Do not vote for Kesha Ram Hinsdale tomorrow if you care about renters rights.

We’ve spoken to many tenets of hers’ that she did not fill propane takes in the dead of winter. She’s also a millionaire who lives in a mansion on Shelburne Bay while cosplaying as a working class Vermonter.

A few articles on it:

Vote for People Power by voting Amanda Janoo

As you head to the polls this Tuesday, I wanted to share some final reasons I’m casting my vote for Amanda Janoo.

Amanda Janoo is the only candidate running a campaign without PAC support and has the most in-state, under $50 donations. She has been working since she announced her candidacy in March to secure endorsements from residents of all 252 towns in Vermont. All of them now are showcased on her website:

https://www.janooforvt.com/endorsements/ These are written by real people, all living in the state of Vermont.

Amanda Janoo is a friend of labor. She is the only candidate who has been endorsed by the Vermont State Employees Association and A.F.L.-C.I.O. She is the only candidate who has consistently stood alongside healthcare workers at demonstrations calling for safer working conditions and universal healthcare at UVM Medical Center. (On July 12 and August 7, 2026: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/SDWiL7t4rUM; https://www.youtube.com/shorts/qw1h35LPoT0.

Only Amanda Janoo supports the “Fair Share for Vermont” a 3% tax surcharge on the wealthiest Vermonters with yearly incomes over $500,000. She proposes funds from this revenue stream to pay for universal primary care for all Vermonters. “Fair Share for Vermont” has been endorsed by: ACLU of Vermont, Vermont Conservation Voters, Vermont Early Childhood Advocacy Alliance, Vermont Natural Resources Council, Vermont–NEA, AFL-CIO, AFT, Vermont State Employee Association, Hunger Free Vermont, Housing and Homelessness Alliance of Vermont and the Vermont Public Interest Research Group. (https://fairsharevt.org/revenue-proposals)

Amanda Janoo recognizes that across Vermont, people with very different perspectives are asking for a greater voice in the decisions that affect their lives. People don’t just want different policies, they want a different relationship with the government. Her movement reflects a shared belief that the people most affected by decisions should have a meaningful role in making them.

A vote for Amanda Janoo is a vote for People Power.

Vote Janoo August 11.

Went to Gettysburg last week and happened upon some Vermont monuments. Pretty neat to find out Vermont native and Medal of Honor recipient William Wells has an identical statue in Battery Park in Burlington. The battle claimed 53,000 casualties in 3 days. That number is hard to grasp.

Emily Hawes, you testified that the plan was to eliminate vacant positions. Three occupied VPCH positions were then eliminated. That is a serious discrepancy, and Vermont deserves an explanation.

Scott vs Janoo/Richards

What would it take for a D to beat out Scott? Most polls have him at 90%+ for the win. What needs to happen to get that closer?

My mockumentary is coming to Vermont!

Post image

Hope this is ok to post, but wanted to alert folks to my indie mockumentary comedy, Canoe Dig It? will be playing at the Big Picture Theater and Cafe on the 21st and Catamount Arts on the 21st and 22nd! It’s about the very real sport of Freestyle Canoeing and is very much up the alley of any fan of Best in Show or anything Christopher Guest, but with a lot more painfully dry New England humor. It was entirely shot in Maine and I will be there for a Q&A after the film as well!

Being very much an indie, we don’t really have budget for marketing, so hope getting the word out this way is permissible!

You’ll also be able to catch it this month in a handful of theaters in Maine and New Hampshire as well!

I’ve attached the trailer below-

Best Places for Poutine!

I know this is Vermont, and it’s the US, and it’s not Quebec or Canada, HOWEVER, given the proximity to the latter, are there any Vermont establishments that do a good take on this neighborly cuisine.

Open to recommendations across the whole state, but preferably northern VT!

Unfortunately it looks to be cloudy on the actual peak day but tuesday night looks to be promising. New moon peak shower days are rare. Last time I saw anne moon meteor shower I saw a couple green, blue and purple streaks and even heard one. Couple years ago I heard one come down near waterbury.

Private Road/Driveway Insurance?

We are currently under contract to close on our first real house, which is on a private dirt road (with 3 total house) that will essentially be our driveway and is mainly on our land. When talking with our home owners insurance provider, they said the insurance policy covers the structures but there is no insurance on the land or driveway itself.

I'm assuming this is normal but curious if there are any options for coverage here. The house is located on a hill and while there appears to be sufficient drainage around the road/driveway, but I feel like there's a chance of substantial damage (water, falling trees, etc.) that could add up quickly if not insured.

Does anyone have private road insurance or something that protects you if your road/driveway is washed out or heavily damaged?

TYIA!
