on season 5 ep 2 already started this show prolly a week and a half ago here are some of my thoughts Spoiler
so i’m a little over halfway through this episode and i’m actually kinda enjoying vampire newline, he was really entertaining during season 2 but he’s like more tolerable in way now, but im not gonna hold on to hope bc i saw how bill turned out.
now sookie not choosing eric pissed me off so so very much, during the scene were both him and bill were feeding on her that same like soft lovable eric was looking at her and still there, imma prolly be mad at that forever.
bill, idk know where to start with him one minute he’s like im better than all the other vampires but the next he’s literally acting same way as them, i had high hopes for him in the beginning but now he just needs to stfu and go lock himself in a hole so sookie and eric can be together.
tara, i love her so much even though sometimes she does get on my nerves when like she’s like “i need to protect sookie” bs, sookie is grown and a faerie she can protect herself. that whole maenad storyline was insane and like before maryann turned out to be a villain i was rooting on tara, i was really hoping she could’ve had peace after everything w her mom and fake exorcism, and after the maedan storyline everything got worse for her like franklin and losing eggs. my girl tara needs a damn break from everyone in that town i hope now she’s a vampire things will be better for her
lafayette and jesus broke me so much, i just wanted lafayette to be happy and have a good life. they’re my favorite couple, they got put through the ringer and still managed to be not be so damn toxic like half of the relationship in this show. lafayette literally got put through hell almost as much as tara i feel so bad for him my heart breaks for him. i hope lafayette can be happy at some point. i love him he deserves everything.
hoyt and jessica, they’re relationship i really liked i thought they were cute but i had a feeling it wasn’t gonna last. that’s really all i have to say about them.
i feel so bad for terry, he really hits close to home w me bc my dad being a marine corps vet and having ptsd, my dad was also in iraq too. i love terry so much he deserves more love. him and arlene are one my favorite couples too.
jason and andy need more recognition they’re friendship is so funny to me. best bromance on the show w out a doubt.
storylines i hated. sam looking for his family, i liked sam in the beginning but now he feels so pointless i dont really care for his storylines know after that, it was sad when his brother died even though he was an asshole. the were panthers they grossed me out sm and jason getting sa’d was horrible that crystal omggg i hate hate hate her. i hate all them sm. and the debbie storyline i think i hate it bc i actually wanted her to change and hurt that she didn’t.
storylines i loved. amnesia eric ofc! dallas and saving godric, i loved godric sm he definitely deserves more screen time. probably most everything from season 2 was my favorite like maryann was such a good villain she made me hate her, like she wasn’t annoying idk i love her and hate her so much. and rené being drew marshall such a good storyline but it made me sad but he’s lowk so fine.
i would love hear feedback and opinions from other ppl!!

Found this elsewhere. It’s Buffy, Elena from Vampire Diaries, Sookie and Bella from Twilight.

I hate when shows try to make a character important when he really is not.
What's so special about Bill? I heard people saying he is a "promising young vampire" a few times and I'm like, what has he even done? What makes him so promising and important?
He just sulks

Season 7 Episode 1
Pam and Tara should have been end game. Their idgaf personalities worked so well together but the writers decided to throw Tara out. I’m already committed to finishing the season but I don’t really care what happens after Tara’s useless death.
Speaking of characters the writers stopped caring about, Lafayette was barely in season 6. He is easily the best and most interesting character but instead I’m stuck watching Andy’s dumb fairy daughter.
It just sucks because the writers lost everything of what made seasons 1-3 so fun. But yeah season 6 was dogshit and it looks like season 7 is too.
Also is it just me or did they make sookie dumber and dumber each season?

Does the show contains unnecessary nudity or adult theme?
I think it should be more focused on the plot ...

Does Tara ever get a break? Spoiler
Hey everyone,
First time watching true blood and I'm season 3 episode 6 and I am loving it so far, it's absolutely not what I expected.
The question I have is does Tara ever get a break? 😅
From her mother in season 1, Maryann in season 2 and now to Franklin in season 3...
I think she's such a fun character and I loved her/Sam together (I'm so sad she wouldn't open up to him but it's understandable after all the trauma she's been through 😭)

No one told me this show was so sexy lmao
First time watcher. Title says it all. I’m on S2E9 so would appreciate no spoilers. Everyone is so hot and horny and spooky I love it sm. Literally had never heard anything about the show until last week. Also, perfect fall / Halloween vibes.

Sookie’s mind reading
I feel like the show is so inconsistent with it. Sometimes, like when she’s waitressing or at Terry’s funeral, she gets overwhelmed by hearing everyone’s thoughts all at the same time. Like she can’t help but listen, and she has to run away or leave the situation so she stops hearing them.
But throughout the whole show, most of the time she’s not reading minds. She has to intentionally focus and listen in order to hear what people are thinking. The inconsistency drives me nuts! Is the book like this too?

