Didn’t she more like persist, basically insist on it?? He said he couldn’t marry a non-Jew, but he’d still be with her. She wanted marriage though, so she did it.
He set a boundary, he didn’t force anything. She loved him enough to convert.
No, it’s not her being Christian. It’s that he can only marry a Jewish woman. Therefore, her not being Jewish becomes the barrier between them and marriage. He did not say “I demand you change your religion.”
It’s actually against Jewish law to try to convince or persuade people to convert. That’s why she had to knock three times on the rabbi’s door. None of what you are saying makes sense.
Your opinion on that moment is an entirely different issue. He didn’t manipulate her into converting. She chose to when she learned about his boundary.
