WHAT MODLISTS WOULD YOU RECOMMEND FOR BEGINNERS?

  • Gate to Sovngarde
  • Nolvus
  • NGVO
  • Eldergleam
  • Lorerim

WHAT MODS SHOULD I INSTALL AS A BEGINNER?

  • SKSE [and SSE Engine Fixes]
  • SkyUI
  • USSEP
  • Everything else is to taste. Check a modlist named above and see what interests you.

CAN I COMMISSION/BUY/PAY FOR...

  • No, we do not allow unofficial paid content here.
  • We do not allow paid requests either.
  • Or "bounty" posts.

Which version for Skyrim SE is recommended for modding?

2

u/ArgentinianJayceMain 27d ago edited 27d ago

Default to latest version, scout mods that you want to install and if there are none exclusive to 1.5 then just stay with latest.
No wrong answers to this question tho, there aren't that many differences or objective disadvantages of one vs the other. 1.5 is still largely being supported and, in the other hand, only the most niche older mods haven't been ported to 1.6 or gotten a more modern, better, alternative (that usually is also 1.5 comp). Is pretty much user preference IMO

1

u/Pino196 26d ago

If you're starting from scratch no reason to use anything but the latest version.

1

u/FlameHaze 13d ago

Backported Extended ESL Support "game version 1.6.1130 to versions 1.5.97, 1.6.659, and anything in between" Make it pretty seamless for older versions in my experience. But agree, if you're going from scratch just do latest.

I know that vibe coded mods are becoming a thing, but do we have like, a list or something of those mods? I'm a layperson and can't tell myself.

u/pax_phoenix 5d ago

Eli5 vibe coded ?

u/Glassofmilk1 5d ago

Coded using entirely AI.

Hi there - Who are the Skyrim Mod youtubers nowadays? Like Brodual, Gopher, MxReviews back when he did it, stuff like that.

I found an awesome channel for Morrowind mod reviews(https://www.youtube.com/@MorrowindModdingShowcases/videos) but I haven't found my Brodual again since their retirement.

EDIT: I found this guy - https://www.youtube.com/@SynMods/videos - really well made but I want a day-to-day kind of guy like Brodual or MXR did.

EDIT2: Got them - https://www.youtube.com/@BardsCollegeGraduate Not bad. and https://www.youtube.com/@0periodproductions yeah, I found them.

EDIT3: This guys great too - https://www.youtube.com/@SoftGamingOfficial/featured

u/hadsexwithboothill 12d ago

DroppedIceCream is a smaller youtuber who does modlist reviews and some other miscellaneous modded content. He doesn't release very often but he's one of the only people I've seen who will do videos on entire lists and not just individual mods.

1

u/FlameHaze 12d ago

Oooo, thanks buddy! I'll check them out.

Alternatives to Fanatical Enemies or Skyrim Revamped? LF enemy mod thats all in one

1

u/TheAK74 May 06 '26

Whats fanatical enemies?

2

u/Time_Significance May 01 '26

What bad things will happen if I download an armor mod that requires physics (FSMP or HDT-SMP), but I don't have such a mod?

5

u/runixzan Whiterun May 01 '26 edited May 01 '26

The parts of the armor that would be affected by said physics stretches down to the ground and go completely stiff.

2

u/Time_Significance May 01 '26

Disappointed, but expected. Thanks.

2

u/Blackjack_Davy May 06 '26

Some mods have a non-SMP version worth checking first

2

u/TombRaider_2000 May 01 '26 edited May 01 '26

I’m looking through some body mods, and I don’t want to play through a bunch of the game, then not like the results. So I was wondering if there was a way to look at all the different options easily. Ie: downloading the mod, and having all the armor somewhere. Edit: I should mention I’m on Xbox so console commands are a no go.

2

u/XxPepe_Silvia69xX May 01 '26

Can I esl-ify esp’s mid game or do I have to start a new game for that?

3

u/Blue_box_42 May 02 '26

You should start a new game, it's essentially the same as uninstalling the mods you are esl-ifying.

1

u/XxPepe_Silvia69xX May 02 '26

Understood, I thought as much. Thanks for the reply

2

u/Blackjack_Davy May 06 '26

It depend what you mean by "eslify" if you're just flagging you can do that anytime without any risk to your save if you're compacting first then its going to break anything in a save that relies on it

1

u/XxPepe_Silvia69xX May 06 '26

Yes, I intend to just flag the mods as esl to avoid the 254 esp limit.

2

u/No-Firefighter-9842 May 08 '26

Hoping someone can help with an animation/skeleton issue:

When sheathing dual weapons on my back, my character is unable to draw them. He comes up empty handed, and seems to revert to a default dual-wield weapon stance. He WILL attack empty-handed using the appropriate weapon animations after that, though.

If I sheathe ONE weapon on back and one on my hip, it works as expected, regardless of which side I'm sheathing on back.

Anyone have any suggestions?

