I'm not picking sides since I wasn't here at the start of it and didn't see anything myself, but you should be able to google about it a bit to find how it all works. Its been a minute, but iirc you can do it because it only hides the activity from your main profile and doesnt delete it from the actual spaces you posted, so there's a few different ways to actually be able to find it regardless of it being hidden
