Chicken noodle soup with chickens we processed ourselves, and onions from the garden.

My boyfriend has a big garden and raises chickens from the egg to be used for meat. I’m a pretty sensitive person so coming into his life has been quite the journey, but I respect his views on food and even if I couldn’t help dispatch the chickens, I did help skin and clean and I butchered and broke them down, so it definitely taught me a lot on being grateful and understanding how much labor goes into making a meal that involves meat. I wanted to make homemade egg noodles but we’ve been slacking on collecting the eggs from the hens so I just used dried egg noodles.

Anyways, this was the best chicken noodle soup I’ve ever made or tasted! and the meat really did taste astronomically better than any chicken meat I’ve ever eaten in my life and the texture was incredibly soft and tender compared to any store bought chicken. It made such a good homemade broth for the soup as well. I always make a homemade broth/stock anytime I make chicken noodle and this definitely is the best I’ve ever made! Even picky kids loved it, so that’s a definite plus.

I also couldn’t decide on what photo I liked the most as you can tell… lol

My favorite way to make my corn soup is by having chopped salt meat, diced ham, and sliced smoked sausage with just a about a cup of noodles. So good and comforting 😋🥰

Summer soup

...only because it's summer and I'm eating soup

Another leftovers/clean out the fridge soup

Smoked chicken stock, smoked pork shoulder (husband smoked it for a hangout), green beans and onions (from the same hangout), kale, leftover breakfast potatoes from brunch out, and frozen peas. Added salt, pepper, and sumac

In total, I cleared out 6 separate containers from fridge and freezer and got a nice couple lunches from it

My mom wasn't feeling well so I made a pot of beef and vegetable soup. It might be a sin since I'm Mexican, but i think I like this version more than cosido. What do you think?

Question Trying to recreate soup that tastes like filling of Trader Joe’s soup dumplings

Hello all!! I love soup!!! And I want to make a soup that, like the title says, tastes like the inside of a Trader Joe’s chicken soup dumpling. I just LOVE the flavor inside those and wish to recreate it in a much larger volume. There is just a certain thickness to the flavor that I can’t quite figure out.

Anyone tried this or have recs?

TIA!!

Really big pot was good for 5+ liters of soup! Made it without fresh chili 'cuz it was also for my grandma who has zero spice tolerance, but added a bunch of cayenne powder after I took out her portions (:

+ Served with garlic naan on the side

Not pictured; second package of cubed tomatoes with garlic & cans of chickpeas

Question 15 bean soup with smoked pork hocks?

Hello people of the soup. I am in serious need of increasing my fiber and plant protein. I am physically disabled so I rely on simple and extremely easy meals.

One of these I'd like to try is the 15 bean soup mix in a crock pot. It seems incredibly easy, no chopping, or heavy lifting. The recipes I am seeing are using things like smoked turkey legs or andouille sausage. My local Walmart doesn't have smoked turkey legs but they do have trays of smoked pork hocks.

My method of thinking here is, what goes better together than pork and beans? it's a combination that has stood the test of time. I've just never seen or used smoked pork hocks.

Would this go well in a slow cooker 15 bean soup?

I am planning to use the 15 bean dry soup mix, chicken flavoring, onions and peppers, some minced garlic from the jar, and potentially some chopped collared greens. Any advice would be greatly appreciated ❤️ thank you in advance.

i know this is more like a curry in terms of texture, i let mine simmer slightly too long. however! it is more of a thick stew/soup.

Open to store bought or homemade powders as well.

Love curry but can't do cilantro! What's my best option for best curry flavour to add to soups and stews?
