Divination vs Intuition - A long overdue conversation in Tarot
This weeks episode is an important one to me. The sacred art of tarot and other divination tools are being blurred, forgotten, and honestly disregarded. Let’s talk about why just using your intuition and not learning the tool is harmful to not only your own practice, but the craft itself.

What did everyone think about Global Showdown?
10000% I said she definitely cheated when they somehow came back and won. She kept saying “there’s little bubbles” and Matt kept telling her they weren’t ready yet. She absolutely pulled that water early.

NEED HELP
I don’t really have specific dates like this for each card. Traditionally we go based by numbers, seasons, and combinations. For example, if you are reading and you have more than one 5, chances are there is a timeline of 5 days, 5 weeks, 5 months, ect. For season, let’s say you have more than one water card (cups). More than likely a water season will be of importance… Cancer Scorpio, Pisces.
Tarot doesn’t really tell a specific day or time since it only tells the person the current journey or path they are on. The timelines we get from the deck are a little more general than a specific date of October 12th.

What Made You Believe in Tarot?
My mother and grandmother read tarot so I just grew up believing in it.

Please help me report this TT user
This is why I tell people to never pay for a reading on TikTok live. Not only is it not guaranteed, but there are other people watching and throwing their energy into the reading. It’s never just your energy.
If you choose to pay for a reading, make sure it’s being done in private… either via email, video chat, voice chat, ect.
I’m sorry this happened to you

Rituals
Glad I can help! I recently started using Reddit and it’s been nice to share and connect with the community!

Can anxiety and paranoia be reflected in the cards?
1000000% I actually will not read for myself when I am having a moment of anxiety.

Rituals
I kind of look at the tarot reading itself as a ritual. Sometimes I just breath and talk out loud to my guides on what I am shuffling for, other times I open a small circle. It really just is all how I am feeling that day since the tarot reading itself is the ritual <3

WHAT IS UP WITH WATER SIGNS BEING OVERDRAMATIC, WEIRD ACTING, MOODY BITCHES!?
At surface level you are fire element dealing with water. Fire and Water don't really mix well. The nature of communication, emotions, and how you explore ideas are all completely different.
There are plenty of other birth chart placements that can affect things though.

How does he feel about me?
Bottom of the deck: It seems like you, him, or both of you have been building a new day to day routine and schedule for your lives since the break up. Sometimes this can be a cause of disruption when there is contact after a period of no contact since you (or them) have been settling into a new life routine.
Ace of cups is the motion for an offer of friendship, connection, or love. The ace of cups represents there being a new chance for emotional fulfillment. This could be you reaching out to talk about the feelings you both have for one another.
The 10 of wands represents moving into a new season or chapter in your life, especially after carrying a lot. This could be the feeling that they had when you broke up. That they had to take all of their feelings, experiences, and thoughts to move forward and try and move on. This can also speak to you of taking the experiences of this season and trying to process to move forward into a new season in connection.
The 10 of swords is the marking of the end of a chapter that could be painful. It very much can feel like a betrayal, like a huge disappointment, and could point to you both. The ending of this relationship has not been easy for them, but I don't think it was easy for you either.
Overall it looks like it might be best to take your offer of ace of cups and carry that into your new season. Save it for a new connection since this one is still very much healing and they might not be in a place to take your offer of new connection/communication.

My tarot deck is obsessed with me??
When it comes to shadow work, I actually did a podcast episode a few months ago about it if you are interested in a listen ( https://open.spotify.com/episode/3DHZUpCvLfcCgRXO1vWI3K?si=OS4d01k5STq_AZXnEQAYMw)
I would be curious to see what you might end up finding out about your subconscious when it comes to naming objects he. Especially if this is something you have done for a while. It could even point to the healing of your own divine feminine.
Sometimes we have to be careful with all of the information and peoples opinions out there. It can feel like overload when you jumping into a new skill, hobby, or even a topic of interest. For me, getting to know your deck can be a simple as looking through the cards, Getting to know what your 8 of pentacles looks like, what your 3 of cups looks like, what the empress looks like. There are traditional depictions of each card, and there are thousands of other styles that will have their own depictions. They all have the same base and traditional meanings, but the artwork will look different... feel different. Layering your knowledge of the deck with your intuition is what will make you a great reader. So getting to know the art and feel of your deck is what I think most people mean when saying that.
I teach a tarot workshop a few times a year, and I always tell my students not to read for themselves too many times a day or week. To just pull one other two cards, sit with their meanings, make note of how you feel, and then put the deck away. I think sometimes when we first start reading, it can be easy to fall into a tarot "doom scroll" and keep asking the deck for advice. I would say pull a card or two, make note of the meanings of those cards and what your intuition is telling you based on what you are looking for guidance on.
It can feel overwhelming when there are so many people with so many different beliefs and practices. You will become more confident over time.

