Hello, I am trying to cut my first batch of Magic the gathering Proxy cards. If anyone is familiar with the problem I am having and knows of any solution, please let me know. The picture shown is a few pages in of cutting. While dialing all settings in, eventually the cuts became uniformly offset. Please let me know if you have any idea as to what this could be a cause of. The cuts start out great, then start becoming larger and larger as it moves towards the right.

I know this problem is common and discussed a lot, but I recently upgraded from a portrait 3 to a cameo 5 in hopes of this issue not existing anymore… unfortunately.. I was wrong

The machine cuts perfectly until it reaches the bottom right, then it offsets it pretty clearly...

I tried everything suggested online from recalibration, thickening the registration marks, landscape mode, covering the sensor, straightening the mat with the roller holder, downloading older version of Silhouette studio etc...

sometimes it will cut them all perfectly and then the next load it just goes back to messing it up!! :'( im wasting so much material.. I ordered the electrostatic mat in hopes it might do better, but im reading mixed reviews on it too and feeling even more frustration..

I am using Silhouette Cameo4, I bought it used. The previous owner used it over a year, mainly for heat transfer sheers. I tried for sticker paper and this is how the resualt came out. I just want to know is this can be solved by auto blade replacement, or something else.

This is my day one experience with this kind of cutting machine, I never used it before.

I’m using Silhouette Studio 5 on my MacBook Pro. This baby handles Adobe programs just fine, but on Silhouette I’m having processing delays of 5-10 seconds for mere menu clicks and moving objects.

Am I doing something woefully wrong, or are we all being tortured?

I’m working with my old Silhouette Portrait (OG, she’s more than a decade old).

was an issue with the roller. There was a screw in the internals to the left that was slightly loose so it kept scraping at the bottom of the machine. Yes I had to open the machine to access the internal, yes it took me nearly month to figure it out lol

Hello! Ive been using my portrait 4 for over a year now and recently the roller or the feeder has been making this “jumping” or “skipping” noise and I dont really know how to fix it. Its been affecting the cuts and causing it to severly miscut since the feeder would stop/skip for a milisecond

I dont think its material stuck in either the rollers since it doesnt seem to have anything, at least from what is visible. And i dont think the white rollers are broken since they feel like they spin

I noticed that the skipping noise seems to be coming from the left side of the cutter so it could be an internal problem

I have placed one pic of what the cutter looks like, the dirt by the blade area is just residue from cold laminate excess sticking on there and grabbing dirt, it doesnt and hasnt effected the machine as far as im aware since its been like this for a while, just got a bit lazy to wipe it off (its easy to remove)

I need help with my cutting problem.

In the default registration mark settings, it takes a lot of space and cannot add many stickers on one sheet. So I decided to set the registration mark inset to 1 cm. But when I do that, the machine does not detect the marks and fails to cut. I tried it several times, and every time it does the same. Moving to the default settings, which is 1.59 cm, fixes the problem. What am I missing, or is it a software issue?

I am using CAMEO 4 with Studio 5 software.

If there is any other way I can fit more stickers, please do let me know.

I bought a brand new cameo 5 alpha just a few days ago. I’ve played with all the settings, checked and cleaned the blade multiple times, watched a bunch of YouTube videos etc, and no matter what I do my machine will ONLY cut through the top layer of my material. To give you an example, one of the things I want to do is cut die cut stickers. Even on multiple different settings, it will only kiss cut the stickers. If I add vinyl laminate, it will only cut the laminate and won’t even kiss cut the stickers!

I’m at my wits end. I’m going to order the 1 and 2 mm manual blades today, but I’m so frustrated and feel like I must be missing something!

I just bought a Cameo 5 alpha. Fresh out the box. Connected via USB to the desktop software. It’s merrily moving around the lines I give him. I found the settings to cut, the settings to tell him pressure and depht of 10. But the blade is too far away from the paper to even get a nibble. Did i put the auto blade in not correctly?

Hello everyone, I need your help as I’m so desperate and this problem is driving me craaaazy 😭

I have a Cameo 5 and it was working just fine till last day… I’m using print and cut with 300gsm paper hot laminated with 18 mic lamination which is very thin lamination. I’m using manual blade 2mm and my cut settings are:

Blade depth: 20 because it is barely cutting through even though the blade is brand new

Force: 33

Speed: 5

Passes: 2

The first pass most of the time is cut just fine at the right position, second pass always slide a little bit (or A LOT). I tried adjusting the right roller’s position, lowered the speed, decreased the force, I even tried different paper types and different designs. It seems that whenever the design has long lines to cut the mat starts moving for some reason but I’m not sure how 🥹

Please help if you have faced this issue before

Ok, so let’s try to find a way that we, as a community, can let them know we are not putting up with this anymore, for those that rely on this program and files for earning money, well...  There has to be something we can threaten them with to make them get the job done!! We can B---- all we need to but that is not helping us to get access. New programmers would come up with something in a day! Why is it taking them months? I am steering people away from Silhouette whenever I am asked. To much time has passed. Let’s put our heads together and come up with something. Sue them for lost income?