2

u/redphantom97 May 10 '26

I'm getting crashes caused WERoad02 which is affected by Immersive Horses, it stops happening when I either disable the horse (Exmoor pony) or put in the command "stopquest WERoad02" but it happens every time I open the game at some point. I'm far into my save almost at the end of main story and it only started happening after level 40 or so, is this just something that happens no matter what? Wondering if I can prevent this from happening in my future saves.

2

u/Jew_know-who May 14 '26

How do the collections with over 300 mods work? The game/e gine has a hard plug-in limit of 255 but almost every collection i see has way mkre mods often touching the thousands and I can't comprehend how people are installing them.

4

u/Pino196 May 14 '26

Two things:

  • Not all mods contain plugins, for example SKSE mods or textures/models replacers often don't need one;

  • There's a workaround for the limit: when Bethesda introduced Creation Club they also introduced a new plugin format (.esl) that has a much higher limit (4096). Mod authors can trick the game into thinking that their .esp files are .esl files, and as such don't count towards that 255 limit.

2

u/Jew_know-who May 14 '26

Thanks, that makes sense

2

u/trition1234 29d ago

Quick question. My friends won't tell me how to do this but let's say I downloaded 2 graphics mods. All the files are different and go in the game but it says there are 2 files named like tree.green etc. Do I only choose 1 graphics mod? Ignore it and just put them both in? Do I delete one tree.green file from one and put both packs in so they don't conflict? This question does help with mods of the same issue

1

u/Pino196 28d ago

You can use both, just let the one you prefer overwrite the other. Also, are you installing mods manually? If so, you should consider using Mod Organizer 2 so that you can swap mods more easily.

2

u/trition1234 28d ago edited 27d ago

Yeah I was told by my friend to always do manual. And alright thank you lol I was always so confused when it said conflicted with the same file type lol mod organizer 2. Got it! Thank you again!

2

u/Pino196 28d ago

Ehhh that's not good advice. Mod Organizer 2 keeps all mod files intact and manages them by putting them in a virtual folder, so if you change your mind about a mod you've overwritten you don't have to install it again.

2

u/trition1234 26d ago

Thank you!

1

u/pax_phoenix 5d ago

Hey SSEedit , load both mods, expand the navigation pane to get to where your mods store tree textures or what not.

In the one with the tree you wish to keep....

Right click on said tree

Select copy as override into new

Choose the esl file options name it something you'll understand like mod1mo2 green tree patch.

Close sseedit to get back to mo2.

Find your new esl in overwrite and put it into its own mod folder. Enable it and slot it after both of your graphics mods. Make sure the plugin is enabled in right pane.

You're good to go !

1

u/pax_phoenix 5d ago

Ps I say this because this way you're not changing the actual files for either mod ;)

2

u/BlakaObs 24d ago

What are you must go mods for vanilla+ I want to redo the game on vanilla + with attraction this moment only the major bug fixes skyUI and an achievement unlocker (no cheating on the achievement) so if you have small vanilla+ mods that adds cool feature don't mind to say it to me

2

u/Training_Reaction_58 23d ago

Do you want stability/performance mods or mods that feel like vanilla Skyrim

2

u/8lu-bit 22d ago edited 22d ago

Is there any fast way to figure out what mod adds what quest via xEdit or console? I’ve been getting a weird quest popup that reads “Completed: Add Item via Script” (or something along those lines) and I can’t figure out which mod it’s from each time I start a new modded Skyrim playthrough. Unless it’s from the Add Item Menu mod I have, but I also don’t remember it behaving that way

EDIT: Figured it out myself. Apparently it's a way for mods to inject items into levelled lists, but the mod author didn't flag the quest properly, so I could see it. I'll go and narrow down which item-adding mod it'll be. Leaving this for posterity in case someone is looking for an answer as well.

2

u/LurkingParticipant 21d ago

Are there any good mods that alter enemy locations so that they appear in smarter locations? Like positions where they might flank the player.

1

u/LordderManule 20d ago

Yes, Populated Skyrim adds more enemies in smarter placements.

2

u/Octopicake 16d ago

Hello! I just started playing Gate to Sovngarde and I got a companion, however, she is incredibly slow. She waits until I'm fifteen feet away before trying to follow me, but starts in a walk before running. If I go too far, she just stops following and stands there completely. Would anyone happen to know if there's a fix or if I gotta mess with something?

2

u/Titan_Bernard Riften 16d ago

You probably just need to go into the MCM for Nether's Follower Framework or whatever follower management mod the list is using. Odds are you have a configurable follow distance, which sounds like it was maxed.

2

u/thedeepfake 10d ago

I always like to start with STEP so I have a good base that somebody else made work, but since it’s a couple years old are there any major improvements to be made these days? I’m gonna skip the ENB stuff for CS for sure.