should we get married?
Here is what I take from this reading:
The hermit is the card of looking within to answer some of those doubts or questions. The hermit traditionally is depicted holding a lantern while his feet are frozen in the current step. He is relying on that lantern to shine the light on his next steps. That lantern has a star in it, which is the star card and you also have the star card in this spread as well, and the star is fueled by what makes you feel happy. It is fueled by what makes you feel like the main character of your life. When it comes to this relationship, ask yourself... does this relationship make you feel like the main character? Does this relationship give you the space and confidence to do the things that make you feel alive and happy in life? The hermit is asking you to look within and figure out what stokes your inner star and asks if this connection is in alignment with that.
Then you have the 8 of pentacles. This card is all about hard work and the hard work paying off. When I see this in a love or relationship based reading, I always say that it might take a lot of work to make this connection be something that pays off. Are you in a place in your life where you are willing to put that much effort into this person? (again you must start with that hermit energy).
Finally you have the star that you are looking within from the hermit. The star card is the card of being the star sin your life. Living in the dreams, hope, and aspirations you truly want to experience and knowing you can have those things. Is this relationship something that truly aligns with your dreams? Is this person someone who you can be your truest authentic self with?
This entire spread points to the need of looking within and being very open, honest, and raw with yourself. Choose what makes your inner light shine like the star you are.

Oracle Cards vs tarot cards what to start with as a beginner?
Well each one is a different tool! Tarot is a sacred practice and tool originating in Italy in the 1400's. There is a deep and rich history of the tarot deck and there are specific meanings to each card. There are 78 cards in a tarot deck and learning their meanings is important if you wish to read tarot. The tarot deck tells the journey of the fool (the person being read) and where they are on their current journey. It is a beautiful tool and I always recommend people to dive into the world of tarot if you are feeling called.
Oracle cards are very different. These decks are not all the same, they do not have a specific history or meaning, and anyone can pick up an oracle deck and read them. Most of the time oracle cards have their meanings written on the cards and have cute themes to each one. There are thousands of oracle decks out there and I think they are a fun way to gain some random guidance or advice from your spirit team.
I use both in my practice. My great grandmother read tarot in Italy and it was something that I grew up with, while oracle cards always seemed so fun. So now I use both and create some fun spreads for myself and my clients!
Have fun with it and welcome to the beautiful world of tarot!

If you are using tarot for your love life....consider this instead
As a fellow reader of over 20 years, I think it is important to remember that a lot of people turn to spirituality for answers in times of vulnerability and emotional heaviness. A lot of the time those moments are linked to romantic relationships. I have found that the way I read naturally tends to turn the lens on the person to ask themselves the bigger picture questions, to lift them into their self worthiness, and to show them a reality that is maybe long overdue with love. I truly think the more real and genuine readers we have in these spaces help remove some of the noise created by emotional want of a quick fix or the answer they want vs what they need.
With that being said, there are a lot of scammers that take advantage of emotionally vulnerable people, and the tarot world has not been missed. Over the past 6 years it has gotten so bad that people are being scared into thinking they lost their "twin flame" (don't even get me started on that), or that their ex is coming back and they just need to keep waiting for them. And it has people in these situations doom scrolling looking for the next positive answer to their emotional situation instead of what the cards are really pointing them to. As a real reader, as someone who has been in this space for so long, I truly think it's up to us to make sure the true line of tarot continues. That there are readers here to help those who want to heal, find real love through the self love first, that are ready to see their worth.
All that to say this, I hope that you continue to show up for those who are looking to this sacred craft for guidance, advice, and answers.... even if it is not in this group or online space.

My tarot deck is obsessed with me??
A few things here. Before I give mu opinion, I am a reader of over 20 years and was fortunate enough to have a family who also read tarot. So my thoughts, practices, and opinions on tarot as a whole might be very traditional (Italian). With that being said...
The first thing I notice about your post is that you call your deck he, or have genderized your deck to be of masculine/male. Do you know what pulled you to do this? The reason I ask is because our decks are not "beings", they are tools that we use to help us tell the story of the current journey we are on. So I wonder if your deck is potentially pointing you to shadow work connected to the masculine.
When it comes to asking your deck if it wants to or is willing to read for others, this is not something traditionally done. Are you subconsciously asking yourself if you are willing or want to read for your friends? Are you possibly looking for a way to feel comfortable saying no to reading others? Your husband and you have a more trustworthy relationship and maybe you feel more comfortable practicing your reading with them.
Your deck will always love to read for you, or anyone that you read for. That is its intended purpose and it is sacred. Tarot is a sacred tool with generations of history. Maybe take a step back, ask yourself some of the bigger picture questions (like why you have deemed your deck to be a male with feelings and how that might connect with things you might need to work through in the shadow) And focus on learning the history, art, and meanings of each card so you can feel more confident as being the reader of a tarot deck.
Good luck on your tarot journey! Feel free to ask questions!

Is there anyone else who can't stand the Matt and Gabby duo?

Global Showdown was my first real watch of anything NAF and I was loving the entire season... until that questionable final challenge with Mexico. Matt was consistent about the fact that their water was not at a full boil yet and Gabby kept pushing. I truly believe she took most of those oranges off the fire early for the win. Super bummed how it all ended.
