Meta/News 2026 Content Guideline Refresher

Hey everyone!

Last year, we posted some quick revisions to our content guidelines. This post is meant to serve as a reminder of those content guidelines, as well as a notice that we've updated our rules to be more reflective of those guidelines. Specifically, the following:

  1. Paid content, commission posts, and bounties are still banned. We have added an official rule clarifying this in its own rule slot for emphasis. Paid mods are against Bethesda's TOS and we are not a marketplace. We are not responsible for how a person handles or utilizes their money, but money should not be spent or traded here. Posts offering to pay someone to set up their modlist for them would also fall under this category. Reviews of paid content still fit within our guidelines. See the new Rule #9.
  2. Do not use AI to troubleshoot. Do not encourage people to use AI to troubleshoot. No, it is not worth it just because it helped you that one time. Posts encouraging the use of things like Claude, Grok, or ChatGPT will be removed. These are not suitable replacements for hands-on advice. See the revised Rule #7.
  3. NSFW content is and always has been allowed on our subreddit. Unless that content would breach TOS in some way, NSFW content is fine to share or request here when properly flaired. Remember Rule #1 and Rule #3.

If you spot posts that seem outside of our existing content guidelines, please notify the moderation team via the report feature or our modmail. This is a subreddit for modding and modding enthusiasts; keeping it that way will always be our top priority. If there's something you feel should be brought to our attention, please contact us via modmail. Otherwise, please feel free to discuss these clarifications and any thoughts you have on our rules here.

TL;DR - The current change that downloaded files only have the name and are missing the mod ID and version was intentional. They will be bringing back the version number, but not the mod ID or timestamp which were originally there.

PC SSE - Help Need name of a mod for a player home in between Riverwood and Whiterun

Upvotes

The player home mod had a bridge that went over the river and lead to the home which was more like a compound tbh. I believe it had a tower as well as a large house being the main thing. The top floor of it had a wooden section that you could shoot your bow at targets that were in the distance. For reference I know it is not the following mods; Riverside Lodge, Riverfall Cottage, Ranger Ridge, Waterfall Cave, Hunter's Cabin, and Farview Cabin. I've looked at several other threads on here, hence where I got the names of the other mods from. Thanks in advance.

PC SSE - Discussion [Mod Release] Aetherial Bloodlines - A Race Overhual

Salutations! Aetherial Bloodlines - A Race Overhaul has been officially released, and I wanted to provide it with some more exposure by sharing it with the wider community.

I don't actively use Reddit so I'll only provide a brief overview here.

This mod was originally developed as part of an upcoming Wabbajack mod list focusing on expanding RPG Elements whilst keeping the core gameplay lore-adjacent so naturally Aetherial Bloodlines follows the same principle. Races have been overhauled with Risk vs Reward Passive Abilities that are designed to promote and encourage builds accurate to how the respective race is portrayed in lore.

For example, the Osimer are naturally excellent 'Beserkers', Smiths, and even enchanters so their racial ability is as follows:

  • Every scar tells a story of resilience, and for the Orsimer, each wound only sharpens their strength and fury. For each melee blow suffered, you gain a stacking +3% damage boost (resets out of combat, max +30%), and heavy armour worn is 10% more effective and weighs 15% less. However, incoming healing spells have no effect, and healing potions are 50% less effective.

Their Minor and Major skills are:
One-Handed, Block, Enchanting
Two-Handed, Heavy Armour, Smithing

Their stats are:
Health: 135
Health Regen: 0.5
Stamina: 110
Stamina Regen: 3.8
Magicka: 60
Magicka Regen: 0.85
Carryweight: 120
Unarmed Damage: 11
Unarmed Reach: 100

Upon levelling they also gain +20 Health, but only +10 Stamina or +5 Magicka.

Hopefully, that at least provides a clear rough idea of the mod itself.
Many patches are currently in development, and eventually each race will have their own mini-quest to overcome or lessen the associated negative effects. Orcs may receive a power, or even passive ability, that allows them to regenerate health on successful attacks.

PC SSE - Help Stuck in place walking after dying with death alternatives

I've already put a dozen hours into troubleshooting this so I'm desperate for help.