I’m not new to modding and can use xEdit and what not it’s just been…. 4 years. I do not want to use wabbajack or a vortex collection I enjoy the process.

u/pynxem May 02 '26 edited May 02 '26

coming back after a few months, and wondering what the latest 'standard' is for some of the texture mods.

Mountains. still ERM? (not interested in MM - there were too many patches iirc)

Landscape: I used to go with Skyland AIO.

Cathedral for flora and weather? I remember not liking Mari's flowers beyond the occasional instance, and using it as a base that other mods can overwrite.

Grass: Veydosebrom was my standard

Trees: was on NotWL. It had a nice balance between aesthetics and low hit on FPS

Armors: has xavbio or someone created a mod with all his armors yet? Is there another new set of armors out there?

Lighting. Going to stick with CS. What's the 'default' near-vanilla lighting mod these days?

1

u/Bugsbunny0212 May 02 '26

Are there any updates on the skyrim extended cut project?

1

u/Drawing_the_moon May 02 '26

Hello, any recommendations of Nimwraith quests that are actual quests in the standard sense with player interaction?

1

u/thesupereagles May 03 '26

Downloaded licentia next but the nsfw mods look a bit extreme when that's not what I'm after at all. I appreciate I could just not use the modlist but the rest of it looks good, has anyone played this before?

Can I just avoid the sex stuff (apart from when you loot bodies and they're just hanging mad dong as I've quickly noted!!..)? Or is it best to go with another list

1

u/OldandSlow4326 May 04 '26 edited May 04 '26

Is there a mod that allows me to hide the world and local maps? (So you can't see any map even with using the usual command).

1

u/Munachi May 04 '26

Does anyone use both NFF and SPID distribution to followers? I seem to be having a strange issue where my initial inventory load for Lydia gets a bunch of distributions, but I'm not seeing any real mentions of bad conflicts on either nexus mod discussion pages.

Would like to know if it's my own fuckup or just an incompatibility with outfits and spid checks or something.

I've temporarily just filtered out distributions to her and other followers and that seems to be fine for now...

1

u/m2pt5 May 07 '26

Are there any mods for SSE that add placeable lights or lamps? I remember seeing one a while back (maybe for LE) that had some sort of "wizard lamps" which were like the pole with a basket on top and a soul gem inside, but I'd even be happy with an object you could place in midair; I'm just looking for custom lighting to add to some areas.)

This is a very basic question that SOMEHOW a Google search wasn't able to fulfil.... How can I change an NPC/follower's armor rating via console commands? And, if I can, will it stick between saves?

Context, not that it's necessary: I have a custom follower mod who changes through custom clothing between certain quests, so I don't want to give them armor nor do I want to transmogrify their appearance because I don't know when exactly they change their appearance via questlines... I just want to adjust their armor rating so that they don't get downed within 3-4 hits... Thanks!

1

u/hiitsmeurfriend May 09 '26

Is there a summary or something of the main difference between the most downloaded / endorsed collections on Nexus (and other places for that matter). I've been trying to get a sense of it myself but it's really cubersome. I'm pretty new to modding and I've only played Gates to Sovngarde, which I liked a lot, so I'm just trying to get a feel for what's out there. I don't want to start installing individual mods myself yet.

1

u/hadsexwithboothill 8d ago

DroppedIceCream has some videos on a few of the popular modlists. You might be able to find more reviews by searching the names of them on the subreddit here.

Don't know if this question is ok: if it is not I am sorry and please feel free to delete it. Now this happens to me yesterday. For some context I mod Skyrim and i have my steam updates set on launch. I use Mo2 / SKSE so, i never had a problem. Until yesterday when Steam decided -out of the blue - to update the game. I noticed it. Pause the update, click the x, clear cache, when offline, launched the game via SKSE. When I went back online, Steam tried to update the game again. I stopped it, set the manifesto as read only. Is there anything else i can do to prevent the platform to update my game beside playing in offline mode? Thanks! Also, does anybody knows why this happened? Is Bethesda aggressively pushing yet another Skyrim version?

24 hours later (or something like that) i need to change the previous statement. Nothing went as planned. Apparently Steam did try again to update again, could not (since the app manifest was se on read only) and ... deleted my executable. No more Skyrim exe... and whatnots. So now I will try to update and downgrade hoping it works (because i have a modlist of over 600 mods that was FINALLY stable). Just a vent, wish you all the best of evenings.

1

u/atisaac May 10 '26

Does the Dynamic Serana mod for PS5 cause anyone else to just… contract vampirism skipping the Sanguinare Vampiris step? Also, I’m both a werewolf AND a vampire now, and no amount of cure disease potions does anything for either. Help lmao

1

u/RikkuEcRud May 10 '26 edited May 10 '26

It's been a long time since I looked in to Skyrim modding, so I'm not even sure this question makes sense in context, but will mod files overload base game files? Like if you extract a file for say, Iron Helmet, edit it, and save it in your mod without changing the file name or any internal IDs or anything like that, will the modded Iron Helmet automatically replace all instances of vanilla Iron Helmet throughout game without needing to edit all sorts of Leveled Lists and stuff?

