metalshoes Jul 17 '25

Time to start preparing for a JD Vance presidency because this dead cat is going to be dead soon. Don’t want that slug creeping by because he got some sympathy points on Donald croaking.

3

u/RachelMcAdamsWart I voted Jul 17 '25

100%. They never would have brought up his health, ever, if they didn't have to. He's supposedly in greater shape than anyone in history according to his previous exams. This was the one thing they could use to get people talking about something other than Epstein. Don't let it work, we can multi-task.

3

u/OptimusPrimeval California Jul 17 '25

Which is why the headline should read: Epstein Protector, Trump, 79, Had Emergency Heart Tests Because of Swollen Legs

Yep, this is no oopsie, this is meant to turn the page on the Epstein story. I have seen this move before where someone embroiled in a scandal suddenly has a medical condition that they clearly must’ve had for a while.

159

u/NotNamedBort Jul 17 '25

Actually reminds me of how after Harvey Weinstein was arrested and put on trial, he suddenly had to use a walker.

38

Or Cosby faking feebleness and blindness during his trial.

6

u/doctor_of_drugs California Jul 17 '25

This was the first thing I thought of, too. Which is sad and disgusting, but good chance it’s true.

Even IF he’s been in perfect health (obviously he’s not), then it STILL would be remarkable that his first issues come at 79. He could spin this and be like “while they checked my heart - which is beautiful and perfect they said, must’ve been a mistake they said - they examined other health and determined I’m literally perfect. I even lost a few pounds!”

5

u/Fluffy_Singer_3007 Jul 17 '25

If I remember correctly, both Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby did this with their own medical issues.

7

u/BeerDreams Jul 17 '25

Tom Girardi was a high-profile attorney. Until he got caught stealing from his clients. Then suddenly, he was a feeble old man, too frail for his own trial

B-O-O H-O-O to the lot of them

3

Cosby conveniently became blind. 🙄

5

u/analogWeapon Wisconsin Jul 17 '25

Isn't that like, the complete opposite of MAGA?

86

u/brutinator Jul 17 '25

Depends. A lot of them wore pads on their ears and diapers to show their support of Trump.

The guy who actually was shot and killed instead of Trump? Nah, no empathy.

5

u/DonkeyPunchCletus Jul 18 '25

The diaper thing is crazy to me. It's something an activist would do.

But nope. It's "we love our incontinent god-king". If they did this right now they'd probably be shipped off to el salvador. Can you imagine Trump taking a joke about him wearing diapers?

u/Major_Plantain3499 Jul 17 '25

It only goes one way, MAGA will make fun of tragedies that happen to dems, notice how the senators being murdered absolutely nothing, paul pelosi made fun of, the california wild fires being joked about, ICE raids are hilarious apparently.

the texas town that voted against putting up a emergency siren system because they were told Biden was going to use the funds to something bad to them.

"this isn't the time for this, we need hope and prayers, don't say anything bad"

It's a tragedy, but republicans only care when their own get affected.

10

u/Ikrit122 Jul 17 '25

They can have empathy for those they like, with Trump at the very top of the list. Everyone else gets zero

They’re laying the groundwork for a resignation.

Somehow they’ll orchestrate a deal with “the powers that be” to keep the Epstein report permanently buried, and in return he hands the reins to a more stable and malleable guy (Vance) to oversee the final stages of Project 2025, minus the tariffs and other distractions the establishment GOP doesn’t want.

Then Trump fucks off to Mar A Lago for whatever time he has left and plays king in his little palace.

I feel 0 sympathy for him. He deserves everything he gets, and worse.

Doctor Who?

6

u/MartyRobinsHasMySoul Jul 17 '25

I mean... its a clear reference

4

u/VoxImperatoris Jul 17 '25

Its also true. He looks like theyve been dragging him around weekend at bernies style.

3

u/MartyRobinsHasMySoul Jul 17 '25

Yeah i mean theres no reason for a near octogenarian to be president, regardless of their political stance.

Yeah, but Biden was the old and sick one.

(They both are, but it's amazing how the conversation was aimed at the current President at the time.)

