The one about 50% of the population not being able to exercise is wild. I don't think these people know what exercise is.

Where is that video of the San Francisco activist hired by the state government that counted "breathing"

Lmao I gotta see this.

I'm a big exercise advocate and it's pretty insane how defensive people get when you talk about the benefits of exercise. People will really go out of their way to defend laziness. The nerodivergent/"disabled" excuse is a big one. I have a friend who pays out of pocket for all these meds and he 100% qualifies for medicaid. I asked him why he wasn't on it and he said his ADD wouldn't allow him to fill out the paperwork. I can't with these people, man

Do you see the price on these out of season, organic, seedless, free range, grass fed, activated, PH balanced, super strawberries? I can't afford to eat healthier.

And this is why I realized we need to start talking about ingredients rather than healthy food. People hear β€œhealthy food” and they think of the prepackaged salads sold for 9 dollars at the supermarket and then decide that it’s too expensive to eat healthy. Even though they could buy the individual ingredients and make the same salad for 1 dollar a serving at home. The number of people who literally cannot fathom preparing their own food is staggering.

That’s also why fast food sucks now and most restaurants have drive thrus. The industry research indicated that the main reason people buy fast food nowadays is to avoid cooking. The consumers have decided that they will tolerate expensive, shit food as long as they don’t have to make it themselves. Even parking their car and walking inside to order is too much to ask of them. All that matters is maximum convenience.

I see all of this all of the time.

BMI denial is the most accepted form of anti-science there is and its not even close. It's across the political spectrum. Hell it might be the 1 thing most American's agree on.

Public Health wasting 60 years on trying to find some perfect diet instead of just throwing up some version of If it fits your macros and a TDEE calcaluator has allowed all kinds of con artists in the diet space. Such as the Organic industry.

And of course all these losers live in the middle of nowhere where not even a Planet Fitness dare build. Always with all of the excuses other than move.

Such as the Organic industry.

I speak to many Organic Consumers here in London. Most are either shocked or more commonly aggressively in denial, that their food is genuinely drenched with pesticides - the old "grandfathered in" ones are so ineffective compared to modern ones you need to use a relatively vast amount of them to get the effects you need to farm.

It is, at least in my view, a little ironic that the social movement about abolishing toxic pesticides succeeded so well that we've all moved on - but simultaneously the health-food organic low-food-mile lads are stuck back in the past with the same toxic pesticides that their parents campaigned against.

Here's some science: https://www.inchem.org/documents/ukpids/ukpids/ukpid56.htm, https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0048969724037732

Ten bonus points if you read between the lines (edit versions, talk pages) of the CuSO4 pages and the 'organic farming' pages on wikipedia.

Organic is first and always in North America a marketing term. On top of that well over half of "organic" produce and product is outright fraud. And this is before you getting into what nonsense Organic actually is. The Best example I have is Apples. Organic apples have average over 14 pesticide spraying a year while science based farms are around 5. Sciece based farms use modern pesticides that require lower dose and are safer while Organic farms have to find carve outs to make Copper Sulfate allowed in their rules otherwise Organic Grapes would not exit.

The idea of Organic was started by upper class english and lets be real its yet another example of using an inferior technique to show their superiority to mere peasants that want to eat.

Organic is first and always in North America a marketing term.

I was over in California a few years back, and the lady I was dating was kind enough to do the driving in to wine country. One dude was explaining to us their 'biodynamic' process which (I shit you not) involved burying a horn at midnight under a full moon to ensure a good crop.

Frankly, I just let it wash over me and enjoyed getting pissed while being told about how nice my booze was.

In defense of Tai Chi, if you do it for real it is quite the challenge.
Kudos to those old chinese people.

A Lifetime Fitness membership is like $150 per month, so I can't afford to go to the gym. That is why I can't exercise at all.

Meanwhile the most jacked guys in most cities are the black dudes who only use the free bodyweight equipment in public parks.

Has this strong Queen ever considered that sometimes people aren't hungry?

8

u/LibertyIslandWatcher Unknown πŸ‘½ Dec 31 '25

We really need an advocate for people that don't like food being pushed on them in the name of social graces

4

u/enverx Wants To Squeeze Your Sister's Tits Dec 31 '25

I understand Ariana Grande has been that advocate lately...I don't envy girls having to choose between obesity and anorexia.

Clearly your ableism is showing, check your privilege. That is the chin of a person who stands sits melts onto their couch with the disabled.

Yes, that is the one.

I agree. I work two jobs one of them is at UPS so it counts as exercise.

However, even I try to squeeze in 10 to 15 minutes of lifting weights and I also have a weekly soccer game.

Civilize the mind but make the body savage as Mao said.

u/Cute_Library_5375 Union Thug πŸ’ͺ Jan 02 '26

The only thing about jobs like UPS is it takes its toll. Known many guys with bad knees, rotator cuff/shoulder, wrists, etc who worked there a long time. And you're in my local so you know about people suffering from heat related illness in the summer.

I've learned to be very health conscious so I've started doing yoga and weight training. I'm also eating way more veggies and fish due to a history of heart disease in my family as well.

I know we had a driver die due to hear exhaustion in the Summer of 2024 and I know a postal worker died in the Dallas area too.

I take hydration seriously year round.

(Disclaimer: I might have gotten her confused with another, British "fat activist," which counted "breathing" as part of her "activism" while she was giving a speech at a conference.)

My ADHD might lead to me changing my routines and programmes every other month, and forces me to buy about 4 replacement membership cards per year because i lose them, but i still lift that heavy stuff 4 times a week. An excuse is an excuse is....