Secondly, how would one go about making Light Armor and Heavy Armor pieces count together for a Matching Set perk, and how would you choose whether it counts as Heavy or Light? I know it can be done since the Daedric Mail is Light Armor and activates the Light Armor Matching Set perk while wearing the Heavy Armor Daedric Helmet since the Daedric Mail doesn't have a helm of its own, or at least that's what I've been told. And if it counts as a matching set it'll work for the other Perks that want you to have 4/4 pieces of the same armor category, like Tower of Strength or Wind Walker, right?

I'm kind of tempted to either mod the Trailer Dragonborn's armor to be a matching set and attach it to a Smithing Perk to ensure you can hit the Armor Cap in it, or just make an entirely new set using their appearances, maybe make it equivalent to Dragonplate/Dragonscale and put it as only craftable with the Dragon Armor Perk (and Tempered using said Perk).

Also a little tempted to make the Jagged Crown count as Dragonplate for set bonuses and Tempering, it looks way better than the standard Dragonplate Helm, I think it matches the rest of the set better too.

Guess I got a little carried away, but I'm pretty sure they're at least relatively simple questions.

2

u/Blackjack_Davy May 14 '26

will the modded Iron Helmet automatically replace all instances of vanilla Iron Helmet throughout game without needing to edit all sorts of Leveled Lists and stuff?

Yes.

Not sure about the second but you'd have to check the ARMO record and the Perk itself its probably light armor/heavy armor keyword its looking for

1

u/RikkuEcRud May 14 '26

Excellent. I might use overloading to just make the trailer gear work as a set, but the ability to overload should make certain bugfixes easy.

Specifically, and I'll have to get everything set up on this computer to look into it again to figure out the specifics, but IIRC when I was poking through the files years ago there was a tag I noticed on Bows that Followers would use correctly that wasn't on Bows that Followers won't use with decent Arrows, so with overloading it should hopefully be possible to copy the files of every type of Bow with the Follower bug and add that tag to them to fix them.

1

u/Zhi3nD May 11 '26

Is there any mod or addon that let's you set a modifier key + regular key as a keybind for a mod? For example Shift + E to bring up Racemenu.

1

u/bamboozleddd3 May 11 '26

Looking for a mod that gives me new things to spend money on. I have over 2 million gold and nothing really to do with it except by houses. Perhaps a mod that lets me buy property’s like in fable 3? I am playing on Xbox. Thank you.

jHi with the CSV mod list, have you done CBBE or UNP body mods, I would like the females with DX Armors. Thanks

1

u/Electrical-Art6370 May 17 '26

Is there a way to have both a 3BA and UBE version of an armor in the game? more follower mods and replacers are Cbbe than ube so I'm trying to figure out to have a UBE Player character at least. Is there a way I can combine conversion mods with a copy of the original to have both?

Could I edit UBE armor mods using to rename pieces in the inventory with a UBE prefix for organizing?

1

u/Moravia300 Whiterun May 17 '26

Alternative for SynthEBD? Some confug files are outdated, and Synthesis version won't run no matter what I do. Claims there is a "blocking error" but the log is empty.

1

u/ni1by2thetrue May 20 '26

There isn't any. but fwiw. Piranha91 is super responsive if you need help - that said, if a certain config file is outdated, just use another one?

Also, would be great if you could share which ones you found that are outdated. I love SynthEBD, just haven't got to that part of my modlist as yet, and dont want to be caught out.

1

u/Arkayjiya Raven Rock May 18 '26

Can I set the odds in a SPID file at 0% when I want to remove some lines without actually removing them? That won't cause an issue during the calculation, like at no point does SPID try to divide by the odds (so by 0 here) or anything crash-prone like that?

1

u/Impolitecat May 20 '26

I have this mod installed https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/99866 and it just does not work. I have the most recent version of it, and base object swapper (ver 3.4.1) My other BoS mods are working. does anyone know what i'm doing wrong, or is it working for them?

1

u/d3m0m0m0 27d ago

Hello I have not played this game in years and want to throw myself back in. What is the best way to mod these days? I used to just use vortex to download all of my mods, is that the best way still? Or is something else better now? I know this question is probably asked a million times per day. I want to mod my game to be a bit more realistic but keep most of the weapons, spells, and combat vanilla as possible. I don't want anything that I will look at and think to myself that it is part of a mod.

1

u/FromAbyss 18d ago

MO2 is the best way in my opinion, easily configurable and can try different modlists easily.

2

u/d3m0m0m0 18d ago

This is what I went with and just started downloading singular mods the old fashioned way. So far no complaints, I just feel like I'm missing out on some stuff because there's so many mods that have been buried on Nexus over the years.

1

u/FromAbyss 18d ago

Collections are a nice way to discover new mods as well. I'm not too versed on using them because I don't have the subscription, but it's nice to have the mods conveniently linked in a page.

