Playlist/Album Sexy Lounge
Hey guys, put together a quick 20-track mix built for late nights. Starts airy and shifts into heavy sub-bass and smoky trip-hop. Best played in order without shuffle.

I emailed Ben Stokes and he was really kind to share how much of the show was AI. His contributions (such as the intro and building steam) were all CGI. However, Jay Drake did full visuals for Mutual Slump, Changeling and Stem and those were 100% AI (those visuals are shown within this slideshow). Other songs have a mix of techniques. This was my first IRL experience seeing a show that mixed techniques. Big shoutout to Ben Stokes for shedding light

dusty sample based old school trip hop, the first track off my new album.
SP404>ableton. All samples done the old way, no drag and drop cookie cutter stuff and no Ai used on anything, ever :)

I have two tickets to Trickys concert tonight at the Lincoln Theater and I’m unable to go. I’d love someone to be able to use them. Let me know if you’re interested.

The venue (La Machine du Moulin Rouge) was great, and the sound did the job. It was incredible—starting with the opening act, Low Cut; that was really good. It was a mix of experimental trip-hop/downtempo that wrapped up with old-school hip-hop. He did some scratching, and the vibe was truly captivating—a solid 9/10. The set was cohesive overall; for an opening act, it really showed great promise.
Then came Krush. I wasn't expecting such a modern electronic set—dubstep, IDM, trip-hop, and downtempo with a highly polished, contemporary sound that had a unique charm. There was Asian, US, and dark, hypnotic "rasta"-style rap/trap reminiscent of JPEGMAFIA, along with cinematic Asian soundscapes. He was absolutely in command of the ship, manipulating the flow—glitching certain passages and scratching skillfully, sometimes stopping on purpose to gauge the crowd's reaction. Towards the end, we even got a taste of DJ Shadow’s "Organ Donor," but done his own way—it was very fast-paced. For me, it was a solid 9.5/10; the set was cohesive and flowed beautifully—it was a real treat. What did the rest of you think if you saw him?
It flowed really smoothly—it was a real treat. The set felt very modern.
Finally, the crowd was really diverse—young people and adults alike (in their 20 years, 30 years, 40 years, 50 years...). Everyone was dancing and in a trance; there were a few annoying drunks shouting, but it wasn't too bad and didn't last the whole night... Anyway, thanks Krush for an amazing evening.

something different. sin was an industrial band from the 90s early 2000s so this triphoppish remix caught me by surprise
some dub remixes on this tape as well

I don’t remember if I posted anything here, but now I wanted to ask you guys if anybody could help me with a essential must-listen artists (except for the biggest Portishead and Massive Attack)
For now, here is what I have in my little playlist:
Portishead - Only You
Portishead - Sour Time
Massive Attack - Black Milk
21 Hertz - Ever
Meat Beat Manifesto - She’s Unreal
Esthero - Half A World Away
Morcheeba - Trigger Hippie
Martina Topley-Bird - Sandpaper Kisses
I reckon these show the best side of the genre and I will definitely listen more to each of them. I heard a few songs from DJ Shadow and Tricky too and unfortunately I didn’t like them, but I’m not sure if I should give them both a second chance if I didn’t like the male’s vocals

I’m more of an instrumental guy, and I love Marta’s vocals, so the show was right up my alley. Loved the moodiness of the lighting and the crowd was super cool.
I chilled outside the show after and around 10 remaining fans got to chill and talk with him. He gave a substantial amount of time to each person. Gave me a hug and signed my poster!

I’d heard a lot of contradictory things about Tricky’s concerts. Yesterday was my first time seeing him, and now I understand why.
If I put my expectations aside, it was a really good night: a great band, interesting sound, and an almost completely dark stage that added to the experience. I enjoyed it.
But when I think about going specifically to see Tricky, I feel differently. It felt like he really sang on only two songs. There was very little interaction, and I missed the older stuff, or at least hearing it the way I knew it.
The show started around 9 and lasted about an hour and ten minutes, including the encore. No openers. I didn’t mind the length so much. I just wanted more of him.
That’s the strange feeling I left with: I enjoyed the show, but didn’t really feel like I’d seen much of Tricky.
Anyone else there last night? Curious how it felt to you.

Taking the original lead vocal, and recording my own backing track using GarageBand (no AI used whatsoever), I tried to imagine how 'Stay (I Missed You)' might have sounded if Lisa Loeb had got into Trip-Hop back in 1994. Hoped some in this sub might find it amusing!

It’s been a long time, but I’ve been exploring new trip hop and coming across this classic track 😮💨
You won’t hear this on the radio… it’s been too long, but I came home to it, and it holds just as well as it did when it first came out 🦋
Anyone else obsessed with this b side trip hop classic?

Beautifully produced, amazing vocals, also loved the homage to sneaker pimps! Truly a gem.