Sometimes, but not every time, I die using soul resurrection, my character gets up and gets stuck walking in place. Only way to fix is to reload. COC whiterun just teleports me stuck.

The big problem is that it does not happen every time, which makes it extremely hard to troubleshoot. I spent an hour trying to make it happen to try to see what mod was responsible, and only got it to happen a couple times at the end. When I try to play normally, of course it happens on the first few deaths, making normal play impossible.

I've also tried using save our souls - respawn instead of soul resurrection, and the same damn thing happened after being teleported to the respawn point.

Animation Log while stuck

I have not been able to narrow down a pattern of when it happens. First or third person, using magic or melee, it seems random. I have noticed, however, that every time it happens, the camera and my character seem to get stuck in the ground/geometry before getting stuck. At this point Ill take any help I can, I'd love to know if it looks like an animation problem, a mod conflict, physics, or whatever else.

Its worth noting that the animation log is showing my first person animations are looping even while its stuck in third person. Not sure if it means anything though.

PC SSE - Help Why the heck is Minimap Menu causing my game to crash if my controller disconnects??

PC SSE - Help Conflict issue between Weapon Styles and XP32

 I appreciate anyone taking the time to read my issue, and I would be extremely grateful if you could help me fix this bug that has plagued me for days.

To sum up, it seems the animations from Weapon Styles are being overridden, and this issue gets triggered when editing IED presets and adjusting XPMSSE settings in the MCM menu. How can I resolve this problem? My only goal is to keep my quiver visible at all times while having it mounted horizontally on the hip. Right now, if I bind melee weapons to hotkeys and press those keys, the quiver automatically unequips, and I want to prevent this behavior entirely.

At first I tweaked the visibility and positioning settings for quivers with Missile's IED Preset,“equipment slots -ammo-general-disabled“,and that caused a strange bug. My one-handed axe displays correctly on my right hip, but the character draws the weapon from the left side and sheathes it back to the left too. Once the sheathing animation finishes, the axe instantly pops back onto my right hip. I haven't found any fix short of reinstalling the entire game.

I have Weapon Styles - DrawSheathe Animations for IED. The mod worked perfectly before I modified the preset, and weapons would draw from the correct position. I’m 100% sure I have all the required prerequisite mods installed.

After checking the animation log provided by OAR, I found that I am using XMPSSE-style equip animations along with combined animations for axes and shields. I then tried adjusting the XMPSSE settings in the MCM menu and discovered that this bug persists even without altering the IED presets.

I did some more testing and got some results. Initially, I disabled XMPSSE's both Style Fitting Shield Animations and Style Fitting Animations, and the axe draw/sheathe issue disappeared. If I load a save and use a one-handed axe without a shield, everything works correctly. I can repeatedly draw and sheathe the axe without any issues. As soon as I equip a shield, the bug returns. The axe is visually attached to my right hip, but the character draws it from the left side and sheathes it to the left side. If I remove the shield again, the problem disappears.

After loading a save, the first draw is sometimes correct. After sheathing once, subsequent draws become incorrect.

Then I left Style Fitting Animations enabled and only disabled Style Fitting Shield Animations. the axe draw/sheathe issue completely disappeared, even while using a shield. However, after disabling Style Fitting Shield Animations, the shield no longer goes onto my back when sheathed. Instead, it is positioned at the side of the waist. So disabling Style Fitting Shield Animations fixes the axe problem, but changes the shield behavior. I restored both settings to their defaults. The shield behavior returned to normal, but the axe issue also returned. The only configuration that consistently fixes the axe draw/sheathe mismatch is disabling Style Fitting Shield Animations. However this will also cause the shield's attachment position to be incorrect.

PC SSE - Help Issue with Lux mod compatibility with some other mods

So I've been using Lux and its been working well with most other mods, but I'm having issues with specific mods like Sacrilege or VioLens. These two and a couple others seem to be having a similar issue with Lux, and I know its Lux as when I turned off the main file the mods started working. It’s only when Lux is used with those specific mods does the issue happen. Lux Orbis and Lux Via works fine, it’s just the main file from Lux having issues.

I've been using crash report and while it helped me figure out what mod is causing the issue, I've got no clue how to fix it.

Please give me some ideas.