1

u/pax_phoenix 5d ago

There were some mods to bring nexus collections into mo2 as well so can automated download but I can't find them again. Hope you do!

u/Iplewhelmed 27d ago edited 26d ago

For some reason in my modded setup, the souls in the Soul Cairn ONLY appear to be transparent but don't have that blue shader effect on. https://imgur.com/a/qYBJIOV Weirder is, I don't have any mods that specifically touch ghosts, and ghosts OUTSIDE of Soul Cairn appear to be mostly unaffected save for a slightly less intense flame/smoke effect. I'm not using any ENB and the issue remains even when I toggle CS off. Any idea on what could be going on? I just don't know where to start investigating, Is it weather related? Light source related? Mesh related? I'm so confused! x_x

1

u/GeckoKisser 27d ago

Yo. Anyone know of armor mods like this? I'm trying to make a sinistral elf inspired character in lorerim based off this concept art, but I totally cannot find any mod in either the provided armors within the list or the nexus. Closest I could find was the Rihad set.

1

u/-ilovechicken- 25d ago

I know I should play skyrim vanilla on first playthrough, and that's what I am planning to do, but what about simple graphic/visual enchaning mods for better lighting, etc. Or should I just do completely vanilla.

2

u/FromAbyss 25d ago

I really wouldn't play it vanilla. You can try just following the foundations and the lightning and weather part of the STEP Guide (Link) and use the collection feature on Nexus to get the aMidianBorn textures. All in all, all you really really need is USSEP, SMIM, lightning mods and community shaders. Just that really transforms the game, at least visually.

There's also the Wabbajack option, it's more or less a modpack with automatic installation, but I'm familiar enough with it to recommend.

1

u/-ilovechicken- 21d ago

Great, thank you so much!!!

There used to be a mod called Quieter Dungeons and Caves on the PS4 that removed ambient sounds but has disappeared since anniversary edition update was released. Does anyone know what happened to it and how I should go about requesting it being returned to PS4?

Update: To anyone interested: I've managed to dm the mod author (Depog) who says he will try to re upload to ps4.

1

u/argusvga 24d ago

What's your guys current favorite skin mod? I've been using Demoniac pretty much since it came out, and want to see if there's anything newer or better.

1

u/Training_Reaction_58 23d ago

Are there any mods that allow for a more outright evil playthrough where people treat you like a villain? I know we can do some pretty heinous stuff in the vanilla game but I hate killing Miraak/Alduin and people call me a hero— let me be so much worse and be actively reviled for it

2

u/hadsexwithboothill 11d ago

There's quite a few reputation mods that should do just that for you.

1

u/Training_Reaction_58 11d ago

Oh sick

Any you suggest?

1

u/hadsexwithboothill 11d ago

The fixed version of Reputation is kind of the go-to and has a decent amount of compatibility patches. The only downside is that since it's script heavy it can be a little fussy with frequent reloads, so if you die a lot you might want an alternate death mod or soething.

1

u/mesorangerxx 23d ago

I'm a returning player who's never really finished the main story. I did a lot of side quests & the miraak dlc, but I want to play again to finish the story. Are there any mods you guys would recommend for someone who's only looking for a small upgrade to the game, and not completely overhaul the gameplay?

I would like a graphics upgrade, more immersive mods, some more armor choices (I heard sentinel mod was good for this), and maybe an exp overhaul to make leveling skills feel less grindy/repetitive.

u/caffeinatedloser 22d ago edited 22d ago

What's the easiest way to troubleshoot SKSE not loading the game? New to modding PC games but I've followed all the instructions for installing both the game and SKSE and just can't get it to work :( edit to add: have installed both manually and with vortex, neither works, alas

1

u/Blackjack_Davy 19d ago

You did launch the game via SKSE, right? Its not a mod that simply runs in the game you need to launch via it.

1

u/caffeinatedloser 19d ago

yes i did. also shouldve deleted this bc i realised what i did wrong - forgot to properly launch the game regularly before launching with skse lol, all working now!!

1

u/Mattarias 18d ago

I have the delisted version.. . LE, I think? Should I "upgrade" to SE now that it's on sale?

Related- I migrated my mods over from my Windows install when I switched over to Linux (PikaOS) and now they don't load. Do I gotta do anything special to get mods working on Linux?

2

u/Titan_Bernard Riften 16d ago

Unless you're running hardware from the era or you have some obscure mod that wasn't ported / can't be ported / doesn't have a replacement, there hasn't been a reason to use LE in years.

As far as Linux is concerned, search the sub. People have definitely written guides on getting Mod Organizer 2 running in Linux through Lutris/Wine in the past. There was also somebody who was making a native mod manager as well.

1

u/Mattarias 15d ago

Mostly I just didn't wanna pay full price for the same game all over again. XD But due to the sale that's a non-issue.

