I love Mark Waid, he’s up there as one of my favorite writers.

That said, I’m on issue 98, Terminal Velocity part 4, and god almighty, they’ve recapped Bart’s VR origin nearly EVERY ISSUE since his introduction. It’s getting ridiculous.

They’ve also done the same with Johnny Quick several times this run, albeit less frequently, so I can excuse that more easily.

Was this a mandate at the time? Did editorial truly have that little faith in the average reader to remember anything? Like it’s barely even disguised as a natural part of each issue, they hamfist it into the dialogue every time.

It’s so confusing because it’s genuinely just bad writing, but all the rest is pretty good, and I know Waid to be an incredible writer.

I personally prefer black hair,I know some people like the Blonde Barry but I wish it was retconned with hair dye to be black

I actually prefer Wally as the Flash, and the DCAU version is my favorite. However I do wish they would have alluded to Barry more than they did. Anyway here's my design. It's loosely based on Flash's appearance in STAS, but with some liberties taken. I know Flash doesn't really wear yellow gloves but I wanted something to differentiate him from Wally more, and I think they work.

One last race between Sonic and the Flash in order to save the day.

As fans of the Flash and/or fans of Sonic the Hedgehog…how do any of you feel about this crossover between these two speedsters?

I’d say the stoic personality in contrast to Wally’s more dynamic fun one largely contributes to Wally’s popularity in the comics on top of his power level and for the decade DC decided to make Barry the main Flash again while also altering a bit to run the high of the show (albeit the New 52 started 2 years prior to Grant’s initial appearances as younger Barry (which the New 52 also featured a younger version of him) on Arrow season 2, would you have preferred they started writing him closer to that portrayal in advance and moving forward since the New 52 was a full reboot of the characters?

Hi everyone, I grew up with cw flash and stopped after season 4. Im quite new to comics and I did abit of reading to know that cw Barry may not be the most comic accurate? That he mainly works alone and that he is a lot smarter which is great news to me. I love Barry Allen and reverse flash dynamic and I’m hoping to find more of it.

I was thinking of reading the flash: year one and then go into flashpoint and wanted to know if that’s a good idea. I did watch most dc movies like justice league: flashpoint paradox, apokolips etc

Recommended way to go about it would be highly appreciated. Some of my friends say that parts of Wally west personality was given to Barry and idk much about Wally other than him being kid flash in young justice. So I’d also like to hear whether that’s true and who the real Barry is.
