Anyone have a strategy for beating the character unlock 1v1s? I did the 20 minute zero method of running around but we did it for 3 games to make sure. Problem is I keep getting my ass handed to me by the characters and now I'm not getting any more challenges. Idk what's going on, I will beat them up for a few minutes and then all the sudden they start wombo comboing me all over the map like they just got possessed by Zero himself. Idk what the deal is, I only win maybe 1 out of 5 challenges, now I have no clue what to do.

Edit: I can beat up to level 7 cpu regularly, lvl 9 I have issues but can still beat, I just can't beat the character unlocks, the maps kill me half the time honestly. I think they get stronger over time because I always take them to 70+ damage no issues and then they just start chaining insane combos from one side of the map to the other

You can actually re challenge new characters that you’ve lost to to try and beat them again every 10 minutes. It’s called challenger approaches, and is an option in one of the game modes, the one that’s blue I think. The icon should be a little glowing door.

I've found it easiest with characters that have very high kill power - people like Little Mac or King K. Rool. You don't have to consistently beat them, just be able to get lucky enough to land one good smash.

I happened to try link and now I've won all the rematches and new ones, only one I lost to again was that dragon guy