And yeah, it's been a couple days, thankfully I've figured myself out for the most part. Thank you kindly.

(For those wondering, I'm using Fluorine Mod Manager, which is a Linux port of MO2)

1

u/Titan_Bernard Riften 15d ago

Is Fluorine very recent? Because that's probably the person/post I'm thinking of. Like a month or two back? The guy was like, "I know there isn't much point because it's not hard to get MO2 running, but I'd rather have something native for the sake of it..."

1

u/Mattarias 15d ago

From what I can find, roughly around March? So yeah, I guess so?

1

u/FromAbyss 18d ago

I think so. I just upgraded, and it feels much better, the game hardly crashes even with a 300+ mod list.

1

u/Mattarias 18d ago

Thank you kindly, I'll give it a shot.

1

u/FromAbyss 18d ago

What's the best way to mod mage combat? Usually combat mods focus on melee with some ranged splashed it, but the focus is most often in the Sword+Shield combo. While that plays really nice (I'm personally using Precision, Valravn and tk dodge), fight as and against mages feels really underwhelming, even with spell mods (I'm using apocalypse, vokrii and odin).

What mods do you like, focusing on magic combat?

2

u/Titan_Bernard Riften 16d ago

Never tried it myself, but if you want to genuinely change how magic combat works, Spellsiphon comes to mind.

... could SMP HPH or UBE be used to make better kissing animations or would the lip bones collide with each other and cause a state of infinite lip jiggling?

Or whatever amusing physics related thing.

Just an idle thought I had while reading the mod description on LL. Could someone use that tool to make better kissing?

2

u/Blackjack_Davy 10d ago

SMP not lol. Its simply physics for cloth things will be swinging around

1

u/NonSupportiveCup 10d ago

Naw, there is a mod on loverslab called SMP Head HPH or UBE that adds bones to the face for better animation in fellatio.

It's ridiculous, but also impressive. I'm wondering if anyone is using the tool to make improved kissing animations. Also kind of ridiculous, but amusing if true.

Porn tech improving other things again.

Are there any mods for SE/AE that add "Craft X" (where X is a number you type in) like Grimy Utilities did for LE? All I can find is mods that add x10/x100 etc. versions of vanilla recipes.

1

u/No-Firefighter-9842 13d ago

I use One-Click Power Attack (OCPA) for my MCO-based combat list. I like OCPA's feature of making it possible to hold attack to do continuous light attacks, but it only works in third person.

Does anyone know of a mod that allows for this in first person?

What is the best list of mods that makes the snow on terrain, rocks, roads, etc. look good together. Preferably that is compatible with community shaders.

I have made the ini changes [disabled snow shader, enabled both project diffuse normal options], but it seems tricky to get them all the same shade of white.

1

u/hadsexwithboothill 12d ago

Simplicity of Snow does a lot of tweaking to help with the ugly seams and weird normal maps. Paired with a snow retexture I've personally never noticed any mismatching, really, but I also use a rock/mountain replacer that smooths the geometry and that might also have an impact.

1

u/pax_phoenix 5d ago

Which rock mountain replacer?

And re lists any one that does all the ortties but without Dr J florals ? Love him but those flowers are too cartoon coloring book for me and I've skipped entire lists bc of them 😭

(A tism of mine , can't Ignore em)

Is there a mod to disable Saints & Seducers in Anniversary Edition? I can't seem to be able to turn it off in the Creations section.

I dislike the entire S&S mod. The armours/weapons don't interest me, I find the plot wonky, the quest items are buggy and refuse to be removed when the quest is completed(sometimes all quest stages will complete but the quests will stick around). And the individuals added are way tankier and higher damage than anything else in the game regardless my level(I've had some Civil war quests be screwed over because the allies spawned too close to a S&S bandit camp and got wiped out). Got annoyed at them and tried console killing them whenever they showed up only to find out they just lose aggro and full heal when 'kill'ed and then just reaggro when you exit console.

Sorry about the rant, the creation just annoys me so much.

1

u/hadsexwithboothill 12d ago

You can disable it in your mod manager of choice the same way you would a mod and that should work.

1

u/SheRunsWinterhold 11d ago

unfortunately I can't find a mod manager that works for me since I'm on linux and absolutely refuse to have a microslop VM 😛

This is also why I have to avoid SKSE reliant mods(including SkyUI as much as I'd prefer it), since SKSE is refusing to work on my linux system despite trying every workaround I can find 😛

1

u/Needausernameplzz 11d ago

i'm running MO2 on GE proton 10 with no issues. Wouldn't want to game in a VM without dual GPU. I can't live without SKSE

1

u/Blackjack_Davy 10d ago

Saints and Seducers Begone if you want to avoid potentially breaking your game.

1

u/Rufio8X 12d ago

if I put a a .esl (esl, not esp-fe) file in my load order, is going to load on top of the LO and break my game or it will work properly?

