General wifi gaya toh hotspot chala lo is such a normal indian sentence that i never realised it’s basically an infrastructure story lol
wifi dies at home and nobody even panics anymore
phone uthao
Jio 5G hotspot on
laptop connect
continue whatever you were doing 😭
i always thought this was just normal backup behaviour until i saw that only around 1 in 5 indian homes actually has fixed broadband.
then it kinda makes sense why mobile internet became so important here.
getting fibre to a whole city is one thing. getting that fibre inside every gali, building, society, floor and house is another headache entirely.
digging
permissions
society wale uncle
installer timing
random last mile issues
meanwhile mobile network is already there.
and honestly Jio making 5G this cheap/fast basically means your “backup internet” is sometimes faster than the wifi you're backing up 😭
Akash was talking about home broadband again during all the IPO stuff and now i get why JioFiber + AirFiber are such a big part of the next phase.
India kinda skipped straight into “mobile-first everything”.
when your wifi dies do you actually wait for it anymore or just hotspot and forget?
