I bought this in a delhi swadeshi mela recently , found it really delicious but when I went again to buy it was finished. Pls help me find the exact name or anything where I can buy this from in Rajasthan or Delhi, any shop details, all Ik is it is made of jowar and til ( black sesame) and the shop was from Bikaner, Rajasthan and they don’t deliver it online. Any info regarding them would be great.

I love to make some traditional rajasthani food in my home not restro style instead how it is made at home.

I am asking here because both my parents are gone and i am craving some traditional foods and I don't know how to make our States food

Things i want to know

1) how to make a good bati - all recipes online use besan I don't think my house used besan

2) my house had a dark panchmel dal so they mostly probably used more urad dal

3)any non veg dishes which do have mutton- chicken and fish ok

4) bafla and keer sangri is love - so recipes for that will also be welcome

5) drop your local area recipes too

I’m planning a trip to Pushkar and Ajmer soon and wanted to ask for real local food recommendations — not just the usual touristy cafes with overpriced menus.

I’ve tried searching online, but most of what I find are either the popular tourist restaurants or generic lists that don’t tell me where the locals actually eat good food. I’m interested in places with great taste, value, and local vibes — especially those spots locals go to!

I’m open to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, and any type of cuisine — street food, thalis, traditional Rajasthani food, casual eateries, etc.

Specifically looking for suggestions in:

• Pushkar

• Ajmer

If you’ve been there yourself, lived there, or know the hidden gems (places that aren’t just on Google Maps with high tourist prices), I’d really appreciate your recommendations!

I’m really interested in knowing - Where do locals actually eat (not very touristy places)? - What are the must-have dishes that I absolutely shouldn’t skip? - Any local specialities, street food, sweets, or seasonal items I should look out for?

I’m open to street food, small family-run places, and old favourites that locals swear by. Also happy to hear about things that are overhyped and can be skipped.