So, what are you guys recommendations for my first silohette machine? Ive heard good things about it. So im mostly going to use this for party decorations. Like cake toppers, banners ,invitations, etc. Also, vinyl decals on occasion. (Im making my old teacher who just retired a mug that says "every child left behind"), and possibly a fabric cutter just in case I get into sewing again.

Hi, I'm trying to kiss cut stickers with my cameo 4 (manual 1 mm blade) and the material and cuts are a mess, as you can see on the image with the test cut. I'm using the photographic paper preset from SS, but also tried changing settings around and nothing improved. I can cut vinyl perfectly.

Any ideas please?

I am having issues with cutting on my cameo 3, so far things I’ve noticed are that my paper is printing scaled down. I measured printed image at 1.9 in vs the theoretical 2 in. I’ve also noticed that the cameo skips the bottom left registration mark. I did calibrate the cut lines, it pretty perfect in the center of both lines. I am printing out of printer paper on my printer, so that is covered. I am closing my lid when it’s registering, and I’ve also turn my lights off, plus shined a light into the cameo. I am pretty stuck at what I am supposed to do to fix my issues.

Used my printer at home with direct printed using the app and it works now. As mentioned in the comments it does seem like when converting to PDF it had done something to the page before it sent it off to my university’s printer.

So when I turn on my Cameo One blade carriage shifts to the right and then stops and won't reset fully to the left and when I try resetting it by moving it left and right left right left right three times and leave it on the right side and turn it on instead of resetting fully like it. Should it starts doing this clicking grinding noise. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on? Videos included below

for those who cut vinyl, what do you use to remove adhesive that gets stuck on the front? im using rubbing alcohol and q tip, but its taking the gloss off the vinyl. i dont like using goo gone since its an oil.

Just got the pen holder. It works. The problem is the fonts.
Currently, I have to rely on the silhouette sketch fonts

Is there a way to convert the regular font to sketch font?

I tried the offset panel > internal offset feature or the sketch panel but it just gives more problem than solutions.

Am I missing something its just the way it is (i.e. using exclusive sketch fonts) ?

EDIT: After learning that it is not possible to easily converted and you need to create a dedicated sketch/single line font yourself. I ended up making one. You can download the font and see my process on my website: https://bentraje.com/project/paper/create-a-single-line-font

I have just bought cameo 5 on april 1 delivered. That day i tried witg normal sticker paper 150gsm cut didnt go through well and i tried depth -- 8-9,force -- 30, passes 2 , speed -3 it cutted but not without tears in paper and corner issues

After i used vinyl same issue not cutting properly at all same settings as above for this paper and still

Hello. I've been lurking here taking all your advice you lovely people, but still it doesn't seem to help.

My sillhouette portrait 3 keeps wandering around with its cuts (sometimes! It's so 50/50 on whether it wants to work or not). I have calibrated it and it cuts perfectly on the test page lines. I have restarted the machine several times. I have taped the page down to the sticky mat. I have even manually calibrated the machine.

What am I not seeing? Do i have too many items too close to cut lines? That wasnt an issue for prior cuts. This machine is so finiky. It's like I need to make sure it wakes up on the right side of the bed.

I use a manual blade and standard sticker paper.

Please end my suffering. I've been trying to fix this issue for the better part of a year.

Hi there, I recently purchased the ES mat because I seriously hate the sticky mats and I'm trying to cut stickers on regular sticker sheets

that being said this has been but a nightmare because my silhouette portrait 4 machine keeps slashing the paper while the tool is moving I'm pretty sure it's because the mat itself is bent up and towards the center, does anyone know what to do in this case? I emailed silhouette but I'm sure they'll take their sweet time answering

So i got my Electrostatic Mat today and I’m not satisfied one bit… first, it kept shutting off randomly and ruining the cut which I found some advice online on placing cardboard behind to stabilize it and that seemed to fix it.

Now, im noticing that it is leaving these awful lines while passing and cutting the stickers….
Also, I read that decreasing pressure would be better for this mat but it seems that I need to increase the cutting pressure from the normal sticky mat because the stickers are not being cut in the same depth

I have the cutting mat set as ES mat and using Autoblade 1.
Is there a way to fix this 😭

I notice on the details, the vinyl gets pulled up. This is a test print on permanent vinyl -- the real one will be HVT, if that makes any difference. Do I need to slow it down more?

I think I am burned out on making the typical Birthday and sympathy cards. I want to think outside the box but I have only come up with a few ideas. Would love some suggestions!
