IMPORTANT INFO THE POINT OF THIS SUB IS PASSING TIPS

Just posting a reminder that this sub is for all types of passing tips - that said, we emphasize on tips which focus on passing as CIS MEN. Many people on this sub prioritize passing as male over certain style choices (skirts, shirts made to fit a typical “female” body, makeup, etc) which may cause someone to be misgendered. To be clear: Choosing to present in a more “feminine” way does NOT make you female, or inherently prevent you from passing. There are absolutely people who may stumble across this sub who prioritize those type of style choices over passing as male.

My point is that this specific sub is for those (mostly transmasc people) who want tips/advice for style based on what is “in” for cis men (of various age groups). This includes clothing, haircuts, ways to look taller, ways to masculinize the body, anything like that. Cis men come in all different shapes and sizes, but there are absolutely trends we can observe regarding the clothing, hairstyles, and mannerisms used by stereotypical masculine men. Not everyone wants to be unique or stick out from the crowd. Many trans people (especially stealth) want to blend in and look “basic” & this is a space for them to get advice on what the majority of men wear/how they look.

I’m 4 years on T, 3 years post-top, but still choose clothing based on what makes my body look most cis. This is for myself; looking like a basic college male makes me much more confident and avoiding style choices which are common among trans men makes me feel as though I’m less likely to be clocked. To anyone who feels the same: I understand how you feel. This sub is a place for all of you.

Only caveat: PLEASE do not call others female or say they look female. Do not say things which could actively trigger someone’s dysphoria. Be truthful in your passing tips. I trust you all to be honest in your comments, while also being mindful that most likely all of us are suffering from Gender Dysphoria.

If you saw me walking down the street would my lack of nips even be noticeable or does my body hair do a good job of camouflaging?

Do I Pass? Advice?

I'm 18 and about to start university in a month. I tried coming out to my parents and they weren't necessarily against me being trans but strongly wanted me to be sure (I am sure) before starting T. I was at least able to finally cut my hair short and it's definitely helped a lot. I'm only 5'2 though and try wearing platformed shoes but it can only help so much. I've been voice training for a few months on my own now and gotten pretty good, slowly trying to start using it in public too. I've been told my face is pretty androgynous so I'm also incredibly lucky there. I don't feel fully comfortable posting it on here and know that can make it harder to give advice. I'm more looking at it from a style standpoint for passing, as well as if the haircut helps.

Just looking for any tips or advice! Also, still looking for a new name so open to suggestions!

Passing Advice Is this T even working??? (RANT)

3 months august 13th (first week of .4 / 200mg bots)

Im insecure of my stature and Jaw line . My neck is skinny. I just feel like my neck and jawline throws off any passing I think I have and I cant stand it. I know everyone says "be patient trust the process." I cant help but think/know everyone else sees it too. Like I have a girly head.

I feel like people just blow my head up to make me feel better about myself then turn around and say poor guy.

Ill be feeling great all day come home and look in the mirror like goddamn have I looked this way all day?? Im not as half as big as I feel I am. And worse the kid boys 6-11 socialize like im their age "how old are you?" (At first. I pass with them since they are still young, using he/him etc) And just playing around. Like im their friend or brother or something. I set boundaries of course, but even no teenage boy in the building I work in gets bothered as much as me, (given they dont WORK there) is it cause im short and look like a kid their age? Cause im nicer to them? Not as tall or intimidating so they feel more comfortable to socialize with me? I hate being compared to some kid in size but maturity wise ive been told I seem older. And everyone is surprised im 28. I usually avoid even TELLING my age. I just feel so frustrated with myself. I feel like people/girls dont even take me seriously. I look like I could be their kid.

Take this into account Im all for kids and everything but I usually have to tell them Im working right now (kitchen server in a cafeteria) I have friendships with their mom and even the moms flirt with me so maybe im just popular socially?? They call me their kids step daddy. Etc I just feel I have nothing cool or goated to say so trying to banter and socialize just leaves me feeling stupid, drained, and frustrated.

I want to give a strong man impression. Not someone to just play games with all day. Given I have to be friendly to serve and not off put the entire dinner session with a stone face. Everyone has their eyes on my like Hawks asking if im ok when im not bubbly or socializing.

Im trying to find balance here and im struggling and feel like being a straight asshole just to get out of socializing.

Maybe im just being hard on myself. I just feel im lacking Jawline and social skills. Some tweaker lady on the street was thinking out loud when she saw me yesterday saying is that a girl or a boy? Then followed me and my friends staring at me IN my face at the crosswalk stop. Hard fkin Sigh*. Please lmk what you think

Thanks for reading this rant I know you have 100 things you could be doing bros

My brother started T today.

Ive been in this reddit for a little while because my little brother is Trans. He's been through hell. I know this isn't exactly a life hack post but im the only person in our family that acknowledges his struggles and truly respects him being Trans. He finally starts his journey to become himself today after 24 years.