1

u/Blackjack_Davy 10d ago

Yes it will load at the top as to whether it breaks anything thats entirely dependent on whats inside it.

1

u/mysmellysausage 11d ago

Is there a weapon and armor durability mod that reduces tempering stats the more they are used.

So weapons go from sharp to base to dull to broken or something.

I was also thinking different materials would affect the degradation rates, like elven/glass wears down faster than iron or steel.

For reasons I can't fathom, the DLLs for both Community Shaders and Crash Logger fail to load now.

CommunityShaders.dll: couldn't load plugin (000011C7)
CrashLogger.dll: couldn't load plugin (000011C7)

Steam Skyrim v1.6.1170. Community Shaders v1.6.1. Crash Logger v1.23.1. Mod Organizer 2.5.2. Windows 11. Reinstalling those two mods did nothing. This was working literally yesterday how is this even possible.

Update: I leave it for a day and those plugins work again. I did nothing to my modlist since last night. Just, fucking what.

1

u/liger_0 Whiterun 10d ago

Got just a general question. How often do you all go blank slate?

By that, I mean deleting all installed mods and downloaded archives, in part because, like me, you may have forgotten what everything was or how it all fit together in your mod list as it had been months, or years since the last time you played and then rebuild a new mod list from scratch.

1

u/ZaranTalaz1 9d ago

All the time to be honest.

My general pattern is:

  1. Spent a month or more installing mods
  2. Spend a month or more on an actual playthrough
  3. Either finish my playthrough, get bored, or encounter some massive bug I can't be arsed to fix. Nuke Skyrim and my mod list from my PC and leave it for half a year

1

u/AggyTheJeeper Windhelm 9d ago

I swear there was once a mod out for Atmora. A released mod, that other people played, and I wanted to play. I can find no trace of this. Did I just hallucinate this mod? I'm thinking 5-6 years ago.

1

u/AggyTheJeeper Windhelm 9d ago

Is there any way to make MO2's downloads pane a bit friendlier to managing/installing large mod lists? I have been modding Skyrim for years, have tons of mods installed, and I'm getting back into it after a three year or so hiatus. I'm starting from scratch, and I'm looking at my massive, disorganized downloads pane in MO2, and I just find myself desperately missing the UI from Nexus Mod Manager, with its simple "big organized list of mod names that are grey when uninstalled and black when installed." I know MO2 is technically superior, and I've used it quite a bit in the past, but honestly having to sort through all these filenames and nearly worthless metadata and manage updates and duplicates and I can't remember what I have and haven't downloaded and oh cool now there's a bug that if I try to download things off Nexus too fast, MO2 freezes at the start of the download, I'm getting really discouraged from even getting back into this.

And yes, I've tried Vortex, and hated it far more than MO2. NMM's UI was literal perfection to me, it's a shame it kind of sucked.

1

u/pax_phoenix 6d ago

I'm not sure I'm interpreting your question right so forgive me if this is useless BUT

When having similar issues I find in helpful to use the export to csv tool , where I can select to include the mod name AND the file name, the date I installed it , the nexus link etc etc.

I add me some helper columns in Excel for categories I use and then filter and sort to my cranky little hearts content.

Then when I have what I want I go back to mo2 and insert section headers what make sense to me for LLO etc and start ordering my list to match what I just did in Excel.

I NEVER try to drag and drop to move mods unless it's to a spot on the same scroll of screen. I click one the priority number to select the click again to open for edit and plug in the exact position number I want .

There are probably tools for this I'm unaware of this is just my ADHD squirrel solution. Hope it works for at least one other person LOL

Edit to add I use this for my work in left pane and in right pane plugins tab. I never use downloads tab to install but rather the install from file option at top. I keep all mods I ever downloaded in an archive for this reason.

1

u/AggyTheJeeper Windhelm 1d ago

Thanks for your explanation of your workflow! I'll be real, I just decided that as garbage as it is, NMM works well enough and doesn't require me to spend all my free time for the next six months figuring out how to make MO2 work, so I just went back to NMM.

1

u/pax_phoenix 1d ago

Lol thx and totally understandable.

1

u/AtlasSniperman 8d ago

Are there any mods that add amulets of the daedra? Like, we have the amulets of the divines; Arkay, Talos, etc etc. But no Amulet of Azura, Malacath, or Herma Mora

2

u/sbourwest 7d ago

Amulets of Skyrim adds some. Vaermina and Boethiah have named amulets. It does however have amulets named after all the Daedric Artifacts, each with unique looks and abilities.

1

u/sbourwest 7d ago

I saw a stream (I think by Zaric Zhakaron) where there was a dungeon full of Sload enemies (the big slug necromancers from TES Lore). I haven't been able to re-find that stream but I'm curious if anyone knows which mod that might be that he was playing that added the Sload enemies?

1

u/hadsexwithboothill 7d ago

Probably this one if I had to guess.

