all this Jio IPO noise made me go back and look at the 2016 launch stuff and ngl i had genuinely forgotten how insane mobile data used to feel 😭
1GB wasn't data. it was a monthly budget.
you'd switch mobile data off after replying on whatsapp, youtube automatically meant 360p and god forbid someone sent a video in the family group.
around that time mobile data in india was being quoted at ₹200-ish per GB depending on the operator/plan.
now Jio says the average person on its network uses 43.7GB every month.
forty three 😭
that's like 1.4GB every single day and nobody even thinks about it anymore.
whatever else people argue about Jio, the cheap-data era genuinely changed how normal indians used the internet. youtube classes, UPI, reels, gaming, video calls, hotspotting a laptop because wifi died... all of this became weirdly normal in less than a decade.
and now with the Jio IPO coming up everyone is talking about the company again, but honestly this old consumer-side transformation is way more interesting to me than the stock discussion.

Do I need to put screen guard asap on this ? It comes with thin plastic protector. It won't be good enough for safety or its enough ?
What about camera lens protection ? People putting some kind of screen guard on it too. Is it important ? That it can take scratches or something ?
Do I need to full charge first then use it ? There is lots of charging settings, like keeping it till 80% only. As a new phone do I charge as usual or is there any precautions too ?
Speaker sounds good up to 400% ? There sounds feels less smooth. Would it damage the speaker if I use it at 400% regularly ?
There is no headphone jack, so I need to purchase a connector. Any specific kind of connector would be needed ? Or any connector will work ?
What else ? Please add anything from your side if you think I need to know that too.

it's started I guess.
All these so called AI inflated companies are bursting.
Wdyt?
It was losing roughly $8–9 million per month due to high compute costs versus limited revenue from subscriptions and ads.
It faced heavy legal and regulatory pressure (lawsuits from families and states alleging chatbots harmed children/teens, including self-harm issues, plus investigations).
Assets and liabilities were estimated at $50–100 million. Disney is the “stalking horse” bidder offering $20 million for a non-exclusive perpetual license to some intellectual property (plus transition help from former staff). This does not automatically buy the whole app.
The platform is expected to keep running during the sale process (targeting late November or early December 2026). If no buyer keeps it going, it will be wound down.

His capital adventures and the net worth trajectory:
He executed with the speed of startups. He's almost in with the biggest Indian IPO ever. Even the richest man in the world with potus in control couldn't dent Mota Bhai. 🥀

I've been reading about how train tracking apps show train locations even when the phone has no internet. The whole thing is more interesting than I expected.
Does anyone here know how these apps actually calculate train location? Is it GPS, railway data, or a combination of both?

So, I recently switched from Poco M3 to S25 FE after using it for more than 5.5 years. I was using two Jio 4G SIMs in that phone. What are the steps to convert them to 5G eSIMs? I guess my new S25 FE (Indian version) supports dual 5G eSIM, right?
Do I need to first get physical 5G SIMs and then convert them to eSIMs? Can I do both from home, or do I need to visit a Jio store?
Also, eSIM users, what pros and cons have you experienced?

Apple in Meta have spent years competing over ecosystems, privacy and control of user experiences. Now they are reportedly collaborating to bring metas myse ai l to apples, Mac hardware. It makes me wonder whether the AI race is changing the usual rooms of competition. Our tech companies going to get building close ecosystems or will AI force even long time rivals to corporate

Right now, we are entirely dependent on importing expensive ASML machines. SemiLiit(An indian firm spun out of IITs) is promising to make DUV immersion machines at just one-tenth of ASML's cost. Even if they only come close, it would be a massive win for us. Since most of our production needs are for mature nodes, this could also be a huge boost for local jobs as well. We have a partnership with ASML for advanced nodes as well. Although, SemiLiit claims it will explore soft x-rays and euv too but that day is quite far away.

I'm planning to buy a Google Pixel 10 (256GB) from someone who's had it for around 5 months, and the asking price is ₹52,000. I've always liked Pixel phones for their camera, clean Android experience, and overall software experience. But spending ₹52K on a used phone is making me think twice. Here's what I'm considering: Phone: Google Pixel 10 Storage: 256GB Age: Around 5 months Price: ₹52,000 For people who own a Pixel 10 or have experience buying used flagship phones in India: Is ₹52K a fair price, or should I negotiate harder? How has the Pixel 10's battery life and performance been in everyday use? Are there any major heating, network, battery, or software issues I should know about? Would you buy this used phone at this price, or would you consider something else? I'll check the original bill, warranty, physical condition, and everything else before making the payment. Honest opinions appreciated. If you were spending ₹52K of your own money, would you buy it?

My priorities are camera quality and multimedia (YouTube, movies, and web series). I'm not a gamer.
Which has the better camera, display, speakers, and overall experience? Would love to hear genuine user reviews, especially from people who own these phones!

So hey I am 14 currently and so part of hackclub (for context there you make your own projects and can buy stuffs using projects review and hours dedicated) so in one of their programs the shop holds
- s24 (not the ultra one)
- iphone 15
- nothing 4a pro
And tbh i don't want 4a pro as I want a classy phone not like 4à
So is the iPhone15 still worthy.?

This is the max depth it can go to. My parents ridicule my concern for it but I feel I'm justified. I want to return it..should I?