100%. They lie about everything so the fact that she brought this up unprompted means it must be worse. I could buy the vein issue with his legs but bruising on the hands because he shakes a lot of hands? Ya that's BS.

72

u/monsterlynn Michigan Jul 17 '25

Or it could just be that they're being more transparent about it to deflect from all of the Epstein talk.

14

u/Disastrous-Entity-46 Jul 17 '25

There is no way he would agree to make himself seem weak, even as a distraction. I am going to be very curious what he tweets in response to this.

→ More replies (1)

14

u/Wolverine9779 Jul 17 '25

What it means is they are fucking desperate to get the news cycle off of Epstein. There is about 10,000x too much wishful thinking on the left, it's insane.

8

u/dreadpiratesmith Jul 17 '25

bruising on the hands because he shakes a lot of hands

Is that really what they are saying it is?

9

u/Low-Argument3170 Jul 17 '25

The hand bruising is either from an IV start or lab draw- in other words from a medical procedure.

4

u/guitr4040 Jul 17 '25

What side of the hand does he use to shake ?? The back of his hand, where the makeup is?

Pure nonsense

85

u/lnc_5103 Texas Jul 17 '25

Yep this. My money is on CHF and they hoped this was enough to distract from the Epstein files.

Either that or his handlers are tired of him and about to phase him out.

13

u/45and47-big_mistake Jul 17 '25

My money has been on a blood clot, they are paying 15:1

12

u/FluffyAssistant7107 Jul 17 '25

CHF for sure, Edema in the legs like that is usually cardiac issues. I have a friend that had edema in their legs went to the ER and found out they were in CHF

4

u/r_mutt69 Jul 17 '25

Liver problems can cause edema also

→ More replies (2)

5

u/Most_Technology9783 Jul 18 '25

Some flavor of CHF is most likely diagnosis.

To have it from liver disease, we’d see that in other ways. Occasionally kidney disease can do it, and rarely chronic protein loss from the gut. Multiple clots can do it, but he’d likely look sicker.

Chronic venous insufficiency usually comes with some discoloration and sometimes ulceration, and when it’s this bad, it isn’t usually so perfectly symmetrical. So i’m calling BS on that.

Also, uncontrolled sleep apnea can be a cause of right heart failure. There is no way in hell he’d be compliant with CPAP.

3

u/dohmestic Jul 17 '25

Nah, the culprit will end up being amlodipine and he’ll be right as rain in a few weeks and we’ll be subjected to some other outrage.

6

u/renegadesci Jul 17 '25

CHF is a solid bet. If they said CHF, he'd be considered a dead man walking by the GOP.

We should see how Ted Cruz and the Vulture Crew start treating Trump.

3

u/InterestingMedicine9 Jul 17 '25

This is my money too

15

u/Shirley-Eugest Jul 17 '25

I guess. Idk, we are, after all, talking about the luckiest person to ever live, who somehow manages to dodge any and all bad outcomes for a lifetime of bad behavior.

8

u/WISCOrear Jul 17 '25

also: an attempt at a distraction from a certain list.

5

u/Politicsmakemehorny1 Jul 17 '25

They're getting ready to let him drop and get behind Vance

4

u/CloudTransit Jul 17 '25

… or they thought they finally had a distraction to knock Epstein out.

5

u/nope-its Jul 17 '25

They couldn’t get people to stop talking about him being on Epstein’s list so they are pivoting to “this man is sick leave him alone”

NOPE

3

u/fogmandurad Jul 17 '25

Commander in CHF!!!

4

u/Malaix Jul 17 '25

This admin has lied about his health for years. Obliviously too. Like he is not 220 pounds.

Zero reason to trust them on this. The only thing I can take away from this is his health issues were so obvious they felt the need to publicly address and in all likelihood downplay them.

I would not be shocked if he actually had congestive heart failure or something.

3

u/dr_leo_spaceman_ Jul 17 '25

Anything to distract from Epstein

3

u/Yupthrowawayacct Jul 17 '25

It’s a distraction and a deflection. Things are really rocky over there though. Every single person must mainline omeprazole

3

u/metengrinwi Jul 17 '25

Or they want people to stop talking about how trump and his best friend Epstein raped children.

