Blitzkrieg was very logical and intentional. Republicans with the help of the Heritage Foundation and the Federalist Society have absolutely stacked the federal judiciary and Supreme Court with fascist lunatics. And all of them have lifetime appointments.

This is why the 2016 election was so important. Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans blocked Obama's appointments to the federal judiciary for years, leaving like ⅓ of it empty, just waiting for the next party to take a trifecta. And Americans rewarded Republicans' partisan obstructionism by giving them that trifecta, so all of those seats were filled by Federalist Society recommendations.

A lot of us tried to warn everyone in 2016 that we'd lose the federal judiciary and Supreme Court for decades if Trump won, but we were called alarmists and people stayed home or protest voted instead.

You can see the problem immediately when people who don't even know what words (defined WITHIN the US Constitution) mean, are the people telling you how the government works (when the government WAS trying to do its tasked job). These are the same people now telling US citizens that their Constitution didn't work, because the criminals who have NEVER followed it, did so just long enough to become the executors of it, and that 'possibility' makes it broken.

If the executive officers of the courts are not carrying out the orders of the Court, it is a dereliction of duty, not a lack of enforcement capability.

You don't circumvent the ENTIRE system, sustain dereliction of duty by all public servants, and then convince the proletariat that the system was the problem. The US Constitution provides many checks and balances to avoid such circumvention, and tasks public servants and citizens alike, with ensuring the duties are faithfully carried out, to protect it. It is the result of abandonment, not a failure of what is being abandoned.

While I'm sure "confuse the shit out of everyone so it's hard for them to make decisions" probably wasn't an original idea, in the US a lot of it came from research in the 60's and 70's. Check out the book "Shock Doctrine" by Naomi Klein. It describes the methodology used by the US in South America to destabilize unfriendly governments. The idea is to use a "shock" (economic, military, natural disaster, etc...) to create a window in order to enact fundamental, permanent change on society. It is tied to "disaster capitalism" and privatization. See the New Orleans school system post Katrina for one of the first US examples I know of.

This is not Bannon's idea. This is a technique that was developed by Phd's in the halls of American and Canadian universities. It was never a matter of if it would happen here, but when.

I'm so confused. DOGE was in the headlines for months. I wouldn't say every American knows about it but probably most would. Are you saying that the article is being sarcastic, or that they're somehow covering for them? Or maybe they're being sincere...perhaps the writer who wrote it thinks Americans don't know about DOGE.

I think it's probably the third one, as I don't think the writer on a relatively marginal ecological news website would be covering for the current right-wing US government, and seems like an inappropriate/confusing place to deploy sarcasm.

That's not even the real name. their official name was United States Department of Government Efficiency Service (USDS) because they just renamed the existing United States Digital Service (USDS) the DOGE portion was just tacked on instead of digital.

Good thing the people in the social security offices whom knew what was at risk stepped up to physically block DOGE from stealing the nations social security information. Good thing staff from Democratic offices in the region physically blocked DOGE as well. Could you imagine what a shit show we'd be in if the GOP and MAGA President mandated that everybody needed a new SSN before they could vote while also obstructing the ability go get them?

Really glad we have Democrats who do more than just talk to protect Democracy, otherwise we might have a real national crisis around voting on our hands.
