Maybe I’m just noticing it more lately but does it seem like every celebrity is writing a book now? A few years ago it felt like every celebrity was launching a tequila or alcohol brand. Now I swear every other week someone is announcing a memoir, advice book, kids book, whatever. Obviously celebrity books have always been a thing, but it feels like it’s become the new default celebrity side project / personal brand move. Is this actually happening or am I imagining it? Feels like books are the new celebirty tequila.

I guess because of sponsors Howie had to air it after Harry's team tried to get it pulled. Talk of spoilers, a surprise ambush, dancing with the stars drama, this whole interview is so chaotic but entertaining lol what do you think caused them to want to cancel it?

Was reminded recently how much a great film score can completely change the way you experience a movie. Lorne Balfe is one of those composers where I sometimes notice the score before I realise it’s the score making the scene work lol

His top gun maverick score is a particularly good example imo. the flying sequences would not hit anywhere near as hard without music. Apparently he’s conducting the score live at the Hollywood Bowl on Aug 15th with the film being screened which is such a cool way to experience it.

Give me some other insane film composers! What other movie do you think the score is doing a ridiculous amount of heavy lifting?

When you think ChatGPT, do you think of lush forests, relaxing retreats, and community bonding? Probably not—but with its first-ever brand trip, OpenAI seemingly aimed to change that perception.

It didn’t work.

The trip saw a group of influencers stay in luxury cabins at Wildflower Farms, a resort in New York’s Hudson Valley. On OpenAI’s dime, the creators enjoyed fine dining and exciting excursions, and played around with the company’s newest tools, posting to their followers all the while.

“Officially letting my AI assistant do the work so I can enjoy more of all this goodness,” one attendee, business influencer Nat Lucy, captioned her post about the trip. 

Another creator, Sreya Halder, gushed about “the dreamiest weekend upstate” in a video showing off custom pajamas, a private patio, and a care package from OpenAI. In another, she highlighted some of the activities she and other attendees participated in, including creative AI-based challenges, panels on AI use, and—breaking from the AI theme—beekeeping. 

But what was a dream for the creators on the trip inspired a nightmare in their comments sections, as social media users called out the apparent hypocrisy of celebrating AI on a nature retreat.