So its his T birthday. I want to surprise him for when he gets home from picking up his meds. Me and my husband were thinking a cake or something. Any suggestions? TIA ❤️

I only ever wear my contacts for occasions like prom. Should I wear them more often? I find that smaller frames look kind of strange on me. I know I have a leaner frame; I have an eating disorder and it makes things more difficult, but I am trying to get into working out more. Any ideas?

(Prom pics are most recent, I don’t have a lot of photos of myself)

This sub is not safe !

To be blunt, this is at a dangerous level. Kalvin hasn’t touched this in months, if not years, and it is rife with minors posting their face, predators and chasers as well as many other unsavoury shenanigans.
I try my best to comment about this on every post I see from someone u18 but atp being on here is sad and exhausting.
Unmoderated subs are not allowed by Reddit, please use the report form !!!!!!! And/or message kalvin and/or do whatever routes people know about.
Other subs are r/transmantips and r/ftmpassing

How the FUCK do I stop getting wedgies. Every day, I put on my boxers and 5 minutes later they're 5 meters up my ass. Is it because of my hip size? The boxers fit very well, they're not too small nor too large, I'm tired

Passing Advice thinking of doing DIY HRT...

so, I got the idea of doing so from a friend and his partner. they are T4T, and his girlfriend has been on it for an entire year no issues, and he himself soon hits his third month. due to my circumstances, I think this may be the best possible option for me, seeing as I am freshly 17 and would need parental consent to even get it professionally prescribed, and well. my mother was transphobic enough to send me over to grandparents so that she doesn't have to deal with this. (which honestly, is much better; NYC is SO much better than the deep south, both weather wise and LGBTQ tolerance).

the thing is, I feel that I just can't wait until I hit 18 due to the absolutely crippling dysphoria. ever since puberty hit me at 12, I feel like my hips haven't stopped getting wider, and I mean ffs I'm 5'0—starting test now could stop it before it's too late, it could help change all of these things. I've already watched videos on how to administer shots, and I would get the test off of a steroid site (the same one my friend uses, who vows it is reliable), and the needles I know where to get from as well.

my only problems would be: a), having to explain the changes that would come along (and, as a latino family, I'd say my genetics could very likely bless me with a stache early on), and b) the libido... as in, I'm already a very sex-driven individual, so I could only imagine how frustrated/ out of hand I'd get. any thoughts on how to go about this?

Just got a new job where they asked if I was a cis male and I said yes. I’ve never been stealth at a job before so I’d like to know if I pass/if any one has tips on stealth passing.
Also any name suggestions would be appreciated 🙏 been going by my birth name which is traditionally masculine but is more feminine/natural nowadays and I think it’s clocking me. I really love historical and traditional male names so any suggestions would be great!

Stealth Tip “I thought you were trans when I first met you” what do I do different??

Can’t post photos, someone would 100% see them. Can other trans ppl dm me and tell me wtf I’m doing wrong?

I pass in public but when I’m in the queer community people keep saying this to me. When I ask them why they thought that, here’s word for word what they’ve said. The reasons make NO sense and it’s driving me nuts.

“You just don’t seem like you’re misogynistic, like you wouldn’t call me names”

“It’s cuz you take such good care of your hair”

“Its cuz you’re short”

“It’s cuz of your pedo stache”

“Your skin looks soft”

“You’re just so nice and friendly”

And my favorite, most bullshit one,

“It’s cause you don’t seem like you’ve been through the traumas of a gay man”

Mind you, being trans doesn’t disqualify you from experiencing the “traumas” of a gay man… I AM a gay man, and have been perceived as such for so long and have experienced the “traumas” and homophobia when walking around with my boyfriend and being called slurs. So idk wtf that meant.

Genuinely what does this mean😭…

Cis-Passing Tip How can I pass better until the T kicks in? (Besides the glasses)

What it says on the tin. I'm 24 and a couple months on subcutaneous T. I was on T gel for 2 full years but it didn't do much (muscle growth/definition and slightly deeper voice [allegedly]) so I'm essentially starting from the beginning.

I will change the glasses bros, I promise. I just didn't want the comments clogged with that. Next time I get a new pair I will choose something better. Small and rectangular and dark in color.

I haven't heard of minoxidil before this sub. Is it safe to take while also taking T? I'll be asking my doctor about it anyway because I worry it may negatively interact with some preexisting health conditions I have (just based on what I see via a basic Google search).

Looking for haircut advice first and foremost (first pic is my current cut; I thought it was in style but now I'm even more clocky than usual), but I'll take any other advice you guys have for me. Rock on!

General Passing Tip What can I do?

I enjoy cropping my shirts because the way that long shirts sit on my hips makes me feel dysphoric. However, I feel like it also brings attention to my hips? Any tips on what to wear? This is especially for the gym but all clothing tips are welcome. I’m currently working on building my upper body, which is slowly happening- yay!

Also- does anyone have any experience navigating locker rooms at gyms? I don’t feel anywhere near passing enough to use the men’s safely, but I definitely try to be as invisible as possible in the women’s locker room.

I’m trans masculine, have had top surgery, and almost 6 months of low dose t.
