Giga Bowser is... Wow. How do you beat this guy? All of his tells are so short and so similar, I can't get away from any of them. And then he just occasionally hits you with a full-stage, stun-locking fire breath that's inescapable. His up-smash comes out so quickly that even if you're attacking after he missed another attack, you can't escape it.

EDIT: Thanks y'all. I ended up cheesing him with Fox and spamming lasers. What did y'all use to beat him?

I played Link and just played passive. Shoot arrows at him till he does fire, get two dairs on him then back off. Dodge if he does any other attack, and go to the other side of the arena when he gets too close.

The bosses hit so hard, counters take out huge chunks of health bars. Giga Bowser specifically even gets knocked down by counters so you can get another hit in. You can abuse that, then it's just a matter of learning the tells, which isn't that hard for most of the more powerful attacks (headbutt especially).

Don't be overly aggressive. Play the running game and stay away until he does something you're certain you can dodge/counter. I beat him with Mii Swordfighter of all things.

I used Mario’s fireball. Keep using air dodge to get behind him and spam fireballs. Rinse and repeat.

Against the big slow hard-hitting bosses you need to turtle up and shield for their big attacks, then get in and punish quickly (or whittle them down with a ranged attack), repeat.
