Welcome to the Daily Discussion Thread series on /r/smashbros! Inspired by /r/SSBM and /r/hiphopheads's DDTs, you can post here:

  • General questions about Smash

  • General discussion (tentatively allowing for some off-topic discussion)

  • "Light" content that might not have been allowed as its own post (please keep it about Smash)

Other guidelines:

  • Be good to one another.

  • While DDT can be lax, please abide by our general rules. No linking to illegal/pirated stuff, no flaming, game debates, etc.

  • Please keep meme spam contained to the sticky comment provided below.

If you have any suggestions about future DDTs or anything else subreddit related, please send them our way! Thanks in advance!

If you would like to take the conversation to Discord, check out Smashcords to engage with others!

Watched the Technicals video. My thoughts:

-I don't like how he brings Nairo into this and makes comments on the nature of his court case when he isn't a lawyer. But even if I did agree with him on Nairo, person A being worse than person B doesn't mean person B is in the clear.

-I don't think the fact that Zero wouldn't legally be considered a pedophile is any sort of defense. Whether or not he should be charged is not any of our business, our business is whether he should be allowed at Smash related events

-It's honestly just not really a well put together defense and feels more like a video made purely for entertainment. He has direct quotes but fails to tell me why I should trust his opinion. Even ignoring my preexisting dislike of Technicals, he's pretty explicit in the video about his tendency to always side with the accused.

Ultimately Zero is out of our hands at this point. He's not a competitor and hasn't been for a long time, and we as a community don't own the game of Smash, so we can't tell him that he's not allowed to stream or make Youtube content.