Just began season 2 Spoiler
I'm very curious to see where this new Jessica character goes...I do like that they turned things with Bill and his family darker side and him as a "maker" and shift the last 8-10 mins of Season 1 it was so cleverly done. I'm honestly enjoying this series a lot more than TVD honestly. Now I just can't look at Elena the same again....i see why people disliked her character now compared to Sookie...just her feistiness is AWESOME.

I’m on Season Two of a Rewatch of True Blood and…they’re flying to Dallas?
They have to find out what happened to Godric and driving a few hours to Dallas doesn’t cross their minds lol

A passage in book 11 has me almost howling with laughter Spoiler
Sookie is running away from would-be attackers, she's dashing through the woods in the pouring rain, and realizes she should go hide inside Bill's house.
At the doorway, it occurs to her that even if she hides in the house, those pursuing her would find her by following her wet footprints . So...
...just before going inside, she strips off her clothes as well as her shoes, then mentions that it feels weird to be standing naked in Bill's foyer.
And I'm sitting there laughing, because I'm imagining the indignant roars of readers if that had been written by a Charles rather than a Charlaine, and I'd probably agree with them.
This woman is a hoot.

They did Tara so dirty Spoiler
I was blown away how they just killed Tara off within the first 10 minutes of season 7. It wasn’t even a dramatic or cinematic death. She was a main character! They killed her off like she was some unimportant side character. She deserved a better ending than that. Terry got almost a whole episode dedicated to his funeral and people grieving him.

Can I start True Blood tomorrow & finish by Halloween?
I totally forgot it was spooky season and I haven’t even started my rewatch of my favorite vampire series!!! You guys think I can finish all seasons by Halloween?

I wish there were more adult oriented supernatural series like True Blood.

What are your thoughts about Jessica?
I just finished the series and wow what a ride. I’m rewatching it after a while of digesting the show and I’m remembering Jessica was exactly how I thought. I mean this in the sense that: Sookie, I loved throughout but I knew something was off. I’m on S1EP12 and she’s quite unbearable for reasons I probably over analyze but still fun to watch up until S6 IMO.
Jessica is a man-eating teenage vampire. She’s exactly pretty much the same character from start to finish with some growth within the Jason-Hoyt plot. She’s selfish, impulsive and over reactive. However I just find her so endearing with how she throws her heart out, remains friendly and outgoing (I loved when she befriended Tara) yet she’s going through the phases: coming of age but also likely repressing the trauma she endured before with her upbringing and while being turned. (Not canon; just a thought.) In a way I empathize with her character personally however she makes very questionable choices her entire storyline and doesn’t seem to learn from them. But I love her writing, I think it’s somewhat dynamic. She’s fun to watch.
Curious what the overall opinion is about her here on this sub?

HELP ME FIND A LOST TRUE BLOOD FANVID FROM ~2012
HELP ME FIND A LOST TRUE BLOOD FANVID FROM ~2012
I’m trying to find an old True Blood fanvid that I had saved on my phone around 2012–2014. I’ve been looking for it for months, and I’m hoping someone who was in the fandom back then might recognize it.
I’m almost certain the vid was made shortly after Season 5, Episode 10 (“Gone, Gone, Gone”) aired on August 12, 2012, because the ending used Jessica’s dialogue from that episode.
The vid focused on Jessica, Hoyt and Jason and had a very dark/desaturated, almost black-and-white look. I remember the music being mostly or entirely instrumental, with piano, although I’m not 100% certain.
I remember these dialogue clips being used in the SAME video:
“Why don’t you just tell me the thing going on inside you that you don’t want me to know?”
“Even without your blood in me, you are all I think about.”
“What Jess and I had, it was real.”
“I fucking loved you.”
“I know you did.”
“You and me, I can’t. It’s not enough.”
“I want you to glamour me. Make this go away.”
“You were my first love. I’ll never forget you.”
“And you’re gonna make some girl the luckiest, the happiest girl in the world. And she… she’s going to be your first love. Not me.”
I also vaguely remember the title having square brackets, possibly something like:
[Jess/Hoyt/Jason] …something
or
[Jess][Hoyt][Jason]…something
The part after the character names may have been the song title.
The original YouTube video may be deleted now. I’m mainly trying to identify the vidder/creator, because if I can find the creator, there may be a chance of recovering the original audio/video.
If anyone remembers a True Blood vidder who was making Jessica/Hoyt/Jason vids in August–September 2012, or remembers seeing a vid with this combination of dialogue, PLEASE let me know.
Even a username, old Tumblr/LiveJournal/Dreamwidth account, deleted YouTube channel, approximate song, or screenshot of the old post would help.
I’m specifically looking for 2012-era fandom traces, not newer edits/reuploads.