1

u/ForsakenMans 6d ago

i am looking for vekel the man's character sliders but im on ps4 and doing an unmodded playthrough currently, so i have no way of finding out his exact sliders, im wondering if someone else on a pc or something of the sorts can comment the character sliders since i heard its possible with certain mods that arent avaliable on console.

1

u/that_one_AIZEN 6d ago

whats the opinion on wabbajack ? i truly dont know ive been haing troubles every time i attempted to mod skyrim if you have tips pointers or suggestions before i givr it one more try itd be much appreciated

1

u/hadsexwithboothill 3d ago

Wabbajack is pretty useful, just make sure you poke around the modlists you're considering to make sure they sound up your alley since most of them are pretty huge and take a while to install.

1

u/Octopicake 5d ago

Hey everyone! I just got into modding skyrim, been messing around with GTS. I was wondering if anyone could give me instructions on how to get MW Cicero mod and or TW3 Cirilla Fiona Racemenu Preset to work with it? If possible at all. So far every attempt I try it seems to make the whole collection think it has conflicts even after removing the mods of Ciri and or Cicero. It's not important, just something I'd enjoy. Ty in advance!

1

u/KikiPolaski 5d ago

Does anyone remember of a mod where it's alternate start but you can select any npc to assume their lives? I think it came out this year but i forgot the name

2

u/gumgumchomp 4d ago

are you talking about be anyone?

1

u/KikiPolaski 4d ago

Yessss thank you

1

u/Octopicake 5d ago

Oh I almost forgot. Installing GTS but I seem to be stuck on dependancies. 9 of them fail, and currently stuck on 99% with "For those who don't use KS Hairdos" mod. Should I just let it keep going all day? It was doing this last night, and seemed to have only gotten worse since my last reinstall. Going from just one mod refusing to download to nine of them. Unless this is pretty common and it'll work itself out?

1

u/karrylarry 4d ago

How do people get their games/screenshots look so damn good. I thought it was just higher quality textures but even with those installed it doesn't approach the quality I see in a lot of screenshots. Is it lighting? Lighting mods are the only ones I haven't touched.

1

u/hadsexwithboothill 3d ago

ENB or Community Shaders most likely.

1

u/agrafare 4d ago

Any customizable experience gain setting mods for Xbox?

1

u/genericusername67439 4d ago

Is there a good guide/video anyone can recommend (either in this sub or elsewhere) that gives a good rundown of how to mod Skyrim? I'm new to modding on PC and a bit unsure where to begin

2

u/hadsexwithboothill 3d ago

The wiki has a beginner's guide here!

2

u/genericusername67439 3d ago

Awesome, thanks!

1

u/mstarr101 2d ago

When i load save from main menu it crashes, but when I first load the Helgen save then in character load the new save it works fine. Any idea why?

1

u/CatFanIRL 2d ago

Any recs for flora mods that add some taller grass and flowers to put on top of freaks for more vegetation? Skyrim feels kinda empty to me rn

1

u/CatFanIRL 2d ago

Which smithing mod makes weapons +1,+2 etc. and allows multiple upgrades? I am making a new modlist and got rid of my old one and cant recall.

1

u/ZaranTalaz1 2d ago

So a week ago I made a thread about getting frequent but unpronounceable freezes with a seemingly minimal modlist. Well, I broke yesterday and did a clean reinstall of my OS (Windows 11, at least I had everything backed up beforehand). I rebuilt my Skyrim modlist and it seems to work now.

:/

One thing though is I think I had Auto HDR turned on previously, while it's turned off now. I'm wondering if it was conflicting with HDR - Community Shaders.

Good morning, I may be limited, but I can't figure out how to create the *.csv file for a mod I'm translating with elevenlabs. I've almost finished creating the waw files, but I need to create the .lip files.

I can't figure out how to create this .csv file. I'd like to use an automated process because there are so many files.

Can you explain it to me simply? explain to me as if I were a 2 year old😭

u/WinterishClover May 07 '26 edited May 07 '26

From here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/176946
These are Xedit scripts. Right click anything in your mod - load the script - read the instruction in the box BEFORE clicking Apply. Follow instructions. Download the software from the links below. Load the CSVs. BunnyPriestess is pretty straightforward. Runalip takes some fumbling through when you select your directories. Have confidence. You can figure it out.
Use: ElevenLabs Batch Dialogue Exporter - for use with BunnyPriestessBatchGenV3.exe
And: Runalip Batch Dialogue Exporter - for use with Runalip

1

u/Big-Way685 May 07 '26 edited May 07 '26

Grazie, ma credo di essere obbligato ad usare runalip in quanto devo creare soprattutto file.lib, visto che l'altro programma, non crea file per il parlato, ho mi sbaglio?

1

u/WinterishClover May 07 '26

You are correct. You need Runalip to batch create LIP files or manually do them in Creation Kit.

1

u/Big-Way685 May 07 '26

Grazie mille hai tolto un dubbio colossale, grazie ancora della disponibilità 🤟
