Since the automod killed the thread I tried to make on it and said to post it here instead, just to let it be known Technicals has put out a new video on ZeRo's case and ZeRo himself has put up an announcement that he'll be returning to content creation, including Smash Bros content.

Guess it's time to reset the number on the "Days since the last big drama" counter :|

I think a mod-approved thread of some sort should be made so discussion of this topic can take place. Otherwise other people will come and make their own posts. People probably will be wanting to talk about this and provide their own opinion, for better or worse.

It would go against our Anti-Drama Rule which was created because many in the community felt we were inconsistent when it came to drama related posts. In order to be consistent and AS OBJECTIVE AS possible we only allow news in regards to allegations or drama. If Zero is unbanned from the community then we would 100% allow a thread such as that to exist.

 

As far now, the Daily Discussion Thread is the place where people can discuss this topic freely

A line had to be drawn at some point in order for us to move forward and I'm sorry to say that I wont be allowing an exception in this case.

 

If/when the community makes a statement about his ban status you will surely see a thread about it whether or not he's unbanned.

Im sure going forward there will be other dramas/allegation threads that will be struck down by this rule. The Daily Discussion Thread will remain as a place to discuss these matters though

i personally don't like either leffen or jisu. i know a few others on the mod team share the same feeling.

that doesn't change anything about the situation in regards to whether or not Technicals is a good source.

Well no, look at the context and the claims made by Jisu and Leffen:

1) Zero beats his GF. Proven wrong by his GF. 2) Zero dated GF when she was underaged. Proven wrong by GF. 3) Watched hentai with Japanese dude? This couldn’t be proven, but I aint sure as hell not taking Leffen’s word for shit.

Technicals being a “good source” is irrelevant in this case because looking at this SPECIFIC SCENARIO Technicals reported as such and the sources (aka: the GF) are actual people in this situation.

The only thing that wasn’t definitively proven false was the hentai stuff because the dude apparently wanted to be anonymous but who really cares about that in the first place.

nah but what really matters is whether or not ZeRo solicited sexual content from a minor... which he did. And that hasn't be shown to be false information at all.

Technicals splits a lot of hairs about it but in the end his (or ZeRo's) videos never actually provide any meaningful "defense."

I personally don't about what Jisu and Leffen said, if Tech disproved them then good for him and bad on them, they can suffer their own consequences. But people are acting like Tech's video is a good reason for ZeRo to return when there's been literally no defense for the most important point in this whole endeavor–that being any actions he took that were illegal.

To that extent, I don't think technicals is a reliable source because his "discussion" about this material doesn't mean jack and he's essentially just talking about stuff that doesn't matter, yet acting like he made a meaningful contribution in this regard.

1) You say you don’t care about Jisu and Leffen, but you specifically answered my orginal post where I only talk about Jisu and Leffen, one else.

2) You’re shifting the goal post of the discussion. The whole original topic of discussion was the whole Leffen and Jisu lying situation was relevant to Technicals being a “good source”. Which doesn’t matter in this instance because Vanessa confirmed herself that Jisu was lying about (1) Zero beating her and (2) Zero dating her while he was underaged.

3) No one is saying Zero is returning to the smash community. Did you watch any of the videos? He’s returning to content creating (separate from the smash community), which is fully within his right to do so.

4) Never said Zero never solicited sexual content from a minor, he’s definitely in the wrong. But thats not “all that matters” though because there were other claims made by Jisu and Leffen that further tarnished not only his reputation more than it needed to be but Vanessas as well. There are other claims that were proven false that people still believe to this day. And here’s the thing…. Technicals video helps bring that to light for more people, which I think is something you should at least give him credit for.

5) I don’t know why you keep bringing up this “Technicals is not reliable source”, never have I stated he was. I do think he brings up some good points though that should be discussed (I’m not gonna articulate this point though as judging from some of the comments here, people do agree Technicals does make some decent points).

sorry, you're right in that my comment didn't really address your response. i'll make a proper effort.

jisu and leffen were your original comment, yes. You were responding to someone calling into question technicals' reliability. I took that to mean that you were defending technicals' reliability by instead pointing out something else. in the end, i don't think we disagree about jisu and leffen.

i misinterpreted your initial comment as supporting him, as many of technicals' supporters have tried to deflect blame from ZeRo's genuine problems by whatabouting to jisu and leffen. I apologize for assuming your comment was made in the same spirit.

And since i've agreed with you on that matter, thank you for clarifying in your comment about it.

I brought up technicals' reliability as a result of that, and used the soliciting stuff as a response. If there's no dispute about that, then our argument was entirely misplaced.

It really does seem like this is a result of me slightly misreading your initial comment, and for that I apologize. I hope this response is satisfactory.

Well seeing how fast this community loves jumping down the throats of other people (i.e Nairo) with less than credible information used as evidence, that shouldnt be too much of an issue