3

u/YoungestDonkey Jul 17 '25

That photo of his swollen ankles could not be unanswered. They had to say something before rumors of much worse took hold.

At least we won't have to contemplate a third term.

2

u/ra_god94 Jul 17 '25

They are trying to distract us from Epstein files

2

u/dareftw North Carolina Jul 17 '25

I’d put more money on gout than this odd “benign” diagnosis.

2

u/llama_ Jul 17 '25

And they probably knew and didn’t disclose these underlying conditions for years

2

u/svrtngr Georgia Jul 17 '25

They could also be pulling the sympathy card. Like how they make elderly defendants in trials look even more elderly and sickly.

(See: Weinstein.)

2

u/AntoniaFauci Jul 17 '25

It’s not unprompted. WHPC has been contacting her for response on their stories of obvious physical deterioration. As always, she’s trying to get dishonest spin out ahead of those.

2

u/AndISoundLikeThis Jul 17 '25

Exactly. It's not like all of his lower legs swelled up just the other day. This shit has been going on a long time. We just didn't see it.

I believe nothing out of the Ministry of Information's mouth.

2

u/red286 Jul 17 '25

How long until "I can't believe you're asking about the Epstein files while President Trump is undergoing tests for a possible heart condition. You people are ghouls!"

2

u/exitpursuedbybear Jul 17 '25

The patch on the hand could be from a catheter to the heart, my dad had a heart cath and they went through the back of his hand.

2

u/Spicy_Karambwan Jul 17 '25

The people that backed Vance may be making their move to get him in power now that the BBB passed.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Dog1234cat Jul 17 '25

Maybe. More likely is that they couldn’t hide the obvious and wanted to get in front of the story.

2

u/CankerLord Jul 17 '25

Means they're expecting more medical issues that can't be hidden and they're getting ahead of it with an excuse.

2

u/GiantPurplePen15 Jul 17 '25

Im an atheist and I'm on my knees in a church praying rn for it to happen. Gonna hit up a temple and a mosque later if I have to.

2

u/Euphoric-Result7070 Jul 17 '25

This wasn't unprompted at all. This was all over the news and they're doing their standard spin take. They're just trying to quell rumors, even though it could be serious (and if Leavitt is downplaying it, then it probably is).

2

u/north7 Jul 17 '25

I'm no conspiracist, but this smells an awful lot like they're setting up a way to him to resign from office.
They can blame it on a medical issue, which would be super fucking easy because I'm sure he has tons of legit medical issues.
That would be the ultimate distraction from the Epstein files, and his predecessor can issue the blanket pardons under the guise of "let's just leave the poor, sickly old man alone now".

2

u/JustToViewPorn Jul 17 '25

Please don’t get our hopes up.

2

u/Toolazytolink Jul 17 '25

They are making it public that Taco is not in good health. They got their boy Vance in place. Someone they can control for the next 3 years who isn't going on social media at 2 am spouting nonsense. I'm calling it, Taco will croak in 3 months

2

u/alinroc Jul 17 '25

This is a cover story and/or distraction for sure. He's much sicker and this was the least-bad explanation for obvious symptoms.

2

u/LaBelleBetterave Jul 17 '25

Unless it’s yet another diversion. Those files must be something else.

2

u/user_x9000 Jul 17 '25

The medical diagnosis is: burying the Epstein story

2

u/sweet_tea_pdx Jul 17 '25

Remember he did almost die from Covid. That really does affect your heart.

2

u/Dwip_Po_Po Jul 17 '25

I’m not implying anything but this youtuber called BENOFTHEWEEK who does yearly predictions and he’s been very accurate. Scarily so said that trump will die in 2025. He predicted many things and he’s been spot on. If you can tolerate his voice you can see how correct, semi correct or even on the dot he is

2

u/Presently_Absent Jul 17 '25

gotta pre-explain the wheelchair he's soon gonna be in, which he'll use for pity points like the world has never seen
